look at all the threads and discussions about the space elevators. Its not opinion.
Yea. Ppl like are the core problem of our society.
Because in the old days ppl knew they were ignorant.
Now ppl think they are informed and informing others with no factual data.
Statistical data is a magic trick that ppl like me present to you to convince you of what you know to be a lie.

What about all the structures that people crashed into during beta WITH the nebula.. Its proven fact more crashes happen with the nebula then when it wasnt there. And NQ said "use a radar" thats from the game developers. BOOM mic drop. owned again. You make it too easy.
Havr numbers? No right?..
Your opinion.

People don't crash from not having a nebula. The old skybox you could see. Those are facts
What was the color change in all channels RGB in numerical values?
Same for all voxels?
Where is your statistic about the reasons ppl crash into stations?
Its not a fact.. Its your uninformed opinion. You just dont know the difference because you think the world rotates around you.

Its already been proven
No it was not. Because you dont account for defence, accusation, all witnesses, judge and jury.
You and your opinion is 1.
1 in the middle of all of us.

But to say it makes people crash is so laughable. like.,....lol
Then laugh.
But your laugh is caused because of your lack of empathy towards new players.
And hopefully NQ will disregard you suggestion to remove the nebula.

Done crying about the nebula?

For you and about you are 2 different things. reading comprehension.
All hail the great master of comprehension. A hail the great @VandelayIndustries.
The guy that says that you should not be saying your opinio because you were not from his time.
The guy that says who the game is for.
But does want you do swallow it without replying of how self-centric he is.

But keep crying and making up stuff about crashing because you cant "see" which has never been a thing.
You are the one crying here. "Because the big bad neblula is hurting my eyes. Mhue mhue mhue... Mommy take it away"

Sorry for you to hear this, but the game isnt about you
This game will stop being for me when NQ bans me from logging in.
Feel free to pledge your case to them.

Therefor no room to talk, because you are making up stuff that isn't there.
Just STFU.
1st I was here on alpha 2.
2nd To have an opinion all i need is to have a game account.
3nd you are equal to all players not more or less than everyone.

People wreck from rendering issues, or inexperience, or lack of talents flying heavy cargo. Not because they cant "see something". Those are facts.
All hail the master of all facts! All hail the great @VandelayIndustries.
He alone can determine what are facts relevant for this discussion and what are not.
If you find usefull seeing the outline of a station when aproaching it from its dark side, hide that fact. Because that fact is not approved by the great @VandelayIndustries.
And therefore is not a fact.
If you just joined the game struggled to make a basic ship to meet with your friend on another planet, spent hours traveling, and before you can land safely, you colide, die and spawn back on Alioth, its because you are a noob that deserved it. And if you ragequit its because this game is not for you. Because you are not like the great @VandelayIndustries

That can matter to attract new people
You attract more players if you make DU more forgiving for noob mistakes.
Needing a radar to not colide is not noob friendly.

No, my counter is that with the old sky box you could still see. we arent asking for "pitch black". NQ's stance on collisions was "use a radar that is the counter"
Ask what it fits your taste. But ask it as an option that others can opt out.
Does not make any sense to force your taste into others.

1 minute ago, VandelayIndustries said:
wrong it doesn't. You act like the old skybox was pitch black, it was not. Im guessing you didnt play during alpha 1 or 2.
Well call me a noob but it does for me.
What are you going to say to counter this? That you know what happens in my head better then me?

it doesnt prevent collisions though. I never collided with stuff all through alpha. Thats a cop out. You use your radar when flying at any meaningful speed. So once again you argument is null and void.
It does not matter what you do and how you play the game. The world does not rotate around you, your game play and your tastes.......
It does prevent colisions.
It prevents colisions on ppl that cannot afford a radar or dont know how to use it (new players)
It shows the size and shape of a space station, preventing colisions on aproach.
-
It should not be removed. At most it should have a option on settings to turn it of.
Then "eye sensitive" ppl like the op can turn it of.
While normal ppl can see objects in space tnx to the contrast created by the nebula.
-

Also, if you wanna go that route lets look at what NQ has said about all those COOL SPACE ELEVATORS people would run into. Use a radar NQ said.
Its not up to you to decide this.
Many players feel that the nebula does its job and preventing collisions.
Also, i agree there should be a OPTION in the config menu to change it back to black.
But im 100% against just removing it.

images from a crazy engineered telescope are not the same as your naked eye on the moon. Oh, you are telling me you arent smart enough to understand the difference between looking at something with the naked eye and thru a telescope? Do you think everyone in DU running around with a telescope.....LOL
The nebula has nothing to with realism or decoration.
The nebula was added to create some contrast between the dark part of space stations and the darkness of space.
To solve the issue of players colliding against stations because they could not see them.
Also, being smart has nothing to do with recognizing enhanced telescope images. You need knowledge and experience to do that.
If you dont know that most of the picture details in Hubble pictures were not captured using visible light, but instead, infrared, how can you understand how those images were "changed" so we could see colors we usually cant see.
Also, if you are in the middle of a dense (light blocking levels) gas nebula, you will see the nebula it self being illuminated instead of far away stars.

The new announcement of the features of Demeter frankly spells the end of the downward trajectory for newish players like me.
I dont think the features themselves are the problem.
The problem its the conditions needed to use the features..
I dont understand why we need to own a territory to build. Or to place a miner.
Someone may answer "people want to safeguard their right to mine and build"
My answer to them is: sure allow ppl to own territory but dont disallow other ppl to use free territory.
"What if someone buys a territory that already has a base there? Simple... The owner of that base has 7 days to remove the base or the base becomes abandoned.
If ppl can build and mine without owning territories, new players have a chance again.
-
Nice to see that you were able to overcome your hurdle.
But i have to agree that this is a problem with high impact on new players.
Something that needs a permanent fix.
Fast travel is one fix.
Choosing what market we respawn to is another.
A player that just died in Jago should be able to respawn in Jago.

I.e. we need tools from NQ that allows us to make interesting content, do more then just cosmetic/UI stuff with scripts, make proper custom missions, host markets etc.
Sure, i was being sarcastic..
In the end we need a ton of NQ sponsored content.
In my head, NQ could make player competitions for interesting content and then populate the world with copies of that content.
But that would require some concepts to be introduced:
Loot and loot boxes
Lua controled avatars
Creative mode with dev level tools
Then again this leads to AvA, NPCs and dungeons.

We need aliens.
Its a "player made content" game.
If you need aliens, ask them for alien skins so we can all role-playing as aliens.

Still trying to offend ppl with the prejorative verb "crying"?
But i can do the same:
Still crying about the nebula? Saying its about immersive gameplay when DU has immersion issues orders of magnitude more serious than this?
Its just a matter of taste, yours is not more important than mine.
