Catfish
Hey everyone, Any word on how we will communicate in game? Chat zones? Proximity voice chat? Etc. Cheers, Catfish
Lord_Void
Perhaps a mix of the above. I'm sure most people will communicate through out of game means: Discord, Teamspeak, Mumble.
Hades
Of course people will use out of game programs to communicate with people they know. But I am also curious how the in game chat will work If there is VoIP in game, I hope we can toggle it. Sometimes I prefer not hearing random people speaking. AccuNut
I would like to see local voice chat as an option. The issue with Discord / Teamspeak / Mumble is that you have to get invited to / know the server IP address of the channel in order to communicate. This is fine for groups of people who are already working together, but it would make it hard to communicate with people you don't know yet. There is already a similar thread here: https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/9889-in-game-voice/ Keep in mind, as far as I know nothing has been confirmed by NovaQuark on whether any of the ideas in that thread will be used.
