Will people who have entered the contest be able to vote on their favourite piece, if there is some way of ensuring it can't be for themselves?

Hey all,

 

Some of you may recognise me from the ongoing Novawrimo contest, but if not then let me introduce myself.

 

"I'm a guy who likes to write! Hiii!" 

 

But anyway, weirdness aside, I've just set up an Org called 'Writer's Guild' and would like to invite anyone who is interested in continuing to write some fan-fiction for Dual, or fiction in any form, to take a look.

 

I'm not an amazing writer, but I've been doing it for a while, so I would like to offer my help towards any that want it, and encourage others to do the same. What I hope for is a close-knit group of people sharing and writing and reading each others work, providing good feedback, and growing as writers and individuals.

 

Anyway, we'll see how it goes.

Thank you for your support, but perhaps we shouldn't bet on the outcome in case people become offended in the process?

[How long will a day be?]

If it was the case, then some interesting emergent gameplay could happen. 

 

For example blueprints and components to do with lighting would be more valuable on a planet with very short days, than a planet with very long days. Which would create trade routes, actual supply and demand markets, etc.

Hey all, I hope you enjoy this piece I've written for the contest.

 

I didn't have much time with exams going on at the moment so its around 6,000 words long, but I got most of what I wanted in there.

 

Also, I've created quite a few phrases and terms so if people are confused about any of those I'm happy to make a glossary, but most should be pretty self-explanatory from the context.

[What will you be playing until DU launch ?]

I recommend Paragon; been playing that recently after being burnt out from the twitch-shooters like Overwatch and Dirty Bomb. SC is aight but still laggy af - will see how 2.6 improves things.

 

Bar that some TW: Warhammer and some BF1 - I'm a bit boring really lol.

[Roleplay]

There's roleplay where you type words into forums, and there's roleplay where you take a particular role "in-game".

 

I'm not keen on the first, but the latter almost everyone will end up doing.
