    Hello, I began on the forums a ways back and I had my eye on the development of this game since the very beginning.
     
    I had seen the original website before the posting forum was opened there, I only happened to search for the game again to see if any progress had been made after those original posts had been done away with and everything moved over to these newer forums.
     
    I had a long pause recently where I haven't had much to say, but allot has been happening to me. A few months ago I signed on to a lease to own program for my own semi and that has been pretty cool.
     
    Unfortunately my dear Father passed away on 12/22/15 and I have been struggling to deal with that. I was close to him, and he had been warming up to my younger brother recently he left everyone on fairly good terms. Its too bad he ran out of time and couldn't divorce his second wife before his passing though I'm not sure if he had been serious about that or not, I never understood how he could love a gold digger. He was very proud of both his son's, a responsible man who always went to work and gave proper notice otherwise. He was wild in his younger days and caused much friction with his first wife my mother, though she held no grudge nor did he, he will be missed by those who truly loved him. Nobody expected his death, he was alone in the house, and had complained about some chest pain to his second wife took 2 aspirin and went to sleep, he died peacefully without struggle; may he rest in peace now.
     
     
    I am a gamer, though I've been losing faith in the gaming industry to produce anymore quality games, it seems projects are so big now the only things that can be financed are games with tons of DLC and garbage. There is a beacon of hope in gaming such as teams like Novaquark and probably other small development studios I am not aware of.
     
    I appreciate being called out for the early alpha testers, I will continue to represent the largest portion of gamers possible, while nullifying certain aspects that sound fun but actually harm games and make them unmemorable.
     
     
    I have drafted a few possible government forms that could be used in the game, but I have to accept that even though I am still young, I am not as free as some people and therfor am not going to be able to be a single dictator of a guild and strongman support from many people - such guilds are short lived anyways once the guild leader 'dies' and everyone splits up into other guilds.
     
    No, instead I'd like to suggest the creation of an Imperial Senate, and confederate many guilds towards the singular Imperial goals. be we good or bad, or an ambiguous and ambivalent force in the Dual Universe, universe, we would vie to expand conquer, exploit, train and recruit newbies and more.
     
    I may post some more on myself here if I think of something.

    Thanks for reading about me, spend all the time you can with your loved ones and try to be on good terms with them because you never know.

    Not entirely sure how I came across DU, but I did, and at first I thought it was just like any other space MMO, something like SWTOR or maybe Elite Dangerous. I was like meh and moved on. Later on it popped up in my search suggestions and I gave it another look, read through the devblogs, looked through the graphics and concept art, and I was like, this is something different. Checked out the forums, met quite a few interesting personalities/fanatics, joined the forums myself, and so here I am now happily part of the Dual family

    How realistic will living and moving things in the game, particularly humans, appear? The other day I happened upon Square Enix's new animation of Hatsune Miku, and the realistic-ness of it was absolutely incredible. I would have thought it to be an actual human had I not known better.

    Wasn't basically every sizeable ship in Star Wars a carrier of some sort? Considering the vast options of player customization and creativity, multipurpose ships such as a cross between battleship and carrier could make for some interesting gameplay.

    Hacking the system of a ship or building could be another component in combat. Say during space combat that you hijack the opponent ship's shield system, rendering them completely vulnerable, but that the same could also happen to you. It could either become a powerful asset or pitfall and add to the realistic aspects of the game, as cybersecurity and cybercrime are a very real problem in our world today.
     
    The question would be the format in which the hacking would take place. Would it be in an actual programming language (possibly LUA?), or in a fictional, simplified code, or perhaps it would be unique to that particular system.

    There will likely be many styles of gameplay, strategic being one of them, to avoid having the classic "power in numbers" being the sole decider in combat/normal gameplay. Communications will be a central part of succeeding, especially in combat and in large organizations, because it will be more difficult to coordinate all of the efforts of a larger group or when the adrelanine is pumping during combat.

    How do you think we might be able to manage spies, so that they still have a place in the game but don't become ridiculously overpowered. 
     
    Say if a person has infiltrated a guild and worked their way up. now they have access to terminals and stuff. they start messing with settings on ships in critical battles. or altering tag settings in combat.
    .. should they just be allowed to reign total chaos if they are dedicated to spending years of time infiltrating organisations. and are clever enough of bastards to pull it off??
     
    Would it be better to make spy more of a quick infiltration type, that sneaks onto ships and hacks things. gets info on their Resonating Frequencies, Shields / photon weps. and does sneaky stuff like locking all the doors on the ship or turning off the Atmosphere.
     
    Im not saying people wouldn't still spend years infiltrating organisations and making friends, only to backstab them. but If there were a more 'fun' path offered . maybe we will see less of the negative and hate filled kind of spy? - the kind that could really turn people away from the game

    Agreed. The difficulties of organizing and implementing a marriage mechanic just isn't worth the little bit of extra social interaction that people could potentially receive, and again it wouldn't agree with the whole feel of the game. This kind of stuff is probably best left to purely social games (ex. IMVU)

    Oh yes different themed ships would be absolutely gorgeous. Imagine an oriental themed ship like Saffi suggested with the red and black and gold trim. Beautiful. Or an Old World style combined with holograms. Similar to steampunk which is very nice.
     
    Aesthetics are my favorite.

    Also, would there be a difference in the abilities of the different body models? For example, would a tall person be able to run faster, or a small body be able to crawl into a smaller space that a larger person couldn't?
