  1. in DU you will not have only voxels you can make some pre-made parts to attach one each other, and also you can make and script new parts.

    My company will bring some interesting design of ships and drones for the market,

     

    some based on famous series, for the fans, other my own layouts,

  2. I think as MMO a full PVP game is great, but as a sand box, .... seems only will attract griefers and similar chaotic players,

    But there is one think Devs must take in consideration if they want all kinds of player on their game.. Not all players like to fight 24/7

    Many players, as myself,  plays sandbox as builder oriented game play, we mine, we build, we sell, we like to build not destroy,
    and become very frustrate if some jerck with a warship blow up our workshop or station we took 3+ months to build in fine details and well scripted.

     

    I hope game provide ways for creation of stealth technologies and ways to flee and jump away on hyperspace when your scans alert that enemy or unknown ships are approaching to your position.

     

    If the game provide no way to protect the builder players creations, we will see in most clumsy creations, just functional but not really artistic detailed stations and ships. Because builders will not put that much effort on a creation that can be griefed by trolls just to feel like kicking a kid's sand castle.

     

    I know ark city will be safe and my starship factory will be there if its possible to player build that place

    My intent is to bring the most advanced ships and i don't want no competitor arrive to wipe my factory away

     

  3. I've already wrote one or two topics about Alien NPC, i know in early stages they probably not exists, but since this game is not only a sand box but an MMO to

    would be nice to have, later on game, some sort of Alien presence that could be randomly discovered like:

    Ruins: with unknown material that player must study to learn its properties and uses and lore
    like, with some advanced tier scan a player can find a Alien buried ruin or ship wrecked, where he could scrap and unknown metal, after some time (real time) and study he could get the right skill point to work with that metal and replicate it from known mats, after that will be an other learn process of experimentation to know if that metal is strong for engines, weapons, shilled or to mix and refine other tech man know. That would be interesting as MMO because only that character (and other few player chars that found and pass to the hole process) would be able to deal with that metal and they would become more individual and exclusive and their crafts more valuable (maybe) for the market.

    Ships: Not passive as ruins but working quiet as similar, very rare alien aggressive drone ships could be found on space, those will attack the player on sight, after a successfully fight and winning the parts could be achieve and maybe some new working technology found, but since is alien it can be used, recharged but not replicated so easily, maybe one guy like before example that know some about work with right alien mat could do the job.

    PVE: Once more, since its a MMO (sandbox) game it could have at some point some sort of PVE, (not telling that must be included at betas or launch)
    a lot of players like pve over pvp. PVE stimulate union and alliance, and friendship (while only pvp stimulate a lot of aggression between players )
    Many times in other games i have saw some peace agreement between enemies to take care of some real hard PVE challenge. 
    Those are very fun events with great coordination needs from leaders and tolerance from players that use to fight themselves on sight.
    (like Guardian of Galaxy movie where Nova troop and Pirates team up to stop the eminent destruction of the planet)
    as lore, lets suppose as examples before, after 100 random rare alien drone have been found and destroyed. a Huge alien mother ship random  spawns from the warp and start to move against a colonized planet, this is a thread to all brand new human colony and also for the survival of the specie.
    That would make all companies and other player that live on and from that sector (even as robber or pirate) to forget their differences for a while and team up to destroy that common enemy protect their way of life.
    (and maybe if the alien ship wins the fight it lands and populate the planet with aggressive insectoids or other alien life, after that the ship goes away despairing on the warp living no trace. the planet must be cleaned and re taken after things become normal again.)
    This type of game interactions are fun, strategy hard, and give player chances to make friends and know better each other.

     

     

    i think there is a lot of possibilities where Aliens can be included in the game without breaking the lore.


     

  4. 1: I think TAG system will cover it

    2: Nice if we can setup and audio alert before automatic weapons start function

    3: Its a pvp game, will be wars

    4: Shields and other pvp items i think will be included and updated a lot during the game life

    5: same for the weapons, but would be nice if different physics could be applied to increase the fight strategy  

    6: It will have the Ark and some other Ark like bubbles, those will be the only safe zones, its a pvp game at all 

    7: Some ppl were talking about furry fluffy tails and other ads, Maybe players will be free to create their customization items.

    No one here take YOU seriously in fact so don't give me the credit, you are just a troll that has nothing better to do hole day than reply ppl with junk language, 
    you say i don't know about economics, but i only see you bark a lot but say nothing useful to prove i'm wrong, or to defend other players with different visions than your own. Its just empty text from some one that has nothing to provide........

    BTW I have played more MMOs than you have age,  American, Korean, Europian you chose the flavor... With all kinds of monetization types and game play. I saw them raise and decline. 

     

    And nothing I do speak here is with no previous study I could provide lots of links foruns / blogs / magazines / youtube about other games, economics and viability, but simply here is not a place to talk about other games.

