  1. ok thanks. yeah, just a bit of whining here.
  2. I don't cheat. I've never cheated in a computer game ever. All other games on my computer start right up but not this one. With the last patch, the entire game did reload, 6 GBs of it. One day later, apparently I'm being tagged as a "cheater". How is this fun?
  3. So, tried logging in this evening. Get this popup message: "You have been disconnected by the server. (You were disconnected by an admin)" Been playing now for a few months, now I can't even login. I give up.
  4. I couldn't launch this morning either. Not going to waste an hour trying to figure out what's wrong here.
  5. You can go to this web link to check DU server status: https://www.dualuniverse.game/server-status The server has been down now for a few hours. Would be nice (and good MMO business practice) if additional information were provided by DU - either on the login screen, or here in the forums via the Announcements section.
  6. Would like some kind "Restore Landscape Tool" ... i.e. able to terraform landscape, plant more trees, ponds etc. Right now just digging and flattening is like taking a sledge hammer to your territories. Why not have tools much like you have to make building to restore some of the landscape (in one's own Territory of course).
  7. I agree on the one-off puzzles. Although great to have, as you say, only a lucky few will be engaged in. Something seeded onto the planets like ores, as you say 'mini-random' might be more viable and long-term. One could probably look at the scientific fields - cull different categories like you have with the Minerals, then create some kind of 'scientific' exploration discovery game on different planet types - that might involve the construction of different scientific constructs and labs in order to cull and increase 'discovery' chances etc. a Then as you say, ingame bonuses might be applied - perhaps specialized "Engines" or specialized Ores etc. I think I would prefer having scientific research effect element construction and what is available - it would be a good incentive that could integrate with the game. Talents maybe ... but access to better types of elements - more rare elements would be quite an incentive as well. Just throwing this stuff out there. Missioning becomes so 'generic' over time. It would be nice to have a system that is less generic and more specific but also broad enough where players will want to invest in certain parts of planets for scientific 'resources' or 'research' that would enhance their assets. But what is enhanced shouldn't just be some kind of generic money pay-off - you would want discrete scientific operations that would lead to specific types of augmentations to 'Materials' and/or 'Building capabilities' - separate from the Talent tree.
  8. It would be nice to have other incentives to move out of the safe zone to other different types of planets and moons other than mining (which is mostly the only incentive right now). Thinking of the game Stellaris, and other space based games, what would be nice is certain types of "Moons" or Planets offer "Research" bonuses. So if you have a base with scientific facilities on said Moon/Planet, you get Research points accumulated. For what, not sure - I guess you will want to come up with some kind of Tech/Research tree etc.
  9. I bought the Apex 620A Hybrid and received a blueprint with it at the UAF Ship store. The blueprint lists all the elements, but completely missing is the "Material" section i.e. the Honeycombs. So how do I use the Blueprint? What are the Honeycomb Mats that I need if I want to build another Apex 620A? Anyone know?
  10. I agree it was a really good interview. Kudos to Markee for asking good questions, and some of the in-game player constructs that were visited. Amazing what players have *already* done and the game really is showing promise right now. JC the founder also sounded like he had a real passion for his creation/vision of Dual Universe - like, he isn't in it just for the money. So there's that. Who knows - this MMO could really rock over time. I know I'm having a blast right now.
  11. Yes, same here. But having to wait a day sucked. I am running two accounts, so I was able to hop on my other account, only to find out I still haven't done the permissions right for my org. Sigh. But it's beta ... so ... heh.
  12. Yeah, if there is anything in the game so far that has frustrated me the most, RDMS system is it. I mean, how hard could it have been to simply say - hey, anyone in the "organization" gets rights to everything in the organization - i.e. everything is shared by everyone. Anything that someone doesn't want shared gets turned off by given player. But instead it's the exact opposite. You got to tag every single construct, element, territory claim unit ... you got tags, tags on tags, lists of lists and the damn thing STILL DOESN'T WORK. It's the most counter-intuitive system I've encountered in a long time - and there is not any kind of adequate explanation for it either.
  13. Sorry to hear that. I guess I'm not the only one who has had login issues although yours appears somewhat different from mine. But it may still be related to the system thinking we're in the game when we're not.
  14. Ok. I just checked with my organization. It shows that my character is Online but I am not online. What do I do?
  15. Just received this message when trying to login: KICKED (DOUBLE LOGIN); DON'T RECONNECT AUTOMATICALLY. (ERROR:102) Apparently the Server was down briefly this morning, but now every time I try to login I get this error message. Am I the only one? Will I have to submit a ticket and wait a week before I can play the game again?
