Actually you can't really ban dupers, since the game dupes by itself quite frequently.

This Theft is so bad on NQ... the proper handling would have been a statue to the successful thieves.

I am not surprised this exposed them this badly.

Exactly, they could turn it into lulz for community especially that material gain/game impact is minimal. Instead, no-no banhammer swing.

Like, there was that thing called monocle and a statue that got ruined for those who know what I mean.

  2. NQ messed up, players use intended game mechanics in a SANDBOX game where it's all about trying and doing stuff. Players get banned. (c) Dual Universe.

Like common, we pay real money to run around and press buttons. People pressed buttons that are allowed and had fun. No, you can't have fun. Pending operation didn't complete yet.

In 2020 developers think that their playerbase is a QA department that pays them and that should report bugs because they have beta in their name.

Keep in mind it's very possible that your industry may be larger than 10 L hub can store - which will result in a BP that is useless because there is no way to deploy it...NQ has yet to respond on how to deal with that scenario.

ow, nice catch. That's definitely can be a case.

  4. If you are moving to another place you can create a blueprint, disassemble, move the parts, redeploy from blueprint at the new location. The industries will forget the recipes but the links will remain. Name of industries does reset too.

That's an interesting theory you have but what evidence do you have to suggest that new players would magically show up because of a wipe?

Everyone and his grandma already know about DU. They DU now or they will DU on release anyway, wipe or not.

On the other hand, I have been no-lifing this for a week so I have a solid base because I was promised that "it's a go". If they wipe it, it's a broken core promise.

I didn't play where there were some bots or something, I started with public beta on 27th.

The balance and some people become monopolists, that's inevitable, we shouldn't even try to avoid it.

All the benefit the exploiters have due to whatever bug they were exploiting during first couple of days will be naturally irrelevant as all those "OMG I have 50mil" is nothing in the long run. It will be pocket change once economy caches up.

The power will be with those who find the new sustainable and constant ways to gain profit as the game moves forward. There is one other game that had a GM giving very valuable items to members, no one wiped, this incident has no meaning nowdays.

If they wipe and then there are bugs again(and there will 100% always be! Faction Loyalty Points for those who know what I talk about) what then ? Wipe again ? So do we play persistent universe or a battle royale ?? I didn't sign up for the later...

False start, real start, slow start, fast start. Why you care what the orgs have ? How does that affect you ? You will not invent playable mechanics where 50 people working together cannot smash you to pieces both economically and militarily.  If you do then they are broken.

Everyone is in a position he is in because he worked to get there. If NQ wipes, crapton of people will leave as they told they wouldn't wipe. I will leave. No, you can't have my stuff as I will not have any.

Thinking that wipe will suddenly turn you billionaire because you now know what you know is ridiculous. Should we wipe the game every time some Joe join and say, ow, wipe it so they have the same noob speeder that I have ? Did you want to try it before the real start, should have signed up for alpha.

  7. PVPers don't like their cubes but no one gonna choose a cool looking ship over an effective one.

I think a solution to this is making the most of the tanking dependent on shields and not voxels. Like common, in space age we still defend ourselves by a steel wall ?

With shields as defense the shape of your ship is not as important, voxels are week anyway and are mass inefficient armoring.

The voxels should be used to "hold the ship together" like maybe if there is no connection from core to element X that element becomes non functional. It "cool looking" ships get on the same level as PVP ships then people will fly cool looking ship as to why not.

Well, if you want an absolutely perfect ship each time. Ya rebuild it.
Or maybe add a mechanism in that at some threshold it takes no permanent damage.

How much HP does a L engine have ? I am definitely up to having L container with 150 pages of space engine L in different conditions. Yay \o/.

    Common, it will not work.

Moreover, it seems that NQ doesn't seem to ask us about this topic so they already have a plan for it.

  9. People build factories, hmm may be, just may be they are building factories because THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO DO ??? It's factories or digging.

BTW gigabit internet doesn't help load times. I have giga and I still wait 30-40 sec for rights to load before I can use market.

When running back from sanct market to my ship, it's half loaded and it's faster to press "B" and fly into cockpit than to wait for the force-field to load.

Easy implementation of elemental damage would be that each unit has its max hp reduced each time it is repaired.

if it starts a 1000/1000 then you repair it from 500/1000 there is some RNG and maybe a quality of repair calc and it loses a % off the top then is 923/923.

until some point it does not function or is so weak that bumping a pillow makes it inoperable.

so I should go and replace all my elements after each PVP battle even if I win OR I am handicapped ? That was a mechanic in a game called cross-out. They dumped it as you literally loosing money doing anything.

When the core is blown up, let 50% of the destroyed components go poof. Any component destroyed after the core is destroyed goes poof too.

