  1. I made a comment with an English expression (regularly used) but the translation to the moderator's language was something bad. Got a 3 day ban (on the 1st time was banned) I was not warned. And I talked to several moderators about why I was banned, they did not even tell me the person who banned me or the reason. Just "STFU and come back in 3 days".
  2. NQ as said this is a 1st iteration of PVP. I assume they already have several changes in mind. But here are my ideas: Radar range should allways be above weapon range. Weapon range should be much bigger but with lower effective range. Shooting above efective range should decrease chance to hit and damage.
  3. Its near impossible to make a efficient ship that flies with a full container. Because a full container is a very subjective measure. A full container of silicon is 20-30 times less massive then gold.
  4. Seats connect to guns and radars. (not ammo) Guns connect to ammo Also gunner m connects to m weapons. Not other sizes of guns. Can only do 1 radar. I will check later if its a hard limitation or just pvp points.
  5. The op is complaining because he probably got killed by one of this Meta ships. I know ppl that lost ships to pirates using meta ships and i know pirates who are winning because they use meta ships. You have the right to not belive it. But the op and most ppl here have no interest in disbelief on facts that we have seen. Get your self a S core with the your proper design. And go tank the pirates on ion, theoma, jago. Then tell us how it went.
  6. It all depends on how much abusive you make the design. How many L space engines can you put on a XS face? Only a also cubic S core also full of L space engines will be able to catch up. If you add to that the glitches of space movement, the pvp border and the huge acelaration changes, its nearly impossible to kill a XS core unless the guy does not know how to play
  7. Does it really matter how i got them? Wont my example be valid for now up into the future? Pirates will not be poor ppl, at least not after 1 successful run. They can easily buy all their gear.
  8. Is it? We made one in 30min 2 weeks ago. It was even atmo capable. 1L radar, 1 L rail, 2 seats. Just hold using arrow keys... Zero difficulty.
  9. There is no other pvp. And there wont be for a while. By that time NQ will probably have fixed this. So there is no point of using it as example.

  11. Sure. This makes guns on a freighter useless. What he needs is a escort. But this situation denounces the current meta. Only one core size is usefull in pvp. (XS) Only one radar size is usefull in pvp. (L) Only 3 weapons are usefull in pvp (rail L, M and Laser L) Only one shape is usefull in pvp (cube) Why do we have all those elements if those are useless? NQ needs to do some proper math and balance this.
  12. The problem with this logic is that it's not up to their freighter to decide when the engage happens and who to engage.
  13. The unbalance comes from freighters having to be big cores while attackers can be XS. That makes putting weapons on a freighter 100% useless. The freighter can only warp or die.... Radar range should allways be higher then weapons range, for any core size... Ans the onlu bonus a xs ship should have is less chance to hit it.
  14. And who in their right mind would acelarate against a battle cruiser? Pirates match the target velocity and slowly get within range of using their wapons. And stay at that range, compensating the target's attenpts to run away or get closer. Even if the target has friends, the pirate only has to attack the closest one, and maintain range. If some other gets closer, he switches target and does the same. If that battle does not produce results, he can just retreat without ever risking his ship.
  15. I really dont get why we can't debate moderator actions publicly. Are they afraid of something? Dont they stand behind their ruling with logic? In real life public debate helps to make sure courts dont abuse their power. And i have seen far too many abuses of power on this DU discord. It is preferable to talk about the ruling with the mod than going on youtube or reddit to do it.
  16. No. If you have the biggest range (L elements) with the smallest counter range (XS core) with the highest acelaration(cube full of engines), you can maintain range and shoot without being shot until your ammo runs out or your enemy is dead.
  17. No. For S and XS targets, the radar identification happens below railgun range.
  18. This discussion has been around pretty much since pre alpha. Some ppl think that players will unite and create safe havens, with government and police. Others, like me, think this will be like rust or worse. But it will be a player made civilization. We just dont know if its a civilization like startrek or like Apocalipse now Camboja's indians. There was another road to this... NQ could implement PVP and security zones with NPCs. But that was out of the table from day 1.... I will be here from day -7 of beta to the end of DU, ripping and tearing until there is nothing left.
  19. The org advantages get exponential with the org numbers. We are not even talking about solo here. A 10 member org will not be able to compete in anyway with a 100 member org. And this is one of the advantages the bigger org has. The world you guys want for this game is a world where some single org won. The world want for this game is a world where the big org needs to work to maintain leadership.
  20. It seems that your point is about ppl having to work for the knowledge and experience if knowing the elements and knowing how the game reacts to the elements. But that knowledge is easy to (unfairly) get without a build sandbox. PPL that join a big org, will have all parts available to them. And all they did was having a friend on an org. That's not having worked for the knowledge. You can also watch streams and get knowledge without playing the game. So at the end. All you are preventing from not having a sandbox, is that lone players get screwed. This blocks the inflow of random new players. While making the gap between big orgs and lone players even bigger.
