I bought a cheap 49k grasshopper. Flew there. I am fixing the ship now. I really do not like the control scheme for the ship. I much prefer my mouse controlled control scheme but cannot seem to apply that to this ship.
It's probably set to "hoovercraft"?

Don't worry - terrain walls will be the least of your problems. Once the air safe zone has been removed folks will be building rail gun turrets right at their property lines and devastating everything within 40km.

If we had hand weapons we could make a security guard profession.

Thanks, it worked - I watched the video and it made sense. I was having issues pasting the code but the json paste worked. I watched the above tutorial video.

I mean, to be fair, you are choosing the grind life. Have you considered playing with other people? You can join an org, or you can even stay solo but make contacts to do projects. One thing our org does, is set up a small 100% automated industry that only takes T1. It produces 7mil quanta a day selling to bots. We then use that quanta to buy things we need. When we divvy up the mining duties its maybe 1 hour of mining to keep the machines on. And if they shut down for a little it's not the end of the world, they turn right back on. With that quanta we use to purchase everything we need, and work on other projects that interest us. Not saying everything is 100% ez but with some effort trying to meet people, you can find things you enjoy and monetize it to a degree. The biggest mistake I see brand new people do is thinking they need to build every thing themselves. I only make fuel and voxels. Every thing else I find on the market. And usually at pretty good prices. Ya I have to mine a little, bit that becomes a very small percentage of my game time. My alt with industry skills make it more efficient too.
Wait, you don't even need to move the goods to the markets? Sounds like an exploit.

Depends on the materials - lower tiers = faster.

But how does your system run Landmark? I guess that would be almost comparable if Landmark took place on a dozen or so planets/moons and had space ships.
-
Long distance travel to "free" areas teaches players how to fly a hovercraft, which is good. It also teaches them repair, etc. If they pay attention they'll also learn some basic ship component mechanics.
-
Aside from seeing some nice ships what is the point of the ship museum if we can't either buy or make blueprints of the ships there?
-
Well technically you are doing an "instant shuttle" between sanct and Alloth. Once AI is in and it can fly I can see this actually taking more than the load times. I also am not sure if the transports between districts in Alloth will make it long term and also they are short range of about 20km max.
Also, just no. Supply and demand - if planet X only has ABC and planet Y only has DEF then instant transporting between the two would negate any reason to make ore planet specific ergo no reason for folks to make a trip to sell ore for more on planet y where the ore would be worth more to folks not wanting to make the trip.

Wait until the OP finds out the cake is gone.

A "locate construct" will not help, because the speeder is below the surface and not reachable. But the info about the 100k per day is useful. Because of bugs I have lost the speeder and about 150k.
You can do a "recall" from the map on any construct not more than 4k away. Ergo if your ship is "below ground" you can get it back via the M or F4 key, right clicking on the construct, and click "recall" or is it "retrieve", and your ship will be dropped in front of you.

Well topically this thread is incorrect. Mechanically I am of two minds - one, yeah it sucks to have your ship moved without your consent to PvP space and destroyed. However, the mechanics used to do this are sound. Why, do you ask, easy:
1) You want players to remove junk from their property. So we don't want the ability to remove constructs from your land as that just means folks will grief you by parking borg cubes on your ship/base so you can't use it.
2) You want players to be able to tow other player's ships (as a "business" or as an "org function" or something similar). This is immersive and potential gameplay - AAA ship transport and towing.
3) You were offline but 1 and 2 still need to be viable as not having them would allow worse things to happen or not allow emergent gameplay
I don't see folks complaining about people free range mining land they haven't claimed.
I don't see folks complaining about people putting borg shells over their property as a "denial of use" effort.
Yes it sucks, yes it's a lesson for us all, but no, as the game mechanics were used and you did park your ship at an insecure location and it got stolen, it is not an exploit. Sadly I can't agree with the OP no matter how much I want to agree with the OP.
Bottom line: Sucks - yes, exploit - no.

Not sure, but as an OB I don't mind beta lasting longer.

If you have a ship with a container you can link to that container and move your goods into that container. Ask in game for how to do it.
If you hold shift and drag the mats you can split off a stack into your marketing container.
-
the alternative was giving away the BP in a free for all container and selling the mats.. Someone was doing this with some sort of surf board looking thing.

Do your inventory items have a white box around them with a little person in the corner? That means you've claimed the item. Just right click and unclaim and see if that doesn't fix it. Al
For faster help there is also an in-game support chat. Just hit enter and click on the support tab. Usually they try their best to help.

I am seeing 90-100% GPU utilization on my 2080TI so it's the engine. I also have 64GB of RAM tied into an AMD 3900x. The engine need a lot more optimization.

Yeah, they average 150,000 - 200,000 depending on demand at the time.
-
It'd be nice if they'd do a weekly blog discussing what they are working on and upcoming major patch features, etc... the last news post is from over a month ago talking about beta launch. Somewhere on site, so folks can easily find it...

With the mining tool, hit the middle mouse button and it will auto dig. Put the cursor over ore and hit the middle mouse button again and it will mine ore - once the circle is full size you need to hit left click.

I threw together a little ship, a territorial marker, and stuffed it and everything else in my pocket and moved to Alloth. I periodically hop a shuttle back to Sanc to move industry back to my new site.
Leaving safe zone is consenting to PvP.

Locking content behind a PvP area is not consent to PvP - it's just players trying to get to locked content and avoiding people with ego issues.
