  1. Ehh.. that's 2000 warpcells for 10 million Still, seeing how warpcells were going for 3500quanta a piece before this change, having just the schematic cost be 5000 quanta each is indeed quite steep
  2. So effectively, two years of beta has provided us with .. cost reduction and capping what players can do. Normally you'd run the numbers before you start designing something that can accommodate those numbers. NQ is working in full reverse in this regard. And this message pretty much tells us NQ is not done yet.. This implementation clearly is still way too liberal for their goals and so they will put on the limiters even tighter in the weeks ahead . That NQ is comparing their operation to a "private server owned by a friend" just is the icing on the cake and for me really drives home the desperation they feel around keeping their game servers running and the cost this incurs for them. No NQ, this is not "a private server owned by a friend". This is a commercial enterprise where you charge more than your average private server would cost per account per month to provide less and less freedom and move away further and further from what you set out to build back in 2014. You were supposed to be building a single shard world where hundreds of thousands (if not "millions") of players can interact, build, fight and have fun "without limitation". It seems you are not able to deliver that from what we're seeing here. And no, that is not toxic, unconstructive or unfair. It is a realistic observation based on which I form the opinion I am entitled to have and share as feedback. Feel free to show me I'm wrong as so far, I see nothing that even comes close to doing so.
  3. I guess I was wrong ... After setting up 10 alts using summer DAC, teleporting them to my base and giving them 10 million each, they are now all copying schematics to the effect that in 4 days I can build _anything_ .. No need to travel, no load on the servers, no need to interact with anyone and no hassle.. just wait 4 days and we're golden.. I guess we're all wrong and this masterful rework by NQ is working as intended /s
  4. Oh, I agree entirely that NQ is just copying the "top level" of the mechanic and ignores all the underlying ones that feed into it and actually make it functional. And this one is no different .. A good example of early feedback on this I found is HERE and the same applies for this change too.. I did actually post on that several times, with some detailed feedback and suggestions.. which is obviously ignored as NQ may ask for feedback, but does not really care for it as they just ignore it anyway.
  5. Also, this change will hurt construct sellers in a massive way as it will even further reduce the availability of many materials on markets and make making them extremely non-viable. Some ships are designed with small amounts of special honeycomb, before flying around to buy schematics was tedious but doable. Now it becomes a very long process where it takes DAYS to just get schematics. And any of these materials are just not interesting for commercial manufacturing so they are not available on the market at all.
  6. One thing that really irks me here is the inconsistency this new system has with previous systems and with the rest of Industry. Everything is based on tiers being named as Basic, Uncommon, Advanced, Rare and Exotic Schematics are suddenly Tier 1-5 The UI is really terrible > a simple GET SCHEMATIC option in the industry UI would already improve this a lot Now you have to open the industry UI, check which tier and for what type you need, exit the UI, enter the schematic UI and "order" the UI. Better would be open industry > click "GET schematic" and go straight there The schematic UI itself should have a built-in filter by using a tree structure for the list But that would mean you actually have devs who design UI and understand how to get a good UX ..
  7. @tobitege NQ does not want you to play the way you are playing.. they are now force feeding a system where you do NOT produce end-product elements from raw ore. The problem here is that their communication on this is so bad that only if you take a step back and connect the dots does what they appear to plan for become obvious. NQ want DU to have a more EVE style industry gameplay. The idea here is not to be able to do it all, but to create an interaction between industry and markets and with it drive the economy. This is basically still the JC mantra where solo players are not expected/should not be enabled to DIY entire elements from scratch but use markets OR specialize towards specific components and sell those to market. Problem is that the way the game is set up right now, industry is not EVE style at all, it is Factorio/Satisfactory style. The big gamble they seem to be taking is for the wipe to reset all of this and from there see players much more fall in line with the desired style of play. I do not think that will work as the game is not designed the way they want it to play out at all. The big issue here is that the bigger orgs will have no problem doing it all themselves anyway and so exclude themselves entirely from the markets/economy. Unless NQ is able to break that status quo, their idea will fail.
  8. Well.. it's obvious now that NQ has not learned a thing from 0.23 or any of the mistakes they made since.. This is even worse than what I expected they'd come up with. This will destroy what's left of the game's industry player base All the comments, the suggestions, the feedback and reasonable advice is, as expected, completely ignored and NQ just shoved possibly their biggest mistake yet down everyone's throat.
  9. Too complex for NQ to implement, they have pretty much stated as much
  10. So where in this document is the claim you make? As a US company dealing with EU customers, you must comply with GDPR in relation to these customer's data, yes. But that is irrelevant to what you claim here. Anyway, this goes well beyond the scope of this thread so whatever ..
