  1. How, exactly do we assign the HQ status to our 5 chosen territories?
  2. I'm confused, Will there be tax on a hex if it is not mined? What is happening with regards to the HQ tiles? How many tax-free HQ tiles can we have? And where can we have them? If all tiles outside sanctuary are taxed then it really will limit the game hugely for people who are in the game just to build nice things. Perhaps anyone who has created something amazing to look at and explore could list their locations so that we can visit them before they disappear as taxes are introduced, please?
  3. Hopefully I'm on the right thread.... commenting on the upcoming Demeter illustrated by the first Demeter weekend on the PTS..... where the game seems to be going and where I thought it was going to go when I joined. I had single territories on all of the planets and moons, I built homes there and I just visited them from time to time and only mined for what I needed locally, mostly T1 ores so most of the rest was left unmined. I did lose a couple of ships to pirates so that was fun and made the flights more of a challenge. I expected that one day someone would come and fight my bases to takeover my tiles, complete with ores still present. However, all of the outer planets and moons remained so sparsely populated that there was no competition for the higher tier ores on them. Also, asteroids were introduced so there was no need for people to colonise and mine the outer planets. Well, the day I lost most of my outer planets was the result of a pve battle, namely Aphelia threatened to charge me exorbitant taxes just for owning my tiles so I packed up and left. Aphelia can have my tiles, it's no fun losing to the game so the game has probably lost me

  5. Feedback: ok, so I've been prepping for the Geo reset and it has taken far too much of my time and hasn't been enjoyable. Also, in the process I have had to redesign my workshop, which, since the schematics were introduced has grown as I've needed to add more different industry units so that in itself is a pain. However, I have so many schematics now and finding which one goes in which industry unit is a very painful process. I don't know whether NQ has given thought to the amount of enjoyment we are getting out of this game but I'm realising that I am more and more being dictated to by the game and I don't enjoy that in my spare time. Every major update seems to reduce the fun of the game and makes it more like hard work.
  6. Flying to and from my HQ bases on the outer planets through unsafe space is half the fun. I don't often have much of value on board, just materials the artist needs to do some home improvements or decoration... I guess I won't be doing that anymore. Losing a couple of ships and the elements I was transporting around didn't stop me, that just added to the challenge, it's the threat of taxes on all my single tiles on all of the planets and moons that has completely changed the way I'll play until the taxes finally defeat me.
  7. It would be fair if NQ looked back at their logs and reimbursed people for the tiles they had at the time Demeter's taxes were announced.
  8. So, the number of TUs for sale is increasing quickly! Looks like I'm not the only one who has vacated most of my tiles in preparation for Demeter's taxes. HQ tiles are too late to catch me on most of my outer planets... I guess we'll see how much the taxes are on my remaining tiles... the announcement of Demeter's taxes has certainly put a huge dampener on enjoyment in the game. The outer planets were already very sparsely populated.....
  9. There's a problem with reimbursing for tiles currently claimed because some of us have already released lots of tiles without getting the quanta we paid for them back. How would it be fair?
  10. Pity the PTS isn't open again because it would be good to see whether I need help digging out my constructs after modifying them slightly in an effort to make it possible to do it myself without the special tool.
  11. Just a quick comment on whether there is a wipe: For those of us who are creators, if you wipe out all our creations, we probably won't rebuild them, we probably will find a different avenue for our creativity so probably won't continue playing after a wipe at launch. Sure, some creators might come back to a clean slate but that is a gamble you have to decide whether you will take or not.
  12. Surely, if people leave the game they stop paying their subscription so you only need a cool-down period or an email warning and a cool-down period after which you can remove their tiles from the game so you don't need to introduce taxes on tiles in order to reclaim tiles. Taxes on tiles are more likely to drive people away from the game. Taxes on tiles will cause wealthy people in the game to use their wealth to find ways to work around the taxes, perhaps putting most of their effort into space stations and asteroids instead of tiles on planets. If you want to reduce the density of tiles around markets then perhaps some fee for proximity to the markets might make sense. If you want people to stop crowding on Alioth then perhaps making it attractive to move to the outer planets might help because at teh moment there are incentives to avoid colonising the outer planets and they are really sparsely populated. I've just removed almost all of my Headquarters style bases on the outer planets, outposts if you like to call them that, because of the threat of 1M quanta for each tile, when all I do is fly around from base to base, maybe doing a few building alterations etc.. These outer planets were pretty empty when I landed on them to build my bases in the first place and I'm not the only person who has vacated tiles on these sparsely populated planets and moons. I don't see the point of asteroids when there are so many empty, mine-able planets still out there waiting for people to claim tiles on them. Before the threat of taxes I had planned to create places for people to visit in VR but with the threat of taxes of 1M quanta per tile per week, that would not be feasible so I've scrapped those plans and will just hide out on sanctuary unless the actual tax on my one base still left on an outer planet turns out to be much more reasonable for a player with limited spare time and not someone involved in mining or anything else that makes money in the game. I have a few tiles on Alioth, out in a desert somewhere and I was planning on creating a resort to be visited in VR; those plans are also on hold until I see if the taxes are going to make it untenable. I have seen some amazing creations done by other people in this game and I wonder whether they will continue playing after the taxes are implemented. It has been nice to play a game where creativity is part of the fun, and where it is not necessary to grind.
