  1. "No wipe" for me means no progress wipe. Like no wealth wipe, no constructs wipe no quanta/skillpoints wipe. How are they supposed to change biomes without regenerating the planet surface ? I think they will do it closer to release so once the game launches and many new players come in the don't come into an all barren, holes everywhere world but into a pretty fresh one.
  2. They can change current industry, they will add new one, let the old one work for about a month and then make it t1 only. You should upgrade your industry in that month. Ground wipe is even more likely, they will wipe everything and you need to reclaim it and get magic blueprints... Look at roadmap at login, how they are supposed to do the "better ore distribution" and biomea thing without ground wipe ? What they should keep is our wealth and skill points not placement.
  3. There are now "leak rumors" about industry requiring some kind of recipes. Let's see if some really have inside knowledge.
  4. That event is time limited, like you should get there and do stuff asap. It started Tuesday - 17:30 for me. Yea, I can watch some folks streaming stuff from time to time while I am in the office and annoy them in discord asking how it's going...
  5. If there is nothing new in the next patch, I will be jumping on ships with my character inventory full of catalyst 3. Not because I am bad person, because I am bored.
  6. If you do things intentionally I believe GMs will step in. Like if someone's base is blocked by walls of dynamic Ls GMs will issue a warning and move them etc. Then sanction the person if it repeats. If he tries again then he needs to pay as he needs a new account....
  7. You can't even imagine what happens if it gets trial/free2play. It like sending a container of shit into the particles collider. Wanna abuse someone ? Register 20 accounts for free and drop stuff on him, block him etc. We need GMs even when we have subscription model. What you do if i put L core wall next to your cool space base in safe zone ?
  8. Probably bad CPU thermal paste or something, that shouldn't be that high. 9700 has 4 cores 8 threads isn't it ? Maybe DU just doesn't want to make use of the 2 threads on single core thingy so it leaves it to other things? (processing power of 4 threads compared to processing power of 8 threads on 4 core 8 threads cpu is not that big, it's like 20% or so AFAIK in general purpose apps, in apps that are heavy on calculations the gain is minimal) so I wouldn't worry about threads. 4 is OK for you CPU. it can as well be that NQ did it intentionally to leave some CPU power to some other stuff as DU can really get your hamster busy.
  9. Speculating: It can be that the exponential price raise is the price of defense so if you want defense you need to make all the terries same-owner and pay the price. This makes sense as price of terri units is just pocket change. I cannot link a source but it was said that "defense will have advantage over offence" and it's logical. If you want to mount an assault on someone, be prepared to fight on their terms. On the other hand it's logical that the defense mechanic shouldn't be easily abused by a person with 20 alts dropping terri units on all planets every other day (as they are cheap to make and will be hard to destroy) so he can use it as temporary safe heaven while it is reinforced. (They will most likely introduce reinforcement similar to eve, so you don't need to defend your terri at 5am). NQ seems to take a lot from eve-online(and I think it's good as I like eve). So you may get more feeling about it if you have played it. Don't think you will get any info from NQ as they don't 100% know it yet themselves.
  10. You asked why and how by the lore and I gave you an acceptable explanation. Remember, I was the guy sleeping in the cryo next to you. If you drop your half built speeder on my hex I want to blow you up. I can't on sanct/alioth/tadis/madis, OK. Let me do it on Jago. If I can blow you up "just for fun" and see good a animation of your ship disintegrating I will do it too. I am playing a space ship game here and it has guns! Don't take space-pixels too seriously bro.
  11. That's human nature, we are predatory omnivores and are very territorial creatures. In some countries it's legal to shoot a person for entering your property without permission. Why I can't do it in a computer game ? We would kill each other during the trip if not cryo.
