  3. i believe you cannot have any construct without a core. also im guessing blueprints will have an option of "allow editing" or "disable editing" so that people may not be even able to access the LUA without hacking the core or whatever
  4. if you build it off a blueprint, you cant just make it into another blueprint

  6. We can go back and forth and argue silly crazy complex ways to prevent it. But a t the end of the day it's a game and the only people who will want to have copyright mechanics cant handle the concept that someoen could possibly steal their work and just want a utopian paradice where no crime ever happens, because they cant handle trolling.
  7. by my logic, nq shouldnt enforce copy right protection, people shoudl enforce that themselves if they care about their product. the copyrighter would still have to reverse engineer the ship, and make his own blueprint, unless he can get his hands on the actual blueprint, in which case its the owners fault for being careless with who he gives the blueprints to
  8. the only reason people want NQ to copyright their ships is because they don't want to do their immersive work of finding ways around it.
  9. currently not a thing, but they are looking to make it where you can claim regions in space, otherwise how would asteroids and stations be protected?

  13. tes but if your military is more powerful than the enemy, you could supress them while you surround them, and you can use space teritories against them for surrounding them, i just find the ability to surround someone a little game breaking
  14. and if you build in your territory and expand a building a little it into an unclaimed territory and someone claims it, would part of your building become theirs?
  15. so i was recently thinking, go figure! i wonder what is the limit of each territory is altitude wise. obviously you cant claim a territory and have it reach infinitely up, and theres been talks about not having it infinitely down, so that players can build underneath your territory. and that made me think, couldnt you in that case incase someone, or use someone elses teritories to protect your own? let me explain. lets say you wish to encase someone, you would claim the territories around then, and build a "cage" around it to make trump proud, and then make a roof between your territories over the enemies territory past the limit of their territory build space, because obviously, the territory cant go all the way up, so whats to stop you from doing that? since there hasnt been talk from the devs about structural integrity. and if we can build below the teritories, whats to stop someone from making a base beneath you so that they cant be attacked from above due to your territory shield? questions questions.
  16. yeah theory-crafting planning etc, meta-game i understand that, meta-game is literally why i joined this game, but when everyone starts suggesting basically the mechanics be a copy of eve - the du limitations, it gets annoying. i almost never see any topic in DU without seeing EVE mentioned a dozen times. most people here are limiting du by what eve is, rather than what du could be.

  20. Hey so i was thinking as I slump in my chair contemplating stuff. what if one way you can disable a ship, with destroying voxels, and not overloading the server is to possibly do this. Lets say you send a rocket to a generator conveniently placed on top of the ship because someone still tries to make a star destroyer thinking its very original. when the rocket hits the generator, it wont explode and randomly destroy the ship in peculiar places, but rather, it destroys the generator, which takes away a certain radius of voxels and elements around it., this way you cant just send a million rockets in the general direction of a ship, and have it randomly destroy voxels, but instead it will only be destroyed if people leave stuff on the outside alot. so if you send a million rockets, and the ship only has 1 generator on top, and nothing else with explosion capabilities, those rockets may hit the ship alot, but only the area around the generator is disabled by voxel removal., and if rockets and such forth hit non vital areas such as the hull, instead of making holes there, it will take away HP from the ship, as Twerk in a previous thread suggested.and to make the rockets always usable and not obsolete because someone finds a way to use engines and stuff only inside and surround their ship with hull, make it so some stuff have to be on top of the ship to work, such as antenna, shield generators etc, this allows destruction by voxel removal without having so much that the server tries too hard calculating stuff.
