  1. Sigh. Even though it downloaded faster - same damn problem. The Launcher verifies the files then just disappears. And if I launch again it just starts the download process all over again. There is not any kind of error message or crash report etc. It just does nothing. This really sucks.
  2. Yeah I tried that - but no luck. What I've now done is completely cleared out everything I could using the Uninstall .exe that they have (which worked). I double checked to make sure the directories were removed - at least the ones I can see. I restarted the download/install process. One thing that is different is it is now downloading much faster. Before I was getting a super slow rate at 700-800K b/s but now I'm getting 2.2 mb/s. So that is a hopeful sign. even at 2.2 mb/s it's a long download process. I'm used to getting dowload speeds of 7-8 mb/s from Steam where I usually purchase my computer games. I do use a VPN service (AVG) so I'm wondering if that may have effected something or not? Anyway, will report back once this new download is complete.
  3. So now I'm having this problem after fixing an account problem. 1. I go to my account and hit download button. 2. I save a file that sets up the Launcher App. 3. I launch the Launcher App and it begins downloading. 4. When it is finished downloading, it verifies the files - everything looks good. 5. Then the Launcher simply disappears. (Crashes??) 6. I start the Launcher again and it begins downloading all over again (note this download takes at least an hour if not more). Note: I then went to check the files on my disk for DU, and found that the Launcher creates a Temp directory where it then loads a ZIP file of the game. But when the launcher 'disappears' at the end of the download ... the Temp directory and zip file are deleted, and so the whole thing starts all over again. Anybody got a clue on this?
  4. Make sure you set the Application to Administration run. I think I ran into that same problem. Also some anti-virus programs can stop a new application from running but they often warn you first. So, I would make sure the launcher has Admin access first.
  5. Just to throw this out there, but was anyone else "somewhat" confused on how DU downloads? i.e. Apparently the game requires multiple separate downloads, each about 6 Gigs, but it doesn't really tell you that - so it looks like you're just downloading the same thing over and over again? I'm assuming the game is more than 6Gigs large, but oddly, there isn't a lot of information to be found to confirm this.
  6. Well, as a follow up I finally was able to fix the problem on my own (nothing from the support desk) but not too big a surprise as they are obviously quite busy right now, what I did was simply use another email account that I have via gmail (that I use for Youtube). Using this along with the Recruiter Activation code worked and I am now able to download the game. NOTE: My case may be unique as I went through an authenticated game recruiter and received an activation code from him. i.e. I purchased the game code via paypal from him (not Dual Universe directly). So this may be the problem with the Recruitment process. So hopefully they will get to this soon as it is pretty frustrating. I'd prefer the account was with my main email account, not the secondary one I rarely if ever use.
  7. I think I did something similar. I bought a subscription from a Recruiter and received an Activation code via the email. At the point their system apparently had no idea I had purchased anything. I then went to the website to 'Create an Account' but realized there was no Activation code in the Account Creation procedure. But I had already entered my email. I went back to the email my Recruiter had sent me and clicked a link inside it. I was then suppose to receive an email automatically that never came. So I went back the website and tried "Create an Account" but this time I got a different "Create Account" page where I could enter an Activation code? Do they have two different sign-up pages? In any case, I put in my information with the Activation code I had purchased and then I get the error "Display Name" is incorrect. I substitute a "Display Name" and I get all the check marks, I hit enter - and now it says "email" already being used. So the long and the short of it - I'm in the same spot you're in. I purchased the game, an Activation code. But the system thinks I already have an email or have already activated my subscription when I haven't. Quite frustrating.
  8. I did this and still no email. 2 days ago I subscribed and I cannot create an account or change a password (that the system apparently has). I'd like to play the game but no matter what I've tried, the system doesn't allow me to create an account.
  9. Yeah I saw this message. I've clicked on the "Reset Password" many times. Nothing ever arrives at my mailbox.
  10. Yeah, I've put in two tickets. Got an automatic generated reply. But checking these forums, apparently I'm not the only one with this problem ... so I figure I just gotta be patient. Sigh.
  11. Yes I was hoping they fixed the problem this morning too but no dice. I guess this is where you just got to be patient. Patience is a virtue right? They probably have some kind of code security check somewhere in the software that is buggy, that has poor algorithm logic regarding the status of an account i.e. what is active and what is not. I got some really bizarre errors with "Display Name" not correct. Or that my email was already in use. So the system thinks I have an account already when it just has my email. But apparently the problem is even deeper because it is effecting people like you who already have had accounts. It's really borked.
  12. This is what happened to me attempting to start a new account. Not sure if I'm the only one or not. Anyone else do this, or have this problem? 1. Went to the create account on the website. It asks for your email first. Put in my email and a password. 2. Go to next webpage and it asks me for Credit card info, but there is no Activation entry box for the Recruiter activation code I received (from a 3rd party) 3. So I stop the procedure as I want to make sure the Recruiter gets credited. 4. I then click on the link I received from the Recruiter in an Email they sent me. 5. I get this message "PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL TO ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT" 6. I wait 5 minutes nothing ever arrives at all in my email box. 7. I go back to website. Apparently it does now have my email & password so I click on LOG IN button 8. But LOGIN button says sorry there was an Error with Authentication 9. I request new password 10. Nothing is sent to my email My guess is there is a programming error is a chicken and egg problem. That is, I provided my email and a password which the database did save, but then I did not finish the transaction. Decided to use the New Account link provided by a Recruiter. But that link thinks I already have an account because it has the email/password saved (but I really DON'T have an account yet). So I'm stuck in limbo land. The database has my email/password, some part of the program thinks I have an account, and another part of the program doesn't think I have an account. And nothing works.
  13. I've been having the same problem. Contacted the third party Xsolla billing company but even they couldn't help me after even sending them a screenshot of my paypal transaction. First time I've bought a computer game and can't even download it! Frustrating as heck. No response yet after I ticketed the item. Just won't let me create a new account - says my email is already in use. Yeah, that would be me, I'm the only one using it. Ironic, was able to register for these forums in under a minute. No problem.
