  1. Seeing your Alpha tags you actually bought into JC's acid trip vision quest. NQ never actually built the tools to facilitate a civ and put it all on you and asked you to play pretend with playschool voxel houses and somehow a Civ would emerge. Lol yeah right. Players arent devs and most dont even know how to make any kind of content worth playing let alone the 90% of the population who is the content comsumers who will find all this completely underwhelming unless you like an Elevator simulator or quazi F-0 racing or quazi mariocart. Beyond that they never game us enough tools to make anything different with limit Lua code access and the lagtastic experience it makes. As far as megaorgs go Under JC NQ just tried to push everyone into mega orgs in a feeble attempt to make a faction system and not coding it themselves. For that reason the more they want me to play as they want to im just not. NQ does not apply any forom of tangible limits as much as they use how much mega orgs exploited this game as a benchmark for everyone else and the feeble attempts to reign them in with content gates and sinks are just speedbumps for mega orgs vs mountains to most other orgs or groups of friends to bar their progress to force people to join up. Mega orgs have exploited this game to rediculous heights with changes that should have required multiple wipes and I get why they are just waiting for the full gameplay loop to do it. The problem is that with Demeter it is going to push people out the door unless you exploited the system to the max. If NQ wants them to box out everyone else from experiencing anything other then T2 industries and content and allowing mega orgs to continue to arm themselves to steamroll whats left of the player base then yeah its a great patch if you got trillions in the bank.
  2. Lol! You assume im mad when I got my monies worth and havent paid them a single cent so far and wont till DU goes live You assume I have never played or enjoy semi/full loot PvP games before and I dont care about loss or permanance You assume nobody wasnt solo mining and running missions at the same time for 2x profit like group mining wasnt laggy af You assume I didnt see this coming and prepared for it as soon as they talked about miners and already know how to exploit it. Keep putting words in my mouth. But yeah, Its not like I dont normally roll with top of the server PvP guilds in most games I play even if I chose to play casual this time around or anything in between in other games. If there is actual legit PvP with a purpose im all game for that so dont act like im against it or that I dont also root for the underdogs to make PvP not some one sided steamroll if the meta is hella imbalanced. Dont assume shit that I dont think of every play style when I speak and not just my own sake. I like destroying whole servers in PvP territory conquest, destroying economies for fun and profit till they ban me, and exploiting everything the system will let me get away with most people cant even connect the dots for themselves when a PvP game is LEGIT since UO and the 50+ other MMO PvP games ive played since. This aint a PvP game as much as it is Mine Craft, EQN:LM, and Space Engineers. Nothing they can do now can make it anything other then that. Sure they can turn on FFA but its not going to go as they plan without actually making factions of orgs and seeing as they didnt want to actually make the content or tools to facilitate that and put it all on us to do it for them it failed in its infancy barring the seldom blocades and weak content we do have.
  3. You would be surprised how much change you can affect if you actually tried. Its not my fault you accept what you are given as it is what it is and sit their complacent and compliant and are happy. That aint me I like talking mechanics and have seen all this industry has to offer in terms of mechanics, pitfalls, etc. I enjoy diving intot he meta its what I do to break up the monotony. Its not you, I get it your just looking for high fives and some kind of cumbiyah singalong as the titanic goes down accepting your fate. Im not dumbing anything down for you sorry.
  4. Oh im aware, like many here im also a Neverquest Last: Landfill refugee. I sat in the forum trenches day in day our trying to make suggestions and talking sense there too with people constantly saying trust the cashgrab to sell SoE until the lights went out after EQN "wasnt fun". Same with Crowfall. Voxel games sound cool in theory but are not practically feasable for at least the next 10 years without limiting how fast you can dig, reasonable world healing, and not just allowing people to sprint through the wall without huge imposed limits unless you go hybrid with a static mesh with voxels overlaid onto the landscape.