    I can just say that luckily this game don't depends on you to become great .....

    costs per region  = I hope i will become truth, will make the game fair, but VERY FEW companies understand or apply it

     

    no offence but you completley disregard inflation --  believe or not I know a lot about inflation and economics ,

    but inside a game things not behave exactly like RL, Its easy to see game items became priced by real money than an Item purchase by real money losing value its value in game money.

    Here is an EX:

    That Super Power weapon / ship  "today" would cost  1000 game credts. This is the same starting price for 1 month PLEX that is purchased for 15£ RL money.
    6 months Later Lots of rich players start to sell plex inside game... The plex price lowed from 1k to 900 gold, 
    But the Powerful weapon / ship became 900.000 because now its priced in Plex, or in Real money so to speak, and since the Plex considering market is full of Plex availability its purchase power lows but not its game credit value simply because ppl who pays real money don't want to low and all agree that it costs around 1k so it will never become 100 credit. 

    And guys I'm not inventing this, I already saw more than a few games following this tendance, like  (This TOP sword costs 10.000.000 Gold or 300$ RL money)
    and I am not telling the PLEX system doesn't work,
    But it need to be regulated!
    Maybe if a player Could sell just one, in game per month, than it would prevent a rich guys to umbalance the game market and turn it P2W !!!

    OK now i have one question for you guys.. WHAT IS PAY TO WIN IN YOUR CONCEPT ???

    Because, the well know popular concept is:
    " If you can inject real money inside a game to achieve game advantages, Like become billionaire, oh thats a P2W game !!!"

     

    Why 90% of player hate it ?  Because they came to play a game where they can be respect for their strategy / skill / intelligence / game play,   not to be overpowered for rich guys like in real life.

     

    But now, if you guys agree with pay real money for game advantages, its ok, just be honest and say : "I agree with SOME level of P2W inside a game"

    I will not be blaming you

     

    A veteran player could invest money to speed up his gameplay (as I do - I hate pve grinding). So what? What do you think will happen when I just bling out my ships or buy super-uber-extreme-mega weapons? I die horribly. Why? Because it's a MMO

     

    Sadly its not the truth, let me tell a story, Once i was with my guild on a international server, the main guilds was Russ, Spanish, Greek and Brazilian,
    we fight hard for domination and glory, was balanced and fun for us and our enemies, but once a guy arrived, a 12yo son of a politician lawyer's in RL, with his friends, cool !?  he purchased ALL top characters and Items paying from 500 to 3k $ he brought lots of sellable items to the market and raise the price of everything

    His guild start to random attack everybody and were almost unkillable when all the about 30 guys fully ekiped were online.

    Now lets see if you still think

    What do you think will happen when I just bling out my ships or buy super-uber-extreme-mega weapons?

    when some richie kid decide that your company will not fly a single ship out of the safe zone ?! You kill them, they will buy they fleet in 1 day, and you will farm / built per weeks to get your ship back again ...

    ONCE MORE !!!

     

    Hey new guys PLZ read my previous post about WHY, P2P is SAME as  P2Win !!! when you compare Rich player with poor players,
    Different player family realities and currency exchange on different countries.

    I'm not saying that game should run as F2P, B2P, Cry4Play,  etc....   What I'm just asking is to try understand in deep what's going on in all player situations before say  "I'm ok on paying subscription so all other potential players should be ok with it to!"    Everything that is OK for other ppl is ok for you to ?

    Just try to think that this is an international game that intent to have a server with thousand of players from all corners of the Earth ( O ?)

    With Players that live very different real lives, so before say P2P is the best or B2P is the best, or F2P is the best. 

    Understand that "The best" would be a Mix of those all ! and a Very well done administration of the game business.

    I already saw great game servers Die because of bad administration and very P2W games achieve thousand of players that happly spend tones of money on garbage games and companies get rich just because they have a great management.

    Also i'm sad to say for those (already existent) DU fanboys, This is not the best game in the world, this is not even a game yet, Its a few guys dream with a great potential, but with a lot of concurrence to, especially if they decide to keep as P2P, because P2P players rarely play more than one game at once, 

    and just look around for other upcoming games and you will see that DU will have to face great rivals.

     

    Btw, Guys, use your brains not your harts, give the Devs ideas of how to make this game as great as it could be,
    not just say "nice game i can play 15 bucks for that"

    I think this will be my last post, on monetization topics.

    I love the idea that players can create everything, but how far will our craft API will go ?

    and also players "can" not exclude the dev team the duty. The developers must deliver a game that's not only technological advanced with seamless world, but content rich and alive. See No Man's Sky ? its beautiful, but borrrriiiinnnng  because you have an endless universe with nothing to do!

     

    I sadly say that

    If there is no PVE content at all this will become a poor game, an MMO is all about make friends, team up, and exploration. Join this to a great market and competitive PVP is what makes a game that you want to stay in as much as you can.

