Ok so we don't have expansions... would you rather have 15 million players paying $14.99 month over 15 years like world of Warcraft or would you like to cash grab for 5 months with a pay 2 win cash shop and have all the real players quit playing after that Thats the difference in subs... and f2p (pay2win) Once you can convert a cash sold item into in game cash, any skill based players will flee the gsme Look at black desert right now the internet is full of the outrage that it went pay 2 in after 5months of not being that way. People have left the gsme in the thousands.. the company has had so many paypal charge backs demanding refunds that they closed their email section down!! Archeage before it did the same thing, and went down in flames. Warcraft? Still charging $14.99 a month, still has a huge player base. A freaking Movie with more on the way.. there is no cash shop to cheat with The way dual universe is setup, it's player base can keep expanding as the universe does onto more planets.. expanding empire borders and more subs
  3. Well asteroids won't just be flying around randomly.... if you get hit it would be cause someone was playing with an asteroid lol. As my idea of moving one into orbit for easier mining
  4. Its a legitiment tactic... as well as a real universe danger The earth could be struck at any moment.. in game planets should be the same
  5. OK... make it red.. maybe a different Booth design.. but I think it would be awesome for game GM's to have a tardis in game. You need a gm for help.. a tardiss can materialise on your ship.. on your planet.. anywhere and out he steps ready to help. That would be most awesome gm perk ever... way better than Warcraft gm island
  6. My idea was not to allow us to create a new element.... It was to create an object and imbue it with the properties of an already existing element As I stated before say your building a star trek ship.. you want your stattrek warp nacelles instead of the in game ftl drive whatever it looks like You could imbue your warp nacelle object with the attributes of the in game warp element... effectively making your nacelle function as that in game element

Id hope that comet and asteroid strikes would leave huge craters on planets : ) I was considering moving an asteroid into near planet orbit to mine then thought what if it got over tractored a bit and fell into the gravity well of the planet and boom hit the surface...should leave a massive crater
  8. Id say no planet resets. Look at what we have done to the earth... it's not exactly the lush garden of Eden it once was. If one wants to preserve their planet I'd suggest mining asteroids in need planet orbit : )
  9. Games fail cause they go pay to win... that's why games fail .. period..

Subscription is the only way to prevent pay to win.... every free game out there.. every game without a subscription is pay to win.. just look at the hell that black desert has caused the past few weeks. It was a non sub game just buy the game $49 and play.. the developers swore the game would never be pay 2 win.. then just 5 months into release with servers overflowing with players they start selling armor off the cash shop in game. Now if I want uber gear.. I can buy a few sets of armor on the cash shop then sell it in game for gold I take that gold and buy playable gear for myself so bits now pay to win.. The reason Warcraft has been around 20yrs is cause it has a sub. It has never.. and will never be pay to win.. there is no Warcraft cash shop. I hope dual universe goes the same way.. a monthly sub and expansion packs along the way.

  12. well we can compromise on size lol i'm fine with that... but i'd really like a true voxel star that you can fly around no mans sky is already getting heat for this i'd rather have a planet sized star thats real, than a fake 2d painting that has no gameplay value
  13. Please dont skimp out on stars.... Stars should be real voxel objects just as much as planets are. This alllows for a churning, solar flare erupting surface.. one that maybe your uber shields allow you to get close to the corona.. or the posibility of a star killer base with the right equipment a flat 2d painted star, wont allow for anything...
  14. From what I can tell, elements will make or break dual universe. They are the only things that will limit the types of objects created and the scope of the game. We need tons of elements.. or, the ability to create an element. Perhaps we could assing element attributes to a voxel created object, like in world of warcraft you can take an ugly piece of gear and assign it the looks of a pretty one.. not such a good comparasion but say we want to build a custom look engine.. so we get the voxel engine built and its just an object its not an element... we could then take a engine element that we have and assign its attributes to the custom look built voxel engine we created there making it an element that works for custom looks, like actually assigning ftl abilities to a custom built startrek warp nacelle so it really functions functionality wise the developers are gonna need a wide array of elements... jjust off the top of my head say for a death star you would need power amplifiers, that we could link together to keep boosting power output .. thats a simple one.. but then there is also say directional gravity generators .. if you had those you could put one near a star to pull corona material up and away from the star, with a stargate in orbit you could actually gravity pull that material into a stargate and use it as a weapon the material would exit another stargate and hit a planet elements elements elements... thats the only limiting factor we have, id definately suggest right off the bat every element that space engineers have and keep adding to that. the one way gravity generators i pulled from that.
  15. Warp travel is cool.. but we should have exotic engines as well... hard to find maybe even ancient relic engines such as jump drives and wormhole generators Different ship drives gives more play ability but exotic should either be hard to find it take a way developed tech level to research..
  16. Should have elements that would allow the construction of different sized stargates... say we build a circle the size needed then attach an element making it a statgate. The gate would have a matching gate elsewhere and be a direct link between the two. This is a one destination device it only transports you to the opposite gate.

    Blueprints!

    We need a way to save a design blueprint once we build something nice so that we can replicate the exact same item again or even sell the blueprint so others can construct the item I'm mainly thinking about ships but should work for any construction. Say your group wants all it's ships to have a certain look like star wars the empire wants all it's star destroyer's identical.. you can take the blueprint and as long as you have all the materials needed produce the ship over and over.

  19. Antimatter would probably be a byproduct of very large power generators or even warp drives would be something like waste if you didn't need it, you would collect it out of your engines daily or without thatbequipment flush it into space
  20. Id see a star more as a gas giant than a liquid since it's surface is Constantly being radiated outward Water effects could be cool though then you could exploit that with gravity generators and amplifiers
  21. I like your cargonpod housing idea... I'd first dig a trench and cover them with dirt to hide them
  22. In space engineer I would build large mining ships with opposing arms and drill mitts.. would fly up, embrace an astwriod and it would just grind to dust. So anything is possible with the right moving pieces
  23. I don't really like forced safe zones at all.. when okaywrs themselves at some point will have the universe divided up into fleets and then those should provide security for their own sectors
  24. Is like that the game evolved it's on safe guards such as maybe your sector is owned by the raging barbarians guild so you petetion them for defence since it's their sector these guys are straying into to kill you
  25. Well the big difference is they don't have to build any ships or in game assets just provide the raw materials on planets.. most of star citizens time has went into getting ships right with reworks