  11. To those "solo" players that have problems with industry and orgs: you are doing it wrong.

I have like 30 L assemblies running 24/7 + 10 that I switch to whatever I need for my ship ambitions from time to time. I play with my wife, 4 hours per day or so since release. I don't dig, I buy and sell. If you can't handle it, design it, calculate and make a profit it's not a game problem it's your problem. Orgs ? Who cares what "orgs" have ? How does that affect you ? Any org with wealth X and amount of players Y have can only provide X/Y to each player and that's not much IMHO.

Can't design and build a single t1-t5 all factory for your own needs ? Your problem, not the game problem. It's a bit of chore connecting links but what the hell stops you from doing it ? Need ore dig it, don't wanna dig - buy it. Don't have the iskies ? Be smart and you will have it. Can't figure it out ? Dig, someone has to.

Remember that warp beacon is not something every average joe should have on his space station for personal use.

Rich will be richer, poor will be poorer. That's not the game problem, it's CAPITALISM. You can't have "open market" economy without capitalism.

  12. Why reinvent the wheel ?

Look at other "full loot" PVP MMOs. You don't get 100% of what you kill, you get 50%. The other 50% is "lost forever". That's how you put items out of the market and keep economy healthy.

PVP currently is not as popular and some people will never do PVP anyway but if PVP doesn't become a thing this game is dead anyway so it doesn't matter how you do a resource sink.

If PVP becomes a thing, like corps battle over territory - two corps collide with their fleet, 80% of one of the corps will die. That's huge resource sink.

Every now and then there will be people blowing other people up that's another sink.

Once PVE becomes a thing then we may lose stuff in PVE too (so risk vs reward) that's a resource sink too.

  13. It was announced there will be "no full wipe". If they break that promise - I am out.

If they decide they need to like regenerate planets or even sanctuary moon to get the new features that's OK but wiping my talents / constructs / accumulated wealth it means they throw my time under a bus. I am not going to personally trust them again.

Like WTF, that's MMO. It's not the game where you wipe things. If I wanted to play with wipes I would play other games (surprise: there are much better games than DU but they do have wipes etc)

  14. Can we get official NQ reply on this ? WTF is "not intended game mechanics ?" It's a sandbox, it doesn't play by intended mechanics. Discord is not a thing to get data from, I am not to about to scroll 100500 pages.

Do I get a ban for doing it ? If someone does it to my ship does he get banned ? We need a clear answer here.

  15. For anyone who has FPS issues and crashes with old hardware that look like they happen due to hardware limitation I have a temporary solution:

    For me:

    I have nvidia 970 and I run at 1080p.

In district it's a slideshow, bad slideshow.

In sanctuary moon district it's a slideshow but I can move.

In my spot (8km from market) it seems ok but I believe it's about 30fps and sometimes slows down.

I got to Madis yesterday and suddenly the game just runs like never before, I feel I have like 60fps and everything is smooth + all the pending etc stuff is gone(not sure if this one is related). So if you have weak hardware you may consider moving there until the game is optimized or you upgrade your hamster.

Terrain there is much more smooth and there is less stuff around so I believe it has affect.

    Hope it helps.

    Edit:

Only move if you plan to build stuff on your own, market there is limited currently.

  16. Hi.

Can I get some info please on the warp mechanics ?

    1) Do I need the beacon to warp between planets or I can lock to planet ?

    2) That warp drive thingy, it's big so I suppose it's should only be used on mid size+ ships not on your "get my ass around" shup.

    3) How is the "warp cell" costs are calculated ?

  17. Yea, I did all this part and assume I can calculate the total mass "M" I need to lift. Now I can see the force in newtons but that's horizontal, given g=9.8 and can calculate what I need for VTOL. Was just wondering if that's "popular" approach of I should go with wings.

The problem is with the plane wing stuff. The force up is proportional to the speed. (I can calculate my speed, or more important how much time it will take me to reach that speed horizontally from the above with g=0) But what is the forumula for lift ? For example, I have 200 tons, and I will strap enough engines so I get to 300kmph in reasonable amount of time. How much wings do I need to generate 9.8*200,000 newton of upward lift at say 300kmph?

    Edit:

The point is, in order to "design" a plane and not "build as you go" I need some way of calculating those in advance...

    XKentX, in short :

    a) the daily stipend of 100K/day/ person

    b) any sale of items ( generated ultimately via either mining or salvaging ), that is sold to a bot (at a very low price)

As there are no NPC activities yet , those are the only 2 faucets into the economy.

I don't know if a>>b but if it is then this alone breaks any economy.

Like, we are 1 week in. All the money that we have will have 0.5 value in 1 week (as the same amount will just be printed by people logging in during second week)... The effect will of course neutralize itself after a while but there is no talking about "working economy" with this currently.

I tried planning some industry and building some models but prices change so rapidly that there is nothing reliable that you can do about it.

if b>>a then ore price will go up so it's better to currently have ore than quanta, so you should just buy tier1 on all you spear quanta and hoard it until the bots go away and then cash in.

lol working economy. I think it's just too early for anything meaningful.