  5. It aint about you or him or me. This thing is going down hard and people cant accept it.
  6. Ok so.... How is inciting people to QUIT the game in the forums and even in this very thread not the reverse of calling people to actuin to SAVE the game and get the devs to listen long enough to come to their senses? Guess what all the people who used to care to save this game are gone and all we have left is the white knights of the round table in the chamber of echos with their fingers in their ears. Just wait until all that is left here is people all saying the same thing that this game is great keep up the good work. You should really be scared then. This is beta right? This is the time that the changes are made permanat and set in stone unless enough of a buzz is created to affect change when this thing goes to polishing and performance passes. Don't know if you noticed but this game aint doing so hot and there are less and less "DU Curious" these days.
  7. Yeah "Clearly" NQ is doing great and has millions of subs and this game is blowing up the internet with their awesome PvP game. "Clearly" NQ is in damage control mode trying to figure out how to amputate all JC's cancerous design choices that have metastasized and are going to kill the company if they dont act right now while asking for more money. Its obvious they dont have the time to do this "Over Time" since they are hemeraging subs as is and are now going towards forcing you to play/pay or you lose everything you earned if you take a month off. "Clearly" they dont have the time to sit back and do this "Over Time" and they dont know what cancerous desgin choices to amputate next as they seem to want to cut their arm off to sew it back on again and send us the bill only they dont realize most people playing still are alpha backers who will never pay them, the beta key players who arent paying them either, or putting it all on the few people who actually pay subs currently. Mining needed to go nobody is trying to keep the status quo as it made the game unplayable. The thing is that this patch was supposed to fill holes to make the game playable again with a full geometry reset but for whatever reason knowing the data costs it has they doubled the geometry complexity and then back filled it with a more complex vertex tool that makes everyone a voxelmancer and at the same time limit the complexity and adding more flora props on top of it further reducing and potentially adding more performance hits since there will be hundreds of thousands of miners, TUs, Cores, Containers, scripts, etc required to mine. And on top of all that they put all the ore right back in as asteroids. Good luck ever seeing a new solar system added as it just compounds all the problems it would aleviate. "Clearly"
  8. Its not personal its just gaming. You dont have to like a single thing I say, I play the game the same as anyone here and yeah I have an opinion on that and not talking about the bad decisions being made behind the curtain isnt helping things either. Don't think ive start a poll yet here since its all just back slapping popularity contests imo unless NQ hosts them. Besides do you think I would be here in the forums at all if NQ made a game that was fun and enguaging?
  9. Lol what shananigans? Like 3 people were even mildly interested and nobody is actually doing anything so ok... Attacking NQ? I detracted the semi jab at them Pann asked for with sarcasm so ok... Questioning their decisions and pointing things out isnt a crime here or in RL either so ok... What have I actually done? If speaking the truth is wrong in the court of social justice then cool deal with ti.
  10. Cool. Umad cause its all true? Im just glad I havent payed these clowns a single cent yet so whats there to be mad about?
  11. Yeah im not a fan of 2+ hour commutes or constant 6-12 hour roadtrips that are 95% inactive and mind numbingly boring. Its just not my thing I like active gameplay that actually has me do something rather than netflix type mini-games that are like "are you still playing?" with mining units for rock spawns when I could avoid the whole charge system by placing additional miners to avoid the efficiency drop in the first place when you should never use it on anything lower than T2 in the first place every 35 hours. I dont mindless grind, been doing it for years but what is left after mining is gone aint that its just auto this auto that and spot checks.
  12. Remove VR and you kill missions. Strangle it to death with red tape, limits, etc and you kill missions. Its boring and tedius as is without making it worse. Hell we just sat in the mines and spawned pocket bikes with VR did our picks/drops and just kept mining making more than mining than from the missions anyways so there is that. Now that mining is getting nixed missions are the only thing really left to do since asteroids are a 1 day thing unless you want to pinkslip your ship. When the whole thing is not even tied to any real economic part of the game via the taxes collected, products made via ore gathering or soon to be mining units to fill ore orders, pay industrials to make the parts, pilots to do the logistics, or pilots to escort them to their destination. The whole thing is disjointed and disconnected and causing inflation anyhow. But without any meaningful purpose to it in terms of building some kind of government type system and actual civ concepts of why its there in the first place its pointless even though it was supposed to be a big thing.
