  1. Then....you spawn at your RN.
  2. So you want to limit them, at least explain why. *shrug* Have fun with your thread.
  3. Why? Orgs are one of the primary tools in community creation. But to answer your question more directly, no I dont think so.
  4. Why would you not log back on the ship? This is not your standard MMO. Each dynamic construct has its own xyz axis. It seems obvious that when you log back on you are back at the same coordinates inside the construct. Otherwise you would log into space...that doesnt make any sense.
  5. Oh I dont need condense per se. I'll explain what I would like to create. The mushroom in question enjoys a temperature between 21 to 30 degree celsius. A relative humidity between 98-100%, 500-1000 lux and 4-5 fresh air exhanges per hour. Those are optimum conditions for professional farmers. Thats to get the pins to form. (Primordia, baby mushroom) The beauty of oystermushrooms is that they are very flexible. So those numbers are something to aim at, the temperature, fresh air exchange and light levels wont be an issue. I'm more concerned about getting the humidity up as close as possible to the target number. The basic plan right now is to let water evaporate inside the box and mist the inside of the box as much as possible. Probably through a misting port so I dont need to break the inside atmosphere too much. It sounds a lot more complex than it really is.
  6. I am 100% behind that.I hadn't given it a name but thats exactly how I would like DU to evolve. It just makes sense to add more tools in those sectors to create new and fresh ways to play the game. I might say something strange to some players but I am tired of seeing all this energy being put into new and exciting ways to blow things up. Aka your average MMO where you blow things up to get bigger numbers to blow up even bigger numbers and so on until you cancel your subscription. Sure blowing things up is fun, we all agree on that. And we need it to keep a sandbox economy running. Stuff needs to go in and taken out. But there is so much room for interesting gameplay in the entire ecosystem. We are getting a really good framework with DU and I have high hopes for NQ as a developer. The more ways you give a player to express himself the less likely DU devolves into your average FFA. Which is something I am hoping for. There is a lot of hope though. JC described NQ as a tool and system creator company. DU is already quite diverse at its core vision. (EVE...it has provided me with a lot of fun but at this point I am tired of the same names doing the same things. I kind of hope that NQ manages to add in tools that seriously disrupt the balance of power in all 3 sectors from time to time....Guttertrash thats a name I've seen before. )
  7. @Bleep_Bloop If you want alpha acces just to have a fun game to play, I wouldnt spend my money. Alpha will be fun in its own way but....it might have some rough patches. But if you want to pledge to help development, go for it. I also wouldnt compare Kickstarter Alpha/Beta to Early Acces. Without people pledging there would be no game to develop. Early Acces is a game selling acces to capitalise on the impatience of gamers and to hopefully sell enough to continue development.(best case scenario) @Twerk I agree, I'd much rather see NQ adding more systems to interact with the world than just rehashing the same old stuff over and over. Its OK to introduce some new weapons or engines from time to time but its better to "just" add an extra feature to attract fresh blood players. Dont like mining? Thats OK now you can farm! EVE is stale at this point, in my opinion.
  8. As I said before I would be very interested in hearing them. If a wall of text is what it takes, go for it. We like to discuss things on this forum. Nyzaltar/NQ reads the forum, if you have valid questions you should give everyone here a chance to reflect on them.
  9. Ooh nice I didnt know Austria did apricots. Yum yum. Its nice growing your own fruit and vegetables. Good luck though!
  10. Yes, my mind was also going towards something like that, like I leave some space on the sides so the air can travel up. Then when it cools down it would collect on that second barrier and I can guide it from there, something like that? Yea my vegetable garden is about half that size. mostly fresh herbs, rubarber stuff like that. Although this year I planted some potatoes as alternating crop. If all goes well I end up with about a 100 kilos, should last me a year. I wish my climate would allow for apricots. All we can do is apple, pear, prunes and mine were never sweet. If you want some pointers on growing mushrooms, give me a shout. They are perfect to grow in that "wasted" shady spot in the garden. Very cheap as well once you get going.
  11. Hehe thanks Lethys, yea I enjoy it very much. I love to eat mushrooms and the choice in shops is very poor in variation or qaulity. Not to mention the "tricks" to grow on industrial scale. So I grow them myself. Nothing beats freshly picked crops. I might need to create some flow guides or a mesh for the slight condensation, we dont want the mushrooms to get condense on their heads.
  12. Thanks guys and girl to answer my question. So if I understand this correctly, because the plastic is hot and the inside temperature is so high I should see no condensation? So basicly in this set up I would succeed in having a hot humid environment? I'm trying to grow a slightly more tropical oystermushroom variation this comming summer. Its my hobby and one of my rules is that it should be a low impact growth. So no external energy (electricity) , recycled or reusable materials stuff like that. Still working on filtering rain water for irrigation.
