Shadow
Hello NovaQark, Quick question from a curious developer here : what are the technologies used in dual universe development (languages, frameworks, hosting) ? I saw you were using Amazon Cloud, will you host the games servers there too ? And, on a similar subject, where do you plan to locate the games servers (geographical position) ? Will they be spread over the glob or centralized in one datacenter ? Regards,Shadow
Astrophil
Well...I imagine Novaquark would be somewhat reluctant to share every secret of DU's development. There is competition after all.
Shadow
Hi Astrophil, Well, I can understand it. No problem if they just reply "confidential". But it doesn't cost anything to ask and my questions remain quite general. Regards, Shadow
michaelk
Unigen2 as the game engine. The use Python, golang, C#, and C++ on the backend (yes all 4). They use more than one database tech (Postgres and MongoDB) in addition to Amazon's DynamoDB and Elastisearch. They use a variety of AWS-specific services; fairly certain the main game servers run off AWS. This is all public info, I'm just a nerdy sleuth. carijay766
Unless theyre redirecting the traffic via AWS (which would explain the lag) theyre using AWS yes.
