  1. I'd love to see a 3-D printer-type item that allows you to make your designs that goes through several physic tests (barrel clogged, bullet caliber fits through barrel, waterproof, costs of materials ect.

  2. Here is how to solve the "defenders paradox".

    The paradox:

The defenders have a stationary heavily fortified base made of a material, lets say, Materialium.

The attackers use "materialium" on their ships as well, making them just as strong as the defenders.

    THE SOLUTION:

Make stations have special blocks that have increased armor, and ships won't have it.

  3. @Asimos, Thanks for pointing that, by some upsetting miracle, I only learned of this game today so I am not caught up on all the dev blogs.

@Kuritho, hopefully that is a decision I get to make, although there will most likely be some feature of physics in the game, like the rocket equation for traveling though stargates, so I have opportunity to bust out my calculator and spreadsheets, to find out just how many billions of AAAs i should pick up at CaptainTwerkmotor's costco gas.

I'd actually opt for the BigBangBatteries. (BBB)

They have twice the power at a fraction of the cost.

  4. If that is the case good sir, I know what kind of robot I'll be making. The kind of one yelling "EXTERMINATE, EXTERRRRMINAAAATE!"{ xD :P

I'd just make 1 that is a sentry that plays a warning like:

Back Off, you are Trespassing the KWS Property!

  5. When it comes to A.I. I think it will be something more in the lines of programming moving parts in your ship or vehicle in general. Who knows, we'll have to wait and see.

Imp, I think an AI could be either bought by someone or programmed yourself (or use a default one).

I think a regulator AI would be nice as well.

  6. I'd love to have a companion over the long dark void of the universe...

And maybe some fresh lunch if the situation gets desperate.

    AI COMPANION

I'd love to see an advanced AI giving you some hints, maybe try to start a universal conversation:

Is the tomato a fruit or a vegetable?

Hey! Look! DIRT! You don't see that everyday.

Is the cake really a lie?

    Why are we here again...

Woo... we actually did it. My calculus suggested below 0.1 success rate.

    Just some conversations idea.

Maybe power consumption just... for realism. Upgrading the core to have different personalities as well.

    CREATURES COMPANION

I dunno. This would be pretty obvious. Maybe the pet would circle around you ever so often.

Eat something, herd animals. You know, the usual stuff.

Why should I adopt (or make) one?

    Brilliant question!

    Well... utility.

Remember kids, its only animal abuse if you get caught.

    Don't abuse animals. That's wrong.

  7. I'd love power usage as it would allow huge solar farms be constructed just to gather some energy.

It would also make exploration not a "do I have enough reactors?" but more like a "I'm low on fuel. I should conserve it".

Which would make huge colony ships sent into space trying to find uranium and hydrogen (assuming there are hydrogen-based generators).

I mean, of course, we could just stock up on a few billion batteries and be lazy.

  8. Bio-ships would be a great add on. Maybe different ships require different fuels (herbivore, photosynthetic [simply a giant solar panel], carnivore [Venus Flytrap style], and of course, mechanical [simply an electronic-like self-replicating nanobot.])

  9.

Something living on the planets beyond the odd deer would be nice, on top of all the natural threats.

    I'm thinking:

    • Some kind of man eating bug like infestation common on a few planets (think a scaled back starship troopers)
    • Some ancient drones protecting those alien ruins the devs mentioned
    • Booby-trapped wrecks from battles gone by

Id love to see an infestation type enemy that slowly grows (Warframe's Infested, The Flood from Halo) and takes over player made buildings that are either overrun or abandoned. I'd love to see a colony desperately fighting to defend itself from waves of organic enemies.

Would be fun to cleanse a completely overrun planet as well.

  10. We all know that in science-fiction movie, there is usually a colony reference.

    What about in DU?

    THE MAIN IDEA:

On inhabitable planets, there should be advanced and rare materials on them, encouraging to "terraform" them and allow easier resource transfers on it.

On the idea of BLOCKADES and FLEET MANAGEMENT (link coming soon),

rival factions would love to prevent transportation of live saving energy, water, food, oxygen, fuel, ect, starving the colony until it falls.

After  an ample amount of terraforming, the colony should be able to survive on its own.

    THE OTHER IDEAS:

Enemies could be able to impersonate the alliances, getting free resources while the friendly alliance will wonder what their stuff has gone.

  11. You can thank me for that idea ;)   To expand on what was just said I will add to it that this could make galactic E-Sports a thing WITHIN a game. Virtual reality can also serve the function of any other wacky mini game that just wouldn't make sense in the main universe. The game itself is one giant story that every player gets to take part in. The more it feels like a second life the better.

I think bounty would make a great mechanic to counter people who like to be mean for no reason.

Then, people who want to mine could have hire factions to protect them, of course for a price.