  13. Thanks for the video.... sounds like we have a few weeks to get ready for Demeter, that's great ? Please would you tell us how many HQ tiles we will be able to have tax-free? Also is there a limit to the number of planets they can be spread across? Are free HQ tiles available to organisations as well as to individuals? It would be really helpful to know this as soon as possible so that we can plan and be ready for Demeter.
  14. I was already doing it during the first PTS weekend with Demeter.,,, started before the video had actually finished.... it's taken nearly 2 weeks of most of my free time.... I guess I can put my feet up soon and just chill until Demeter hits. I am actually really glad that the soil levels are returning to a new pristine level.
  15. I know what I want to do with each of my semi-underground buildings, yes I have quite a few, but it takes time to do it and I wish to finish before Demeter hits. If I knew how long we have I would know whether I need GM help or whether I can finish in time. Just like the "We are about to shutdown for a maintenance" without enough time to get our ships to safety, releasing Demeter without sufficient advance warning will cause problems. Thankfully we have had 2 weekends, I just hope we get a third.
  16. I do not have a magic wand that can make time stand still so I am dismantling my bases and moving elements to higher levels in readiness but with a base on every planet and moon, I have to fly out to them all, take the time to dismantle them or adjust them, and fly back with stuff.... and flying takes time. So when you say "Do it now" that's a joke! I have already said that I have already checked out all of my bases on the PTS and decided what I wish to do with each one. It takes time to do what I wish to do with each base and so I asked how much time do I have before Demeter is unleashed. I hope we have until at least Friday because it will take me at least that long, preferably, I hope we have another weekend as well.
  17. I have logged into PTS and I have seen how much earth there is in my buildings and I have decided not to lodge tickets to have them dug out but instead to dismantle them ready to build again from scratch with the knowledge I gained the first time around. Therefore I asked how much time I have to do this for all of my constructs before Demeter hits and buries the ones I haven't done yet.
  18. Do we know how long we have to pack up our buildings before they get buried with the Demeter release?
  19. If these figures are indicative of the taxes to be paid on all territories, I will not be able to continue playing the game. I will have to pack up all of my bases. I have one on every planet and moon because I am an explorer and have enjoyed the game as an explorer but the taxes will force me to bring everything I have back to sanctuary and just hang out there until the game goes live. If there are taxes on all territories, including the first on each planet or moon, I will not be paying to play this game. I backed this game because it promoted itself as appealing to many different styles of players but it is turning into a game where money is more important than fun.
  20. I am completely confused by the Demeter update..... ...and I'm not sure where to look for a concise easy to understand list of things we need to know about our bases which have been built partially underground.... and about whether we need to buy yet more schematics in order to make mining units etc.. These forums are really hard to find information on. The video was long and left me confused about what will change for me.
  21. Thanks ? ... and I've bookmarked the page.
  22. Is there a link somewhere to help us file tickets or give feedback? The Launcher screen is too big for my screen and I can't see the icons on the edges and the only thing I can click on is a narrow strip of the "Play" button. And the links in the section about the update don't work.
  23. I just recommended this game to a friend because there is really great in game NQ support!! Now that NQ is no-longer giving in game support, that was a mistake!! I'll have to tell my friend that they've removed the in-game support and my friend will probably find a different game to play. Seems like playing during Alpha and Early Beta was the best time to play this game! NQ keep doing things to sabotage their own game.... soon there won't be anyone left! They'll go live, and probably do a wipe... and everyone will leave. Making the schema system for industry was a really bad idea but we coped... and now they're removing support!!