  13. Yup thats how it works and it seems intentional to limit how much money and time it takes to run missions. VR just seems like its there to build bigger ships, force people into creating extra space stations, elevators, or ground box constructs on top of it for the barrier to entry to make any money off of it or slowboat and get your ship pink slipped. Either way you are spending hundreds of millions or forced to be in a large org or build a network of randos and hope they do it right. Not to mention the hours of time traveling and waiting. On one hand the system needs to be free up from all the red tape and or allow players to use what they build to make money but I think if this were to happen it would come with new strings and conditions or weight to the boxes. But on the other hand you are just replacing the current system with the same thing and opening it up to everyone who could participate as it is now for 7mil per person round trip to probably way less than that to do the same thing for more gasp expenses even though I would love if they did NQ seems bent on punishing rather than liberating their limits and red tap with even more limits and red tape every chance they get.
  14. Checkmate NQ. I think it summed this situation up when Pann said we have two groups asking to delete scans or keep them and we dont want to wipe their hard work and we have a situation where are are caught in the middle and dont want to cut the baby in half. To which I say you might not want to cut the baby in half as you are attempting to strangle it in the crib when in reality its not even born yet and all of it is hypthetical to begin with. Demeter exposes fundamental critical flaws in their initial flawed game design under JC's helm that pretty much developed them into a corner that is game ending to the point that it will require a complete rework if not ground up rebuild to make DU feasable going forward. Why? (TLDR version) JC had a failed vision and hired a bunch of yes men/women who followed him and continue to keep following his misunderstanding of what is was they were trying to emulate and not make it their own. Going with a voxel game not bothing to do the research that it sounds good but is still not technically feasable in terms of data costs, internet bills, and performance and not knowing it would limit a space game to a single solar system since any additional solar system basically compounds the problem rather than using a hybrid of static mesh worlds you can build voxels onto in order to have enough performance to justify expansions. Then inviting the building communities of the failed games the tried Voxelization with the promise of Space Landmakr combined with Space engineers. The builder community killed any chance of PvP and the PvP community killed off the builders along with new players. Setting unrealistic expectations for mega orgs by feeding them and not establishing factions instead and doubling down by constantly feeding then misunderstanding that not limiting them and being forced to put out feeble attempts to slow them down while crushing everyone else with misguided updates that take out more then is added to the game. Because of all of that now needoing to pivot and remove and limit mining in order to cut costs to up performance, add a vertex tool that takes from that performance, and then fill it back up with hundreds of thousands more TU's, miners, containers, transfer units, machines to produce them, and making the world more desolate. At the same time not understanding that Taxes didnt work in the first place with the Finite Resource pool then turning it Infinite when the game was not designed for it which forced the Ore to be made more "Rare and less Propigated" which further compounds the issues since anyone 6 months from now that comes back will likely never play anything higher than a T1-2 version of the game since that is the only ore they will ever get and the progression they will experience. Taxes yet again meant to slow down mega orgs that further creates unbalance since NQ wont get rid of scans and they will instantly take all the tiles worth anything and make more than they are taxed while everyone else experiences the full weight of the tax and forced to pay for it with T1 mats which wont be worth anything since everyone will be doing the same thing with dwindling returns and a limited production of ore since there are more sinks than influx to the system. NQ now making the game based on Ore Per Month to align with their sub model which makes it as such as you now have to mine asteroids once per week or run missions to cover tax, and log in to use charges and beyond that there is no reason to actually play the game. Because of that it makes it so that production of consumables like space gas, warp cells, and even scrap will be in short supply since people will need to sell ore for tax and they will be the only thing worth anything since this update completely negates the need for atomospheric parts since spacestations are not taxed and all content is space based now. Ore transfers will take a year of subs to get a full container of ore so PvP will suffer even if people are forced to slow boat between planets except for this with ore monopolies which will use warp cells with their ship scanning scripts on XS ships to hunt for anyone