  12. Valid points and great explanation. I am at the same stage as you, I did join some small orgs tho. Some people got to this point even before us as some don't like all the content. - Mining is all same after you mined your first mega, some people just don't want to come home from work and dig for hours. - Building is not for everyone (I can't even paint a damn bus to look like a bus) so I don't spend much time on ships as they will be ugly anyway - Engineering - it's just too easy to build ships, slap 10 L engines 50 wings and it flies. - Production/Economy, interesting but that's until you reach 10 assemblies running beacons and links that make your PC freeze for 10 seconds (you don't have to mine all the ore yourself, you can buy it so it's not that much content either). Prices always drop, economy is still barebones with bots and every patch can ruin all your plans. - Exploration - The 4000L wrecks don't sound that appealing given that the process is very tedious. - PVP - impossible to do alone, boring, broken. Due to those reasons "endgame" is not that far away even for casuals if they don't 100% overplay each and every available activity. We need reasons to do stuff. Goals. Enemies. DRAMA LAMA. I think many people will be happily mining on Alioth when they see that battleship of their org getting bigger and bigger and thinking about capturing <insert planet name> for themselves.
  13. Thanks ! That would be fantastic. Having like examples of what exactly happens in some scenarios answers a lot of questions as if we even come up with some new question it may already be answered by re-reading example scenario.
  14. Yea that CM is like representative democracy but only big orgs participate. Stupid concept imho.
  15. Cool, there will always be a competition on the adjuster M. You need craptons of them. Edit: and by the way, if you want to have any effect on the economy, I advise you to have clear lines on: 1) Extraction 2) Transportation 3) Production 4) Distribution Only 1 and half of 2 will happen in PVP zones. If you plan to "stimulate the economy" by digging 4 hours a day and building elements from what you dig - it's like fighting climate change by throwing ice cubes into the ocean.
  16. Sandbox - means you kinda do whatever you want and there is no clear path Massive Multiplayer - means game is optimized to be played in large groups of people. (For ex. space engineers is multiplayer but not massive). You don't have a path, so it's a sandbox (you don't have anything to do so it's more just a box without sand atm). If you want to play it solo, you can. You will be in disadvantage, you will be outnumbered and outgunned. Your path, you chose it. Obtaining high tier resources in pvp-only zone that is claimed and actively protected by a 1k-ish alliance? Doable, you have a high total chance of success after 1000 attempts I guess. The other guy starts digging after logging in. Your choice. I don't play solo(boring) but don't play in big orgs either.
  17. I think it's just lowercase "g" and it cuts the bottom of it so it looks like q.
  18. yea, at least the pvp ones are claimable and you know it was really built by a player and lost in combat. The NQ ones are like: here is the crap we buried in dirt, found it ? cool, dig it out, get 1 engine, go on capsu... err novean. But they can now show that like their are doing something other than fixing linked container for 1 month over and over.
  19. It's not like you can't see footage from the game and read forum what people think about this game before you purchase.
  20. it's just a "v" at the login screen, there is no reason whatsoever to search for them. I don't think I will approach one even if I see it. It just don't worth the time and all you probably see is just a destroyed ship. We will see a lot of destroyed ships next patch.
  21. Wrecks are crap. if you want to salvage some I can drop you some coords of ships we left dead in pvp zone, you can go salvage them but no anti-grav there either for sure.
  22. If all you want is mine some, build some, explore some, quest or mission - do that (once the later is implemented) why do you care about other people fighting each other somewhere ? They fight there for high tech resources and risking high amount of their resources to get it. You can still use your "safe space engine" and mine all you need for it by harvesting rocks on sanct. No you don't need any higher tier items, what's the point of higher tier items if they don't have any challenge to get them ? Imagine that your basic engine is the highest tier and stop caring about others. For those who don't want to cooperate or fight with others, can I ask why are you playing MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER online game ?
  23. I would say the opposite, let's hide the game under a rock until it fixed so it has a chance once it is worked on. People will not play what it is now. Getting people "back" is much harder than getting them "in".
  24. The only question now is when does the patch go live so we take shelter before shit hits the fan.
  25. Force respawn has no meaning as to the "exploits" because alt-f4 does the same regarding current speed stopping etc just without removing your inventory.