  13. Hey Bleep_Bloop very nice of you not to make a hit and run yourself. Its very natural and healthy to be sceptical and going from your answer I do concider you a real sceptic and not a pseudo-sceptic. NQ did a kickstarter to get the funds to remain independant. They had a lot of work done to show us their vision for the game. Work that was funded for 2 years before the kickstarter. They had a lot more to show and tell than some ideas and concept art. JC/NQ had prototyped the basic proof of concept. Before, during and after the kickstarter JC and Nyzaltar have always been very open about their progress. As companies go NQ is honest and transparent. This in turn lead many people to follow and back the game. Yes, DU is crazy ambitious but its realistic in its goals. I invite you to stay sceptical and exercise critical thinking while following this game. If at some point you wish to become more involved with the project we can all benefit from your points of view. PS: do endorsments matter? FYI Chris Roberts also endorsed DU. I'm sure that raises a few eyebrows as well. How about IGN? Or whatever magazine people read these days. The only endorsment that means anything are the words of the community backing and playing the game. Catch you later.
  14. Hey guys and girls, I have a question that may seem a bit odd. First I'll give you a picture. I have build a wooden frame box. Over the frame I have attached black "plastic" that prevents water/moisture/humidity/light to go through it. Like you would frame canvas for a painting. The bottom of the box is open to provide a constant fresh air exchange. The entire structure sits on a pallet on soil. The idea is that because of the properties of the plastic the inside temperature and humidity is higher then outside. Sunshine in the summer should significantly increase the inside temperature. All the while keeping the inside wind free. Now if water starts to evaporate in high qauntities during the summer months the humidity should increase. If I understand the idea behind relative humidity it will need a lot more water in the summer to achieve similar humidity levels. My question is: If the outside temperature and humidity is lower than the inside temperature where will the water condense? If the water condenses inside, does that lower the inside temperature? (The objective of the box is to increase temperature and humidity in a low ambient light enviroment)
  15. You make it sound like NQ is being deceitful. I would be very interested to hear those questions. If only so we can better understand your position and judge for ourselves how essential these questions are.
  16. I'm a bit unsure posting in this thread but even if you as a player dont like DU you "should" cheer it on. When released the single shard universe technology will push the mmo technology light-years ahead. It will show that it is technically possible to push the current limits on current hardware. It only takes 1 person with a good idea to change the status quo. (And a lot of work, some luck and supportive people around you.)
  17. Question: When I sign up is my IP adress still open for viewing? Can I use my VPN to remain "anonymous"? Or after signing up my edits are tied to a username? (I know this might be a strange question)
  18. Thanks ATMLVE. As soon as I am done gardening I'll make an account and figure out how to edit stuff. We can collaborate on it if you want.
  19. Oh I see. Hmmm I'm going to think about it. I'll see what is required to adjust the page and if I can improve on it. Perhaps someone from the community has experience with this and wishes to contribute.
  20. Sure is. If I didnt need to eat, build a new fence, spoil my nieces and find money to upgrade for alpha I would immediately upgrade to lifetime. Damn you capitalism!
  21. I would if I had any experience with it. For example where can I see that "warning stub"? It needs citation links and such?
  22. You are very welcome. There is a surprising amount of information available already but there is still so much we dont know. As for glass and coloured lights I think we can speculate on it. They are both obvious voxel materials so the only reason we wouldnt see them is either not enough development time or technical constraints. One can be fixed given enough time, the other not so much. I think its pretty safe to assume some type of transparent material will exist. We said No Zombies!
  23. Hi there, those are some questions. I'll do my best to answer them and I'm sure other people will add to it. Water: Water at the moment is a static block. No flow mechanics, traveling under water seems to not work right now. Maybe a hovercraft can travel over it. Building on water is also not possible right now. At least thats what I understood and I could be wrong. Connectivity and Pledges: Since the server tech uses distributed load I can imagine there wont be just 1 connection to europe. I suspect DU will run between several server clusters around the world. In that scenario you would connect to the closest to your location. Again this is from my understanding the technology behind DU. After this pledge portal we will get 2 more portals. You will be able to increase your pledge at any given time up until release. Painting elements: This will not be possible I think. Elements are static mesh models with a predefined art style. This leads me to speculate you wont be able to paint them. But I could be wrong, NQ does seem to provide as much creative freedom as possible. So maybe this will be a to be announced feature. I hope this helps you. Anyone, feel free to correct me if needed.
  24. I think you misunderstood. There wont be automated autonomous mass production. Some products will be mass produced but you cant have an entire production chain without humans. At least thats how I understood it. // I can imagine an industrial zone forming around a very mineral rich deposit. It makes a lot of sense to refine and trade the ore close to the mine. Its more economical time wise and it might provide added security trading the ore directly on site.
  25. I'm not clairvoyant but somehow I think we won't see cat tails or angel wings.