to kill until nobody goes between planets except for VR. When people start to default on their taxes and the month after demeter goes live and those people have nothing to come back to there is no need to play at all and they will tell their friends to write this game off. Which will force NQ to knee jerk forced updates like Territory wars since nobody is playing, building, moving ore, traveling, fighting, and those with ore monopolies roll over everything that still remains its game over since there is litterally nothing left and you let them win the game long ago. There are no moves left NQ is willing to do that can take them out of checkmate, they simply just dont have a budget to rebuild the game from the ground up. They have developed themselves into a corner starting with the conception and direction JC took this game down. And with the comment of we dont want to cut the baby in half it shows that NQ will never reign in mega orgs that have and will continue to kill the game since NQ knows where their bread is buttered and keeps feeding them. Funny since most of them are likely alpha backers who will never pay them a cent through their packages and armed with 3 beta keys that wont pay them until launch. The taxes are aimed at them since they have been spoon fed this whole time by the devs who dont know how to punish them properly to slow them down and arbitrarily do things like say "hahaha boohoo you dont want to pay taxes" and at the same time hand them all the resources and prevent everyone else from getting them going forward or progressing beyond a T2 version of this game since the ore is rare and even sparse then before and all the metadata they are using is based on them with a flat tax when misunderstanding they are handing them all the T3+ ore which makes all their tiles profitable since everyone else will be sitting on T1 tiles and lucky if you can even find a T2 ore tile and stuck with all the taxes aming it not worth putting down a TU. The real issue nobody is even considering is that because the planets and moons are all voxel based and not a static mesh the Voxel construct of the planetary bodies no longer matters at all and it was the sole reason we are stuck in a cramped solar system in the first place since it is not feasable to have anything beyond it and so we are just grasping at straws and trying to punish ourselves even more for no reason. If there were multiple solar systems, deep space, or a universe to spread out in none of this would matter. But the plan was always to ransack this solar system and then open up jump gates you can spawn camp so that mega orgs could have their own solar system to themselves and wield infinite ore against the server anyhow which always sounded dumb to begin with when everyone is stuck with a picked over carcass to fight back with. The only thing that will save this game is a full rebuild from the ground up but seeing the mediocre dev team they have and the things they are deadset on actually making seem to me they are incapable of doing that unless they clean house and bring in actually MMO developers.
  15. I kinda feel like the packages themselves are a bit heavier than it says on the description as well as it would be nice if it also said whos package was whos and where it was going as it can be a nightmare sometimes. Been saying that you should be able to pick up multiple packages since missions came out as if you got a 50+ box ship you should be able to use it since most people either dont want to do it, the whole system is cumbersome, or you are stuck waiting for them to VR to do it at all.
  16. Started with 15 and now down to me and my best friend these days. Just a never ending stream of people who join and dont want to mine like 8-16 hours a day, run missions, get bored building, and never come back. A couple I talk to from time to time who ask how the games going like every 6mo but im starting to think there is like 100 people actually playing this game with alpha accounts and beta keys or alts.
  17. They never bothered to set up a ruleset for territory war or developed any ground game or AA guns to even make defending a battle from above to even be a thing. No guns, nothing of the sort suggesting that it will happen. Thing is when they just arbitrarily decide to just do it its game over.
  18. Im glad some people enjoy whatever they are given I really am and just accept it for what it is until the lights go out. Had they actually spent the time developing an MMO and making actual AI/NPC and aiming to make an MMO version of Emperion this game would not be in the dire strait its currently in if there was anything to do other than grind to do pretty much nothing since bases have no real functional purpose and DU barely even qualifies as a PvP game since nobody really wants to enguage in it. Dont get me wrong its got promise but DU is like 10% of the framework of a potential game.
  19. Its not like a crypto mining pool where the less people = better hash rates. Less people = less ore entering the pool being converted to quanta to pay for the taxes and getting less while working more for it. Paired with less parts procuded, less pending capital for expansion/progression and pretty much turning the whole focus to owning tax free space stations and rendering atmo parts pretty much useless in the process.
