If you are a alpha player and i am a beta player i can 100% lie and tell you that you used bug X to make 10000000 quanta.
And you can't say you did not because you can't talk about the bug.
So i can acuse you and you cant defend your self.
Aka coward.
How have you not been permabanned yet?

AhhahahahahAHAHAHHahahaha.
Just lol if you actually believe that. -

No it doesnt mean that it is on one server, why do you post up this COMPLETE LIE, is means it is on a cloud of servers across the world which are knitted together into a single shard. "This is basic stuff" Ironic coming from someone talking complete bullshit with clearly no actual idea how the tech works. NQ have been honest that they needed to make money to beef up the server meshing (I can explain what that means if you like).
I have no issues with people being pissed off with NQ and the game but when people with zero understanding start talking like they are an authority, jog on.
You seem to be irrationally angry at something.
Perhaps you should take some deep breaths and realize it's not that big of a deal.

that permissions in this game is one of the most convoluted, and poorly conceived systems I've ever seen in a video game
huh? it couldn't be simpler.
See what tag your territory unit has
Create an RDMS policy, add the unit tag, search for and add player name(s), add what rights you want to share.Done.
Took me about 2min to figure it out and I watched zero tutorials.

Yes, you can.
Get a second email address, pay $20 for another 3-month sub, claim a hex next to your main's hex, and give your main dig permissions.Additional hexes may be obtained for the same entry fee.
I've done this once so far. I'm tempted to do it more.

This should be in YouTube format....
What the hell does that mean?
The OP's post is in perfectly fine formatting. -

Speaking of which are the servers down? Error 106 for me.
Apparently that means that the servers are in dev-only access mode.
e. .. why did you put your email address as your display name? .. noone does that. Ever.

Nice guide. I've found that my experience in Kerbal Space Program can be applied very well in this game. I'm thrilled that it does.. first non-KSP game I've played that does stuff like this.

The tech behind this is incredibly complex and has never been done before.
Press F to doubt. They've had how many years to work on it?

You may find this video inspirational.
I've found myself tempted to attempt to recreate that hoverbike in DU.

you missing 3 important points
And you missed my point. I created this thread as a discussion about a current gameplay element and what its future would be regardless of any future wipes.
Also, I suspect that the time until resources are depleted may be much less than half a year, especially on Sanctuary and the moons of the planets inside the safe zone.

Yeah. This other thread is a great example.
Since the launcher / game login screen has no server status info or useful error messages, you get posts like the following:
QuoteGame is just not working after today's update. My friend and I are both getting the same error. Back to Alpha?
and my reply
QuoteIt means the servers are down. They took them down roughly an hour ago to do database maintenance which the ingame message said would last ~2 hours.
Why the players have to inform other players of this.. lol.
e. go to try to log in right now and
Any newbie would be like.. uhhh... what?
Nope, no problem on the player's end. Just another thing that makes me wonder WTF they actually tested in the Alpha.

and I can bet my house on the fact that it will be nowhere near 1 Million at any single time. I would be surprised if it was even 5% of that figure tbh (50k).
Based on the number of claimed territories on Sanctuary, I think the actual number is maybe 5k at most at any given time.
Their server backend has a long way to go. I keep getting weird errors and bugs while trying to mine.
One of the weirdest is the parameter not set which makes the last mine task mine the smallest possible size. Why would it do that? Why wouldn't it just .. not mine anything?

Enough wings to give high altitude lift for a shallow ascent path to orbit.
A vertical wing/stabilizer to allow atmo turning ability.
Hover engines / vertical boosters to get the ship off the ground.
Enough atmo thrust to get it past the 10% atmo barrier before space engines start working. I think about 3G at ground level is good.
Enough atmo fuel to allow you to get to orbit twice and land, with a comfortable safety margin.
Enough atmo brakes to slow the ship to a stop in a reasonable time.
Enough space thrust to allow acceleration away from the planet without falling back into it, as even at 1% atmosphere, the lift from wings can be considerable.
Enough space fuel to allow acceleration to a speed that gives a reasonable travel time between planets. Preferably about 4-5x, as you may need extra if you get disconnected (since ships do not retain their momentum yet...)
Enough space retro brakes to allow deceleration in a reasonable time (G accel roughly matching space engine accel is good) to planetary atmosphere insertion without burning up.
A full set of reaction thrusters to allow decent maneuverability. ~12-16 is good.

There's definitely been a lot of complaints about the starter speeder/racer blueprints not able to rebuild their crafts after disassembly. Missing ECU / hovercraft controller even though they're the same items.

Someone in a forum post here asked about falling behind due to the beta not working for them over a week now.
This reminded me about EVE, where you can package up skills and resell them to others. Will that be an option in Dual Universe? Or it could be done differently, in reselling unused skill points.
You do realize this would result in whales having an army of alts to funnel skill points to their mains, correct? Talent progression would be based on how wealthy one is IRL rather than time spent ingame.

Error 100 generally means the login servers are down. People have asked for this to be more clearly indicated in the launcher but we have no ETA for when it will be implemented.
-
I have seen no talk of planetary resource regeneration, yet.
To take a quick look at some other games with similar gameplay elements:
Space Engineers has infinite asteroids, and its planet deposits are far richer than Dual Universe's.
Eve Online's asteroids respawn every day.
Empyrion has meteorites that fall on a planet if all deposits of a type are mined.
No Man's Sky has basically infinite resources even on a single planet.
Factorio has a basically infinite map with resource deposits getting larger and larger as one gets further from the center.
Oxygen Not Included allows rockets to be launched to planets to retrieve resources.
Surviving Mars has the Mohole wonder which gives basically infinite resources once constructed.
What mechanisms will be in place for this in Dual Universe? I am especially concerned about this as some resources can only safely be obtained from relatively small moons, and once those moons are mined out entirely (I see this as inevitable considering the territory scanner mechanic and how many people are in the larger organizations), there will be no easy way for new players to obtain them without needing to resort to market trade. Even venturing further, the resources are limited.

It would kill the current game we have now, the 10 links limitation making us play satisfactory in DU. Is it good or bad? This is the eternal debate of "should you casualize your game?".
Using ingame scripting to do innovative automating is hardly 'casualizing'.

2. It would be to powerfull, we could automate the crafting of everything with a simple setup
And? Why would that be undesirable? Versatile automation is cool, good and fun.
Also, that simple setup would never reach the throughput of a dedicated factory.
Water hexes on Sanctuary have no ore deposits?

Scanned a water hex for Kerjava on the discord. It had no ore deposits. At all. WTF
This is a bug, right?
