Engines and Containers. FreeForm

Give even more creativity to us players!

The shape of containers and engines can often be - especially for us designers - a real burden and limit if it comes to the creative process of designing one of those ships that make DU so different from any other SciFi game.

Please give us tools to fully design the shape of engines and containers!

For engines, that would be giving the more or less length, height, width, straight or curved walls, and free amount of the glowing thrust outlets, free positioning of those outlets, free shape (round, oval, square, rectangle), border or no border around those outlets, and free glowing color (if the player adds thrust outlets). Their performance equals that standard engine that they equal or exceed in volume. Those custom engines still have plenty details (greebles) that the player can add, to make their outside similar to those standard engines. Colors or textures can be chosen, even uploaded user images can be used for some or all regions. In case of straight-walled engine designs, even the angle of walls can be changed, instead of obligatory 90°.

Same shaping possibilkities for containers: longer/shorter, wider/narrower, taller/lower. Straight walls or curved. The volume of that customized container defines  to which of the standard containers the attributes will equal.

Surface parts and honeycombs would be used to build those custom shapes. Maybe those custom engine designs can be saved. And maybe the FreeForm can be expanded to hovers and other elements as well.

For a long time I offered them great ideas, and even painted the mechanics in general.

The idea looked like this ..

Our engines are a separate element, it is like a tank .. just an engine is a box, it can be installed anywhere in ships. But nozzles are connected to the box, links, the bottom line is that the nozzles themselves can be made in different sizes XS S M L which are connected and match the size of the engine, and the shape of the nozzles - where the thrust comes from, you can make round, triangular, flat, square, etc. And that's it ... complete freedom, we fix the engine itself inside the ship, put the outlet nozzles where we need to - behind, on the sides or down. And we choose the shape we need. Technically, nothing needs to be changed much, they already have everything, a link system, etc.

The location of the nozzles = the position of the engine right now .. the power is given by the boxes of the engine. And the visual part makes it possible to set the number of nozzles and the forms that the designer wants .. But no .. like most of the ideas here remained dead.

If they are worried about the balance of the cross section = engine thrust, then make an engine box of the same size as now and put 1 nozzle of the same cross section to it, for example, the dimensions of the XS S M L nozzles .. but of different shapes

The scheme is the simplest .. with links, we connect

Seat comtroller - Tank - Engine box - nozzle

Also them problem.. most idea here no any reply... no body know why?

They shoulbe reply..
1) Yes this idea we like.. but we dont have at now time to make it.. and we sure done with this idea in the future
2) N0, sorry this idea we cannot make for reason like this like this like this...

but we here give a lot idea (community) and most they.. nothing.. we dont have idea they are read it.. or no.. and agree or no..

That  old problem NQ.. they so bad with communication and planing them progress with game and community
