    While I understand, I dont think its up to the devs to do anything about such things.

     

    Yes people will want some simple tools to deal with the most obvious problems.

    But this being a sandbox with this much freedom you shouldnt set too many hard limitations.

     

    Just accept that there will be idiots, you will get griefed sometimes and there will be plenty of people doing stupid things like flying into your building with obvious phallus shaped things.

     

    Setting hard limitations on such things will only diminish the game, not add to it. I'll even go as far and say GM intervention should be restricted to the most serious issues. Like hacking and similar offences that cross the line.

     

    Its already a big thing that the safezone is non pvp. :)

    The phallus thing again. Come on. Not again... Anyway I don't see the problem for someone to create one, nor one for some org to track those down.

     

    Edit : I wouldn't like to spoil everything, but what about GM? Will there be some? How many? It's still not documented I believe. Or will there be devs that will actually also be GMs? Or will the CM the GMs' chief?

    Welp, I wouldn't like to see people sprinting around all the time. I would like to see people walking like normal humans do in an MMO.

     

    A crowded city would be quite jarring if everyone was to be sprinting around like lunatics. That's why I want a stamina system. To avoid people spamming the Jump key or be sprinting about.

     

    As well as the aforementioned survival gameplay it can provide a group of people going for planet-hunting for a profit.

     

    A stamina system is definitely needed. But there is one even in Minecraft... But I don't see the link with my previous post.

    Sure.

    Just remember, we don't have to make a large profit on everything, and there are some groups that do not like Imperials who could do with some extra equipment. Just saying.

    Well I didn't know 'raising livestock' was only for the survival genre. We might have to eat too, but maybe the animals you can breed are not only intended for that.

    I think it's one of the interview JC gave to DU Explorers or Yamamushi on PAX West,, but he did say that the further you are from the rest of the playerbase the harder it will be to get access to food.

    MMO can be about, even slightly, about survival. It's a sandbox MMO and 'survival' it could be, or become, at a range.

    Space legs are a feature planned for future expansions. It's going to be interesting how they'll handle it, since the game lore doesn't feature artificial gravity (which is why all the larger space stations are rotating). Personally I'm not expecting walking being a thing in Elite before 2018 at the earliest, they'll probably want to add atmospheric planets first.

     

    It's also going to be interesting if / how they'll make walking VR-friendly; Elite Dangerous is currently pretty much the poster child of the fledgling home VR market, they probably wouldn't want to lose that status if they can help it.

    I heard that game was purely about extensions every year like WOW pushing you to pay a lot. Yeah well VR on DU should be awesome.

    I know. No colors is a good thing though. I didn't have the will to change the text color and twerk's posts were just standing out much. I have to change my font though...

    For the 5th point though, it's great new, as lot of buddies wanna have their meshed imported, this solution of holograms is the perfect one: it's not cheated, but of course I expect of the machinery to project this kind of holograms to have a cost (I always talk about costs, but I believe it's obvious they are needed always, maybe you don't).

    Welcome. You could add a description of what your looking for in the forum. There sure are interesting topics, even more since there was the meetup with the NQ team in Paris. Feel free to look at the multiple reports on the meetup as there are topics about that, and also the NQ topis of Q&A.

    Thanks for reading the backstory because I didn't. Maybe it hides some major update for the future, like AI aliens, or AI other humans like us, theories about the KS's 'secret' development have already been made up.
