    I'm not sure it was related but some of the worlds largest DNS servers were DDoSd today and the symptom was the same as you described. 

     

    I dont know if its over or all the specifics but it affected a lot of major sites so made headlines on a lot of news sources this morning. 

    oh then it must of effected me in some way cause i couldnt reach twitter or the community page

    Good day fellow expectant entrepreneurs into this unknown universe. Been keeping track of the DU progress on various media and thought it time to put in my resumé. 

     

    My name is Eike Sky, I'm a open-minded, flexible person able to accomplish a lot of tasks competently. Predominantly amongst these are my building skills (honed in games such as Space Engineers, Empyrion, and... other voxel-based games), and my piloting, with experience in flight sims from decades ago up until today, as well as a little dabble in Elite Dangerous, however of late, I've not had much time to be able to indulge in that particular fantasy due to this "real life" thing that keeps cropping up.

     

    My goal for my existence in Dual Universe is to create the best specialist vehicles at the lowest material cost, and fly them better than anyone else. I have no political alignments other than the belief in the strength of individuals, to make up a whole. I am neither a war monger, or a pacifist, more a nomad, generally. The kind of "work from home" person that deals well with being given some tools and an assignment and being left to it. My communications skills are excellent, though, so if assistance is needed, I am the first to admit a lack of knowledge/experience. If I were to pinpoint a weakness, it would be my lack of knowledge regarding the Lua scripting language, which I will be furthering my knowledge on in the meantime.

     

    The purpose of this post is, firstly to introduce myself, and to put forward my application to any Organisation who would make use of my unique skills and viewpoint on the world. I thank you for your time and eagerly await your questions.

    Greetings EikeSky, i am the Emperor of the Solar Empire. 

     

    Based on what you have said I believe you would fit perfectly within the Solar Empires ranks :) I encourage all our people to create original works and be individually creative! We have a Construction department called S.E.C.C. or Solar Empire Construction Corps. Here is where people who love to build can flourish. We also have I.C.E. or Imperial Corps of Engineers where you can develop new scripts and other things that can better yourself and the Empire as a whole. We have a good ranking system that is based off of participation and dedication! We also encourage people to get tasks done calmly and on your own time rather than on a restricting Time frame. Although in the future there will most likely be projects that require such timetables but for now everything can be done on your own time. 

     

    I am the kind of person that likes to assign a task to someone who is specialized in doing said task and leave them too it, only to check up here and there to see how the progress goes.

    TBH I applaud you.  I would guess that the majority of us are somewhat Star Wars fans at least and you have continuously changed and adapted but determined to follow what you want.  Can't copy, which crumbled what you were trying to build .... but you didn't quit and adapted and continued.

     

    Even though I am totally against any authoritative type of organization and goes completely opposite of my value of individual freedom and choice, I wish your empire luck.

     

    Well, until the balance needs to be restored. ;)

    Well if it makes anyone feel better I removed the star wars tag. I also wanted to make a capital ship that was just as menacing as a star destroyer. I did everything in the model by hand instead of importing a star destroyer and modifiying that. I made the turrets, the engines, the tower, all by hand and from my own memory. I used the Star Destroyer as a point of reference and went from there. I really like how it came out and am proud that I created something that people think belongs in star wars lol but I am more proud of my own people and the other friendly people on DU that encourage me to do my own original works instead of copying off of something else :)

    I don't quite see what all the fuss is about. 

     

    What I do see is honest work here. It does resemble the Star Destroyer from Star Wars, yes. However, that is irrelevant. The model is intricate and well done--I can only imagine how many hours of work was invested into this design. 

     

    MrStarWars if you can create a model of such good work, then I do not doubt that you can create many more of better quality. Until then, ignore the voices and focus on what you want and have to do. In the end, you will have the last laugh.

    Aw thank you so much. Yeah this was my first 3D model in blender that I have ever created. I have been learning and following tutorials as I went along and I want to say this model is taken about a month and a half and she's still not finished. I am going to go over her again and put in some details. I also plan on making more 3D models of designs that I have come up with :D

    Yeah, clearly no SW design there - it doesn't feature those block shaped turbolaser batteries, it doesn't feature the bridge with the two shield generators on top of it, and it clearly and certainly doesn't look exactly like an imperial class star destroyer.

    Do what you want but I think this goes to far. Design something new. Be creative. Don't just copy something. You're free to build everything you can imagine, would be a waste of time to only think of such old designs

    What the heck? So I create a model on my own and I still get called a copier? Have you seen the other images of my ship? The only similarities are the control bridge with the little ball like generators on top. I also had to design some kind of turrets to put on there. Because I don't know how exactly the DU guns look so I tried to create some simple basic military designs for turrets. On the ship you can see flat 6 barreled capital gun turrets. You will also find singular anti-ship fighter ship fighter turrets. Then you will also find spherical turrets with a long barrel. I feel like it looks much different from a star destroyer but it keeps that similarity.

     

    I think my design is pretty creative. I guess I achieved my goal of making you feel like it was a star destroyer without actually being a star destroyer. I have created my own designs for all our ships this far, minus the aurora class, I think they are pretty creative designs.