  11. Says who? The website states it is a privately held LLC, which should suffice and allow anyone needing more info to find it within 10 seconds But I'll allow you to prove your claim, where can I find the legal requirement for a private US company (or any private company for that matter) to do this? Please provide me the link to the documentation/regulation. All this is beside the point though, Markee has been around for decades and as he is an official business partner with NQ, I'd expect companies like CCP and NQ to have done their due diligence on vetting their partners. And I am pretty sure Markee knows his legal obligations to a greater extent than you do.
  12. https://store.markeedragon.com/aboutus.php https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_az/L17760100 Something.. something .. do your homework before you make wild and unfounded accusations
  13. LOL @Zarcata Markeedragon has possibly been around longer than you have been alive That you can't find his company registration does not mean he does not have one. He is also an official business partner with NQ @Rhheno When you buy gametime on Markee's site, you get sent a code by email, you enter that code on the DU webpage under "my products"
  14. I think I explained why you are wrong pretty clearly earlier so not going to repeat that
  15. Well sure. On the other hand though, talents are limited and generally do not impact the gam all that much beyond their L4 point.
  16. Yes, there is: The talent system is pretty much a copy of EVE's skill system which means: There is a basic number of points is 600 and then you have a multiplier Each level is 5x the previous one So, at x1 multiplier you get 600,3000,15000,75000 and 375000 respectively And at x10 you get 6000,30000,150000,750000,3750000 Base skills are all x1-x3 multiplier, so these train pretty quickly, certainly to L4 These are the skills new players will train After 2 years, your training will mostly be x6-x15 L5 skills Training ONE L5 talent at x10 is 3,750,000 points Training ALL levels of a x2 talents is 937,200 points So, while your 2yo character trains ONE L5 talent at x10, a new player trains FOUR entire x2 talents L1-L5 There is your catch-up mechanism ..
  17. An advance in talent point for existing players is probably the least impactful of anything else relative to new starters. I've seen a few good explanations of why on the forums, but bottom line is that a new player will catch up to roughly 80% of the capabilities of a 2year old character within 6 months and keep closing that distance. Also, a new player with referral code will start with 1million TP and provided the bonus for activating 2FA remains in place an easy second million. For a new player 2 million TP will be more than enough to instantly be capable of participating in pretty much anything at a very decent level.
  18. It's even worse as he is pretty much making claims this is already part of DU, as in comments like how great of an example the DU economy is with regards to blockchain when it has nothing whatsoever to do with it and all it does is show he is angling for buyers with hype words that do not mean a thing. A major reason for NQ being where it is has been the consistent overpromising and under delivering. And that has not changed at all. They are still trying to sell something they do not have and try to make claims about their project which are simply untrue and easily debunked.
  19. At the time NQ was founded, back in 2014, the term "metaverse" was really not all that well defined yet. JC kind of latched on to the term but never provided a clear vision of how it would fit in the design of DU. I think there was an idea but in the few years following it became quite clear that what NQ was cooking would not be able to fit the "metaverse" theme as it evolved in parallel. Same thing with VR, when NQ started work on DU some choice made were based on the option/possibility to add VR but that too, quickly became clear as being well beyond the possibilities of the engine and the team itself I'm sure. What is unfortunate to me is that NQ never allowed themselves to stop and think about what they might need to change once options like that fell off the table. They never did and because of that, we are now stuck with a pretty limited core game, especially in the context of PVE content and NPCs.
  20. There will not be a full wipe. A wipe where blueprints are preserved is really the minimum, additionally I believe Talent points will be preserved but put back in the pool so you can respec. I've read some comments here about NQ having made the decision on a wipe a long time ago and that the "internal discussion" is not about whether a wipe is happening (as it will), but how/when and to what extent. I do not see NQ preserving much else. And as I do think that we are not all that far away from "release", we will know soon enough.
  21. The wipe will remove everything. I expect we will get to keep core blueprints and get talent points reset and returned to the pool. I do not understand how some can't see the difference between a game mechanic causing loss of "stuf" and NQ resetting the entire game..
  22. There is a difference between gameplay reasons and a server reset/wipe. When a wipe happens, sanctuary will also go. Seeing how NQ just explained why they made haven in the new Q&A (it's a bit of a weak excuse, but anyway), when a wipe happens, Sanctuary will probably go away entirely and may be replaced by a new planet without water like Haven. Just like the "we will not wipe again unless absolutely needed" referred to doing another FULL/GLOBAL wipe, and never implied there would not be a partial wipe like the one we're about to see happen. In fact, I'm pretty sure that was always the plan as there is some good business and marketing reasons to do so for starters. All that is entirely separate from any in game conditions where it is and will remain the case that anything you as a character own on your personal tile on a starter planet will never get lost.
  23. LOL .. Good post though.. And yes, NQ may see it, whether they read it and take it to heart is another matter.. NQ is great at "hearing" but not so much at "listening"
