  1. I don't remember the exact video maybe it was Q&A or an interview but they plan to add it on steam some time later after release, for now it will be standalone in the start but later on it will be available on steam as well. No idea how long it will be though so that is uncertain.

  2. Ah, I think I misunderstood the post then, but if it is about tethering cables then I can definitely see their uses and how advantageous it can be to have them, though I do not know if they will be available in game on release but let us all hope we will have.
     

    It has nothing to do with me flying around like in just cause....nothing at all.

I don't think we will be able to make large space elevators but I am sure if you can bring the ship near to the surface of the asteroid then you can make a temporary or even permanent sort of lift that will be able to transport players and materials directly from ship to the asteroid base if the ship is close to the surface of the asteroid. I don't see any reason as to why this may not be possible.
    You could even make a docking platform with a lift going down to the base.

  4. What is really fair, and what is really the penalty here? I suppose what isn't fair is the fact that we, as humans, are all different from one another, and that the penalty is that one will not find solutions to ones problems if one does not so much as attempt to be creative and solve ones problems in the first place. I mean, can they not befriend someone who can script? Or, can they not take part of the economy, and purchase the services of someone who can script? Is it not realistic that factions will have different people, with different set of skills, and that this could, and most likely would result in secrecy, spying, and feuds between factions; in short, politics, which Dual Universe has advertised for a long time?

    Indeed the idea behind factions is to group together people of different skills or maybe even if your faction is concentrated on one or two skills then they can hire others who do have the skill-set needed for executing the task.

     

    As far as automated elements goes, it is already said that they will be there and it has also been mentioned that they will not be as good as humans and I agree with Danger's idea of the following articles not running at full efficiency and maybe only 20-40%.

     

     

    Just thought of another thing that might be interesting with scripting as well. The ability to install cameras and link them to those big data monitors they showcased in the videos. It would allow the creation of remote security monitoring. 

    That would be awesome and would bring a whole new dimension to the game, anywhere from live reporting(in-game), Maintaining watch or any 'n' number of uses, while I do not think it will be available anytime near the release date but we can always hope that they will indeed introduce such features. :D

  5. This is cool of them. But how big are these guys? And whoever they are, they either didn't think or didn't care that finding them by googling their name would be next to impossible. :/

    I don't think they are a very big and only 150 followers on twitter, couldn't find anything else about them really. But yea cool of them to mention DU :D

  6. Another thing that could be used would be a "breeding" mechanic where as long as there are 1 or 2 animals on a planet more could spawn every so often. This would also allow for planets to be purged of hostile mobs as well as force people to "play nice" with nature as you would be able to kill it all off. Would also possibly be useful for later when there are core worlds that people want to be far safer than other planets

    The idea of "breeding" mechanism while quite good poses the problem that indeed a planet can be purged of a specific species and while some people may play nice I don't think the general populace will care much about it and just destroy it unless ofcourse they get a loot or some reward from killing those that they leave some or breed them for that matter to kill them which would then again introduce the problem of grinding. That's why I think that purging them should hold them from spawning for some time but they should auto spawn some time after perging.
