  1. Okay okay i'm sorry for the regular updates, but i am genuinely excited about this one! We have merged with The Cinderfall Syndicate as of 3/17/17. Khatt Mining Co. is now the official mining division for CSYN, while allowed to participate in our own foreign affairs to a degree as well. I completely re-wrote everything so ill keep this short so you don't have to read another wall of text. Read the new description to learn more, or PM me for more questions. Cant wait to see you all in the final game! ^.^

    -Khatt

God damn it, now I cant make you join us without forcing the CSYN to give up on you. This is making me Zed.

Guess I will just wait 3 years until the CSYN implodes or you just leave, lul

    :(

  2. I really hope the max speed limit for "Space Travel" is different from "Planetary Travel".

That'd make certain maneuvers actually very efficient and useful.

That would create some imbalance. Everyone would start attacking from space if that's the case.

    - But I would like it too. It's more realistic... that's basically why I would like it.

    - Spacestations are better anyway

  3. It doesn't sound like a bad idea tbh. If it works out then that'd be nice, especially for smaller orgs! Some of us might need a loan to jumpstart our orgs so we don't get swallowed up by the bigger orgs. I could see people like pirates just taking a loan and never paying back or just outright try to rob you. That would suck :/

That's why "The New Empire" exists. We care about everyone who's friendly :P

  4. There are too many plans there involved. Do as you wish - all I can say on that matter is: I've seen many many groups and people fail in betas because they expected something else. Then the whining started and accusations and it was a mess. Bad PR for those games followed, only because some dudes were too eager with their planning instead of waiting for beta and THEN making plans, based upon mechanics and actual gameplay. Been there, done that - never, ever again.

I may be stupid, but I am not a fool.(lol)

I know what you mean, but as I said: I am not a fool(And hopefully not stupid either). :D

Some fail, some succeed... I have been the second type most of the time. :D

  5. I'm very interested and involved but I have no plan...or clue. Because to me you can't plan ahead like Falstaf said, and Beta is more fun if you just try out every aspect of the game without bias or regulations from your org. You can't fight what you don't understand..... ;)

So yeah, just roll with it, and don't be too disappointed when things don't work out as planned

You surely can plan ahead. Pretty far actually. You just have to avoid planing things that arent guaranteed. Or if you have to plan with unguaranteed things, you just have to plan many different ways to nearly guarantee the wished outcome.

Theory is the way to go to ensure a good start. I can't even have no plan even if I wish to have none, I am creating one as soon as I start thinking about the game.

Obviously, Beta isn't something you will use any plans in. Maybe some minor plans like what to try out first, but that's it. But at the end for me the beta/alpha is just to work out my Major plan for the release. :D

    Rice really is the best

  6. meh.  I don't see a point in being a part of any org prior to release.

This isn't to say that others can't or don't have good reasons... just that I don't.

I don't have any idea really what activity I'm going to most enjoy doing or what will need an org to help organize it... Until I actually get to play the game.  I don't know what will actually be a viable play style... if say a person could never leave a town... provide crafting services... sell wares... and issue quests for crafting components... and whether doing that would be fun.  Or if I'll find a loner asteroid miner or other such thing more to my liking.

I expect most orgs made now won't survive long.  The only thing I think could have some value (for me) would be some sort of pre-release social club that closed to new membership after release... except for adding your alts... so people who have been around from the beginning could hang with each other.

I'm an alt-aholic in most games.  I make characters with certain character traits in mind... even if I don't partake in any overt role-playing... There is an element of role play in every character I make... they aren't me.  And I tend to split my time between them evenly... I'm not sure if I can do that in this game.  And the idea of having a main character... a representation of me for the long term... the years it may take for the civilization within the game to grow and expand ... for my character to stick around in an org... is sorta weird to me.

But the Op was taking about artificially inflating your organizations membership numbers in order to attract members...  Yeah that's clearly something you shouldn't do.

I agree that the most of the organisations created now won't last for long. Some don't because elements they expected to exist won't work or just simply because they are just dreaming without doing something for it.

I also agree that joining an organisations this early doesn't make sense for some people, but for people who actually know their playstyle, joining an organisation may help them find a group to help each other early in the game.

Most people in this forum should have a plan tho.

  7. Hello, my name is twoshell and I just want people to say Hi.

Hello, all I am twoshell. I am currently living in Canada and am a Gold Level Backer hoping to be probably higher soon. I am 16 and I work at McDonalds I.R.L. I also am a member of the Empire and also the          Lead Website Developer for http://dualempire.com/

Thank you for reading and maybe saying Hi!

    Waddup.

The website is... very pretty. The loading-time would be bad if you intend to have people check the site more often, but overall it's visually good.

Oh man, "Empire". As the leader of "The New Empire" I really gotta win that fight of Webpages :P

Good luck and have fun to you :D

  8. I believe JC has stated the "demo" star system is not to scale of the actual game.  Planets will be much further from each other in the actual game.

I would hope that to travel from the star, to the farthest planet in the system would not take less than 30 minutes, or more than an hour (at top speed of course).

But I bet some of that would be dependent upon your ship  :P

Correct. I should have definied "long" a bit.

30 minutes isn't long in my perspective.

But as I said, we could just simply keep talking about what could be. The (half) real deal will be probably seen in the Alpha/beta.

    :D

  9. Well, if that's your plan, it will take tens of hours to get to another planet, and that would be in the same system. Remember FTL doesn't exist until it is researched, discovered and developed, and ill bet the materials to do that aren't naturally on Alitoh.

The travel time between planets won't be long. Ofc it will take time to actually build a ship that's capable of flying, but as soon as we got working ships, we will head as soon as possible to one of the farest planets at the current time.

Actually, we can't even say how much time it will take to travel to the next planet. We may know it as soon as the Alpha starts.

That's also the reason why all the answers to this quesion are temporary and not reliable.

All that's sure about our plan is that we will take a flight to a planet far away to build calmly without any pressure(That's why I kept writing with "Not really"s. The "Not really tens of not really hours" were to point out that we won't waste hours of flying just to get to a planet far away. We would just get pressure knowing that we wasted hours for that)

When to do it or how is a question we may answer as soon as the Alpha starts.

  10. The New Empire will take a ship and fly (Not really)-tens of (Not really)-hours away to build up on an (Not really)-unknown planet no one cares about.
This will ensure that less pressure is given(Competing, Biggest ship - Biggest D...) and everyone will be able to experience the game in a more peaceful environment.

    No players - No troubles.

Well, if someone actually manages to find us we can just lock 'em up and force them to join us MUAHAHAHAHAHA(Which will happen due to the limitation of planets you can travel to).
    Kappa.

You like the plan? Check our organsiation ffs!
    Luv u.

  11. Sounds good, good luck with that. I know there are threads on player made jails and such you should check out. I guess we shall see what comes of orgs like this when the official game launches because wars are bound to happen and you may need a lot of members in order to make a dent in the category you are persuing.

    https://board.dualthegame.com/index.php?/topic/10475-player-prison/?hl=jail#entry40221

Yeah, it's hard to predict the amount of members we will be able to gain.

Once we managed to get 120, once we only had 50 and the next time we had 170(3 different games).

It's pretty hard to find someone who wants to follow the same ideology. Destroying and killing others is too much fun for the majority.

    I never liked that. :D