     

    and PVE is responsible to kep a lot of players on a MMO and stimulate players to team up and socialize, difficult and timed big bosses battles,

    (Plz don't ever do raids like wow, their veryyy boring after some times)

    hard to access areas, rare mats droped only on a spot controlled by an hostile race. 

    Or this race can be like star ship troopers Bugs, that attack your planet for its resources,

    There is a lot of possibilities available that are lore friendly and plausive to make a rich PVE content.

     

     

    but..

    If they the objective of Novaquark is to delivery a lot of players on a "Battle Roiale"  arena shaped like a galaxy with no other objective them survive and kill all others, DU will become an space PVP arena and will fail as MMO game.

     

    This game have the potential to be the best game of next years and have more than 10k player on 24/7 on its server,

  9. Speaking about science fiction, we have read and watch many monster stories, about how an unknown evil comes from space to wipe our race.

     

     

    And since the game is a Survival MMO, i think Novaquark has spoken to few about the PVE content 

     

    Will planets have monsters to fight ?
    Intelligent Alien races (again) to fight with ? 

    I love to make friends and hunt for bosses and power full mob spawns, any one here like PVE content ?
    Powerful PVE enforces player interaction and friendship, where a only PVP game only enforces aggression 

     

    One of the great 'events' of a MMO is to fight big bosses, like on Lineage2 where the main PVP/PVE bosses spawns only once a month, and all alliances must PVP to get the chance to kill that boss and guarantee the rare items to their faction. 

    Also DU can have some Bosses that spawn on PVP zones, easy to take where you can kill with your friends and probably fight some other few players during the boss fight.

  10. There isn't clear by now how will work the "Faction safe towers" 
    but besides the factions i concern about solo players that hate PVP but love sandboxing, 
    that kind of solitaire ppl that don't join faction, and prefer to play alone in peace.

     

    I'm most solo player myself, but I Like PVP and can tolerate mining on pvp zones taking my chances,
    since i can have a safe house where i cans store all my resources,

     

    But I don't like the idea that my inventory will be droped and I can lose my endgame tools and ekips for a party of Nub jerks, also this system of drop inventory will create a "culture of aggression" where lazy players instead of mining/craft will start to "farm players" considering there will be no punishment mechanic for the PK.

     

    I like games where you can find some one in the wilds and speak with him, not needing to rage at him as a kill or be killed game.

    Yes Novaquark, could offer this service, where a player could rent and run a private server, what is provided and managed for Novaquark, ruining on their cloud hardware. Maybe this is a viable idea, but later on, probably after the 3rd year after official launch, after all bugs were solved, game were well tested and other business variables were taken in count.

    Besides some player defend the P2P method, like its their favorite soccer team, (Like Mr. Twerkmotor), they can only look to themselves as player,

    I'm not an economist, or an expert, but I'm a business graduated and had study the MMO market since Ultima Online and still work very close to games industry now days. My article is a MMO market based study of case,

    I hope you guys can have a look specially at P2P part of my article where i demonstrate why subscription is and obsolete method and because Real World Money and currencies are not balanced

    The (P2P) Methode unbalance the game, its not lore friend and break the immersion,

    with a risk to become P2W if any kind of item (like a Plex) can be purchased with Real money and sold for game money inside the game

     

    Just as example: if the subscription is based on $15 USD a player today would pay (and think):

     

    UK (British) player .....:   $ 13.25 EUR  (Ah that's OK,  not real expensive I like the game and I can afford for it)

    CA (Canadian) ...........:  $ 37.48 CAD  (Well if its just I playing its OK, sadly i think it will become hard to pay 2 subs, for me and my son)
    BR (Brazilian)Player....:  $ 48.22 BRL  (PQP its half hundred! I love the game but Idk if i can maintain and so idk if worth to join this game)

    SA (South African)......:  $ 202.54 ZAR (OMG ! i love game but impossible to pay monthly, even I can afford to buy items some times)

     

    P2P is a huge pay-wall for families with more than one player, teens that need parents to pay, low budget college students, etc ...

  12. Well I still believe that in the future other races can and should be implemented, 
     
    Because  human colones can, and probably will, make contact and commerce with a lot of other races of the galaxy, 
    and after that some races should be include as playable race even if it is a humanoid race with same physics
    (like Klingon and Vulcan)
     
    About Furrys, many ppl love (including myself) cute races with tails and ears, and NO it doesn't mean to include anime like characters.
    If you like Star Trek you probably remember of "Lieutenant M'Ress" and some other "Caitian" characters.

  13. Interesting you compare with SL, i never remember to take that game in count, since is boring wait the wall paint to dry,

     

    but for sure has some nice sandbox and script content.

     

    at my readings on dev blog and posts i hope DU came way better than SL btw, specially the scripting part.

     

    I also home they make a lot of machines to industrialize our facility's like we do in Minecraft