  20. If they were smart they could just give you 5 free tiles and in the Territory management system just let the player decide which tiles they want to apply it to. Since I have no idea how it will work with existing tiles and they never said these tiles included industries or mining units being present on them so I would love to actually make my HQ tile(s) my HQ tiles but they just tried to gives a candybar because they felt bad for killing my puppy but the terms and condistions need to be spelled out for these TUs. And honestly I really wish they would for once incentivise actually playing the game with some kind of loyalty system like most MMOs have these days with logging in you get some random perk like hers your usual 150k quanta but consequtive logings give like some kind of random element, voxel box, rations, skins if you play the whole month or somehow dependant on time played that month. Then apply that to ore output from tiles for like 1L per hour across the board for consqutive logins with no upward limit and reset completely if you miss a day and not bind the system to some 24 hour timer but anytime during that day based on when the day actually starts. This system wouldnt be bad if it got better over time with gains over time.
  21. This system could work if it came with a login bonus that added 1L per hour every consecutive day you logged in to all ore pools in a tile. This system could work if NQ had the forethought to totally remove the Element HP Talent Tree, add a prospecting tree, or Clone Talent System and add it as a tab for collective organization research and added a Prospecting Tree which had every single ore by tier and multiple branches for output per hour, lower the L per hour timer to a half hour, or any number of things that required millions of exp collectively where the exp is bound to the player but adds to the org collective for various aspects of the game like an RTS. They could have made it so that the gains got better the longer you were able to keep the tiles to make it actually worth sitting on tiles as it adds to the value to make up the difference of taxes lost. They could have made it so that "Ore wasnt "rarer than before or more sparsely populated" with keeping scans valid post Demeter so that the reduced ore types arent monopolized and anyone could progress and added higher tiers the longer you were there as hidden ore types that are unlocked as you go again like an RTS by your progress. They could have made tax based on whats actually in the tile as the price tag to buy the tile as im sure the tax should be a lot higher by the tiers of ore that are in it since 1 mil per week for new players learning to play seems more counter productive than anything. They could have had a minimal tax like 100k per tile and brought back in destrible elements or useage based mainenence that requires some repairs by how much you are doing. Use a door, switch, industry unit, mining unit, atmo/space engine, etc it take hp off slowly and loses efficiency doing the same thing as mining units efficiency mini game does but uses scrap rather than some artifical output sink you can just overcome by adding an additional mining unit down to overcome to always have 100% efficiency without ever having to waste charges on T1 Ore via Mining Units. There are tons of ways they could have played this that does not kill the game. Flat Tax is not the way to go vs property value playing into how much tax and what you do. It makes no sense that tiles with multiple cores full of industry elements costs the same as a new player with an XS shack with nothing in it. They could have made the tile grid so that as soon as you buy up a cluster it unlocks some kind of RNG based higher tier ore that unlocks. Seeing as it now costs 16 mil to transfer a tile or if you want to abandon it someone could come claim it it could work. Or if you buy up 7 clusters it unlocks RNG hased T3 ores. up and up so that you could potentially get some kind of random T5 ore anywhere and its not so one sided.
  22. Someone finally gets it. The ore isnt infinate its super limited and even more limited by tier level when each tier is now "even more rare and sparsely populated". So we are getting less off the top, less in general, less location, and being pushed to spend and burn as much as possible to keep tiles and our arm bent to do limited 1 day content via asteroids or running missions which will grind to a hault with the limited ore pool to make space gas at some point soon due to the ore pool. If the taxes start abandoning constructs and tiles there is no reason to play so the ore pool shrinks with everyone who gets litterally kicked from the game who goes on vaction, gets covid, etc for a month. You cant take a break and still there is not much reason to play even if you log on beyond topping off your miners or just letting your sanctuary tile run. If anything they are limiting many aspects of the game ore output, industry, combat, voxels/voxel complexity, quanta, and most of all progress. Never seen a sandbox where you cant do much and every time you want to grab a shovel they keep reaching for your wallet and telling you all the terms and conditions.
  23. Fixed my jabs even though she said she loves hearing about all the creative ways to die an a fire her words not mine she openly asked for it. But seriously though can NQ please just stop bringing her into vids until she can stay on point? Its not personal its just gaming.
