  1. Must have missed that then, only been following the game for a few weeks so far. But yeah jetpacks are cool! B)

     

    Update #18 overall was really good though lots of nice bits of info.

    Yeah jetpacks are cool but there will be for building only, not exploring.

  2. Update #18 on the KS page. Talks about character creation and progression.

     

    Best part(rest was good to though) was this: Outfit upgrades are things like better armor, a better jetpack (yes, jetpack!),

     

    Seriously though I mean if I hadn't already would have pledged based on that alone.  Not sure why sure I'm so hyped about jetpacks but i am, and I'm not sorry about it. :lol:

    They already said there will be jetpacks. uhuh

  3. First of the devs won't create a city out of their hands that's really too long to do, and what they need is to develop the game. Now, about the ship I'm both agreeing and disagreeing with the post, in fact if you look the structure there are cuts into the voxel bricks but we didn't see how they'd made it, the video was like a low frame-rate time-lapse. The ship could have been better but in fact what lacks was the video as we didn't see HOW they've made the ship.

I mean, it would be really cool, but it's not exactly low hanging fruit.  It would be great to have different compositions of atmosphere, hydrosphere, different gravity, unique biomes, etc.  But that sort of thing will probably have to wait until DU 2.0 when they have millions to drop on R&D and hardware.

    Ok for the gravity, and the air being breathable or not, but the rest won't be available soon as you said; 2.0.

  5. I read that they have no plans for doing weather.  To much work to render weather in 4 dimensions.  We can't even do good climate science on one planet with supercomputers.  

    You don't actually manage to create a real weather cycle, but you can at least simulate it. Rain, clouds randomly distributed, season with snow (snow physics on the ground then ouch). But tornadoes and hurricanes are too much to possibly do, even wind would come difficult.

  6. XD some community rejected the game because they're stubborn. The P2W games are made by either strong or weird Asian outsourced studios. We finally get to know a game who will make what we're looking for, and definitely won't try to create P2W, and as they're transparent on other sides, I try to believe in it. Please try a little, don't be conducted by your community's majority.

  7. A. Have no idea what you mean at all. Words on water.

    B. You don't buy resources, you buy players time (all these resources do not come from nowhere).

     

    As I said, don't like this model, want fair model? Let's make 2-3 hour game allowed every day. For everyone.

     

    If somebody want to work (grind resources, build ship or something else) for getting 30days sub, go on. If NQ would sell resources, then it would be P2W.

    Really, need to learn what real P2W mean, not what stupid community think last years (to excuse themselves).

  8. Considering KS is gonna be a sucess, I think they've worked out what to implement in the game, though they won't code a lot as they're not sure of anything. There will still be questions for the community regarding what direction to take on certain matters, or at least there will inform us right after the KS is a sucess if it is.

    And about the org being a spy org ... never thought of it but the logo would fit nicely.

    You could be a spy org in disguise. Oops I ruined it all, create another from scratch then. It would fit nicely, you'd at some point reveal your dark side.

  10.  All sort of item/construct will be available on the market, maybe the market owner will be able to set what type of items/constructs you can sell or their market (it would be cool to have specialized markets) but there is no official information about that.

    Yeah, I hope we could create custom markets freely enough. Considering the aspect that is said the game to be taking, it should be that way; "community economy" they said.

  11. To touch on ideology:

     

    Would you prefer autocratic states and groups with an overly focus on order, control and power and the likes? Or would you rather prefer something more opposite, 'democratic' in a nutshell in terms of the mentality.

     

    Or even something more outlandish or less organized or structured in several areas - like outlaws and whatnot.

     

    I personally think that (so far anyway) the more autocratic concepts that, while appearing as "cool" or interesting for not just a few, may be at a possible disadvantage in certain areas whereas other 'ideologies' may be more competitive.

     

    What do you think?

    I believe the 'autocratic' way is the most efficient one. period.

  12. I prefer dictatorships. Democracy is just bad and slow when dealing with situations. In order to respond fast even democratic orgs need one guy who decides -making the democratic part obsolete.

     

    In DU though I think a mix of outlaw paired with a dictator is my choice. Cause you as a member can do what you want and are not bound by any laws but will contribute when the Lordmaster calls

    Are you not in some org already? A dictatorship? The best is to put a banner beneath if you have one.

  13. I disagree. Players spring and jump around like maniacs stamina bar or not. Plenty of traditional mmo's use "run" as a default speed, and have a walking speed you can switch to, and yes in high pop areas players are often running and jumping around. This ALSO happens in Minecraft (despite the stamina system) and the effect is usually MORE jarring not less because when the default speed is walk, sprinting is generally much faster.

     

    If the run speed is slow enough, it won't be very jarring and will encourage players to use hover vehicles to get around on a planet surfaxe.

    I can tell, the walk is not that fast, and the sprint wasn't as fast as it's in Minecraft when I tried.

    Then the stamina should be implemented.

    J'aimerais proposer un modèle.   Les membres paient un montants par mois pour jouer. Cependant, si le membre paye dison 100$, il peut jouer comme un buy to play. De cette façon, les gens n'auront pas a payer chaque mois s'il désir avoir le jeux complet.

     

    I would like to propose a model. you can pay for each month like your model. but if you want you can also pay 100$ for the whole game no month payment.

    Je pense que c'était 400 euros en early mais maintenant c'est plus. Enfin moi je n'irais pas jusqu'à prendre le risque de payer autant. Aussi, si je voyais le futur je m'engagerais direct, autant là... Mais il y a possibilité de jouer assez pour s'acheter des tickets pour payer le mois, donc tu peux gagner assez de DACs pour t'arrêter même puis reprendre.