  16. I've been playing DU now for a few weeks and love the game. Great game design and well thought out in several areas. That being said (ha ha) ... a few suggestions It would be nice if some elements of the UI were saved to how you last used them: 1. Whenever I get into my ship, I always have to click on the Insert key to get the outside view (forgot what you call it, 3rd person view?) It would be nice if I didn't have to do that every time, have it automatically default to the last piloting view I used, or allow me to set default view as an option. 2. Search/Scan for ore tool. Keep it set to where I last configured. 3. Map - keep selections saved between map openings CRAFTING: 4. Need some kind of favorites or history of recipes used - so I don't have to keep searching the tree every time I want to craft something or using a textual search. Yeah, textual search is cool, but drop downs are faster and easier to use such as 'saved favorites' or 'recently used" recipes. 5. When I commit to Nano crafting, it's annoying that as a job is being done, the "Not enough Material" flashes red even though a job is active and there was/is enough material. This is just weird. I get that you want some kind of indicator that a limit has been reached but a better way to implement this would be to only allow the user to "dial up" the counter to the maximum amount of material available. Give a warning sound if the user tries to build more than material present but only when actively spinning the dial or entering a number to large. (With a brief popup explanation.) Don't give the warning if a job is submitted and becomes successfully active. MAP 6. Icons on the Map interface need a bit more information with mouse-over. When I put my mouse over an icon, some information should come up like (Market Hub 5) or name of base etc. Even better a right click can provide some contextual information on said icon RDMS 7. RDMS was possibly the most frustrating experience I've had after a few weeks of play. I think I get what is trying to be done - and there is a need for a really fine tuned complex handling of access to elements and bases etc. That being said, I would suggest there be two version of RDMS. Sort of like BIOS in today's more modern MOBOS. Have an easy mode RDMS system, that will sit on top of an EXPERT mode RDMS (which is pretty much what you have now). So this won't entail you reworking the entire system, you just need to make it more accessible for players who don't need or want to deal with excessive 'permission' handling.
  17. Yes, my GPU jumps to 100% and usually stays there most of the time. Where there really is nothing unusual happening with the graphics. What worries me more is just how hot my GPU runs - in the 70s. This is the highest I've seen it for any game I've played in years. Although 70s is still in the safe zone for a GPU, it's a bit uncomfortable when you've gotten used to mid to high 60s when playing a game. It is heavy on the CPU as well and could very well burn out some people's components who don't have sufficient cooling.
  18. UPDATE Alright, with a new download I got further in than I've gotten before, I saw the launcher actually begin extraction. It successfully "extracted" the files, then went to verify the extracted file. About halfway through it quit. So, I then checked a file in the Dual Universe directory - a text file that is called "out-admin" that gives you a dump of launcher events. And this is where you get an error message - that the files I downloaded didn't pass a sumcheck and were corrupt. And as soon as the launcher sees that, it deletes everything and starts all over again! But it doesn't give the user a single error message! Just a text message dump to the out-admin file. Which means even the smallest incorrect file forces you to download the 6 gig zip file all over again. That's too bad, you would think that they could just replace the corrupted file itself - but no you have to re-download the entire game. Now I'm not sure yet if it's my system that is the problem, an Internet connection, or a Server problem. But in any case that's the update.
  19. The activation key came from a legitimate recruiter. But yes, I'm suspecting all the problems center around that. But it's really poor development that there isn't any kind of meaningful error message telling you what the problem is. I'm thinking of spending another $20 bucks and getting a 3 month pass - until they work out the recruiter activation stuff. But like, do I want to take the chance of spending another $20 ??
  20. Yeah I did that a few hours ago with an older attempt and it didn't seem to work. But really, it's 2020. I have no problems with any other computer game when it comes to AVG. So why Dual Universe? I am downloading again (for the 10th time). With the new AVG flags ... but I suspect that it still will not work. I really think it has something to do with the My Products database entry. Apparently it's borked for other players as well.
  21. Yeah I agree it's odd. I have a high-end rig. It has all the needed specs and more. So it's not the rig. It may be my Security software, I use AVG and it can be finicky at times. So what I'm going to do is turn on the flags to allow the Launcher and DU folders to operate without AVG shielding it (for the time being). See if it resolves the problem. It's either that, or my subscription may be borked because I used a Recruiter Activation code - that gave me an account but doesn't give me time? But if that's the case, there should be some kind of warning/error in the launcher itself. With AVG I'm able to flag both the Launcher app and the folders (I see two folders for DU, the folder in Program Data, and the DU cache Folder in Documents).
  22. Whoa. Now that has to be a problem. Thanks for the information. It looks like I'm just going to have to wait, and accept I drew a bad straw on this one.
  23. I purchased an activation code from a recruiter for Dual Universe, was able to finally create an account. But now find the "My Products" field has no text - it's just blank. Is this normal? Shouldn't it have subscription information based on my activation? If not, where can you find subscription information for your account?
  24. I'm a new subscriber. I just subscribed for an entire year. So far, the anti-cheat software has: 1) Stopped me from using my normal email, and many other users (apparently) who have been playing the game now for some time now can't use their account. 2) I've downloaded the game repeatedly and the launcher verifies my files, but then just stops and deletes the ingame ZIP game file, so I'm stuck in an endless download loop. So whatever the anti-cheat system they have here IT REALLY SUCKS. I'm not a cheater. I'm just trying to play the game on Windows 10. Seems like I'm asking for too much. PS: It's been 4 days and I've yet to receive a single response to tickets I have submitted.
