The team has been looking into a variety of solutions including many of the suggestions made here, on the UpVote and in Discord (like compression, collections, parking fees, no fees, etc).  I'll let you know when we're ready to announce though

Alright folks, quick reminder about personal attacks - don't.  Religion, politics, etc are not permitted in our community so please don't go there.  

To get you back on track, yes we're looking into other solutions and better long term solutions for market parking and abandon constructs / salvage opportunities Just because stuff isn't here now, doesn't mean it won't be in the future. 

Yes mate, we've heard this story on a thousand different posts already. Most of us have invested a lot of time in this game, so what ? If you want this game to progress, spamming the same thing a million times will not change something, if the devs have enough money, the game will progress, simple as that. If you post shit on the forums and all new players see your crying, do you expect they will want to try the game out? I doubt it. 
 
Of course, it's everyone choice to do whatever they want. If you feel satisfaction of posting unnecessary comments that don't bring any value, go ahead and keep turning potential new players away.
 
At the end of the day, our feedback would contribute only a small fraction for the game development. If NQ don't have money to make new features, all the best, most constructive feedback/ideas will not save them.  

Honestly, this community was great in alpha, a lot of people with good and constructive criticism. After beta, it became too toxic, unfortunately due to 10 people spamming all the threads in the forums and crying about how DU sucks in their opinion and repeating the same thing over and over. Like you said, this is extremely bad for new players who are interested in the game. 
 
All the people spamming the forums just get their dose of dopamine when someone likes their post/comment, since they don't have anything better to do in their life. It's saddening to see an awesome game fail due to the toxicity of a small number of nolifers, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. If you really support the game and want it to succeed, play it, bring some friends with you, have a nice time, don't spam the forums with unnecessary negativity, like 80% of the people here.
 
I will keep playing the game and pay my 2 subs every month to support the development as much as I can. At this point, this is all we can do if we want a good future for DU.
 
Also, to all the people crying in this forum how the game sucks, I feel sorry that you need to have some random dude agree with you on a forum to have meaning in your life.

This is true sure.. And it may come as a surprise to some that I actually talked about the game in a way that make someone decided to give it a(nother) go to find they liked it. For many I am one of the "toxic ones".. which kind of proves my point.
 
I get what you are saying but I honestly think that it's much more frustration with NQ than toxicity about the game and yes, some wil translate that to actively pushing (new) players away which is a shame. In the mean time I can have very good and fun conversations with some of the "more toxic ones" in private and given the chance I really believe that a meet up would result in a heavy distribution of drinks, stories, banter and fun in general. 
 
There's a few around here and on Discord that I'd say are at least edging towards just being trolls but mostly.. it's wanting to see the game do well and the frustration from seeing NQ not handling the game in a way that enables that.
 
 

Well if you all hate the game this much ? Why do you all bother to play ? That is what makes no sense here.

Move on if you don't like the game. It's as simple as that.
 
EDIT : Just to clarify, most here probably didn't read the Terms of Service. You are in EARLY ACCESS. There WILL be changes, bugs and other issues that the game developers have to change / fix. IT EVEN SAYS THIS IN THE TOS. And if you are not here to submit bugs to get the game running right, then don't bother playing. It's that simple. It's NOT released yet. So all this griping does nothing. Move on if you don't like the game. Come back when it's released. Obviously you all CLEARLY do not understand what it means to be an ALPHA / BETA tester.

HOWEVER, if you can be constructive, that is different. Tell the developers what the problems are by submitting a ticket. Spam them with if needed... eventually they will reply. I didn't get a reply for any of my tickets, until just couple days ago. But they DID read it and they are sorting it. How do I know ? It was the way they replied is how I know. As a developer myself, I see and understand what they are trying to do. And that doesn't includes the hundreds if not thousands of bug reports that DO get submitted.

Bottom line, the Devs are not going to sit and read these comments on every forum post. They don't have that kind of time. So YOU MUST submit tickets if you are unhappy. Explain to them why you are unhappy in a ticket.
 
And if you don't want to submit a ticket, telling them your issues in a calm manner, THEN you obviously are just a hater. Move on with your life.

I am new to this game an spend 20€ ... and i could have a beta key from a friend for free...
Until now the game fascinating me and i hit my pillow every night way to late...

Given how absolutely toxic you lot are, good and good riddance.  I backed this game very early on, forgot about it until after .23 dropped, and just now getting into it and you vets are CANCER.  Most toxic community I have ever seen, and as a life-long gamer, that's saying something.   I would say you lot are driving more people away than lack of features, support, or any other thing you want to whine and cry about.  Every time I come here looking for info, I want to uninstall.   First post btw, because all you vets cry and whine so much, people like me don't even want to participate ffs.

No disrespect intended, but I believe you are looking at this the wrong way.
 
When I first saw this game a week ago on youtube, it looked horrible. And I almost didn't bother. Why ? Because the graphics are horrible. Only reason I played is because a friend helped me understand the potential of the game.
 
To bring in new players, they need eye candy NOW. So the "trees" is a step in the direction for this. To bring in more players, keeps the funds rolling in, and if the funds are rolling in, then NQ can thus keep working on the game. If people would stop being negative and try to get more players into the game, instead of pushing them out, then maybe NQ would have the funds to get this game into a direction we all want.

The old players will come back, once more substantial meat is put into the game. Like Astroid mining for example. But that won't happen if NQ can't afford to keep the server alive.
 
Bottom line, we need more paying players. And to do that, they must appeal to their graphical senses.

Yea I had no idea they were updating, since I don't stay in that toxic discord channel. So when I treid to log in, I got that "Invalid Protocol Version. Error: 26" notice. Which made no sense to me.
 
Bottom line, they need to give better info then that. "Server is down" is a message I can understand.

With the way the game is right now so few people are playing the market is overflowing with goods with very few people buying. ore prices are falling with over supply because bots are gone.  Last but not least, people are so sick of mining they are leaving the game.     We have a community of coders and 3d modelers  why not take advantage of "Free" help making stuff for this game ??   I would be more than happy to make assets for new stuff.   Many players have expressed the same about other things in the game. 
 
We need  another loop  ASAP  pick form a list. 
Asteroids : should be easy enough as it was in Alpha  so the code "should" still exist NPC missions PVE ships that attack or are there to be hunted.     Quality of life stuff 
XL atmo engines  L wings  Clean glass or maybe some Windex taken to the ones we have  Glass voxels  Markets accessible from 1 or 2 KM away  from the terminal  Or  cleanup system around them that removes all the junk.  feel free to add a few things here

Yea, they are patching the game. They said to expect the game to be down until up to 15:00 UTC.

I play the game since a few days and agree with this.
Ugly graphic, even in a beta, shouldn't be.
I payed for three months and there are several things i don't like.
 
First of all is the missing information and keep the community up to date. This is very important, no matter how long the work will last. As long we get information about what is happening, we will be lucky and pay ! For sure.
Not geting information about a server down and how long it will take, steals my time by hiting the login button for an hour (just doing it and pisses me off)
The discussion about the bp's i can understand, even if i was in the game before the bps came in. Way to expensive, takes to much time in a testing phase. For testing the bps shouldn't cost any quantas...after release it is, like it should be.
I am tester and pay for it...okay, but what we get after release ? A free time to play ? A special item ingame ? A wet handshake ?
 
The game runs smooth so far on an AMD 2700X with 8 Cores 16 Threads with 32GB DDR4 3200 and a 2070 8GB on a M.2 with 500GB. Some micro stutters, thats it.
 
And you are right: The old players will come back IF the game will see it's release. Until then, new players like you and me are here ^^
