Problem is this could be seen as favourtism towards certain orgs, then you need responsible players to guide every new player as they come in the game and show them every little basic function. Pretty impossible to do. Then you have the issue that even after completing the tutorial people are still very much confused how to play the game, although I understand you felt it was a lot, others have said it wasn't enough and there is nothing wrong with either as some people learn by playing whereas some learn by tutorials.

Eve Online found out very quickly that the better they made the new player experience the higher retention the game had and now has a super good tutorial, WoW has also gone down this route with their new 1 - 10 new player leveling area.

My idea is more to use what we currently have but streamline it better, implementing this should be fairly easy as its already ingame just requires moving.

You are trying to reinvent shorthand that is not in need of reinventing.

Every video gamer in the world recognizes that the letters PVP next to a game's description means they can compete against other players.  If it is a racing game, you race against other players. If it is a shooting game, you shoot other players.

Games like DU and Eve allow other forms of PVP but things like market competition are rare enough within games that they should be spelled out rather than abbreviated.  If you want to specify combat PVP, then its best to say ship vs ship  PVP or PVP ground combat. If someone were to tell me a game had combat, I would want to know what I'm fighting against.

This reminds me of the years of arguing on Eve Online that shooting a miner was not classed as "PVP" as the person didn't have the ability to fight back.

If you play an mmorpg you are pvping period, any of these activites you are playing agaisnt another play : Mining, Trading, 'Combat' as you would call it. Regardless, PVP is what it is and has been for a long time.

Honestly, I don't know why it even matters that much
