I am only getting an Error for the Wine/ Port Proton /Lutris Install on Linux. I am not a Native Linux user, yet a, comftorable working in it as far as commands and such,... I was going to a sk if anyone had help for the Microsoft WebView2 'error' for installing,....

Hey there! I ran into a similar issue when I tried installing Microsoft WebView2 on my Zorin Linux setup. Updating Wine, Proton, and Lutris to their latest versions helped me get past some of those errors. Also, make sure your system's up to date. I found that checking forums for similar problems often leads to some useful workarounds or patches.

So.... anything new on this?

I would love if they just added the My.DU install to steam, as the version (demo and paid game) on steam install and run fine on my Mint install.. I don't know why they need this MS WebView shit to run the launcher... but the My.Du installer always dies at the point where it tries to install.

Given there is a whole PDF file for a linux install of the server, which is fantastic... unsure why there is not better Linux support for installing the My.DU version on linux??

It would be nice but they've clearly stated they do not want to put myDU on steam.  I suspect they don't want to split the money nor support Linux.

Nothing new but you two. I think too it would run right away from Steam as 90% of my other games doas well under Steam's use of Proton. As far as getting it to work , just what I had written before.

I Use Zorin as well. 17.1 I'm dual booting trying to learn Linux. Alot from boredom, yet also because a few months ago and the Update Flubble. Anyways do you know the main way you setup Lutris or Proton to work it,... ? Like which versions ect,... I know we prolly have diffrent hardware, but mines pretty modern and I read it was something like trying to load some NET 1.4.2 file, or some other,... but I never could get it done I think,...

For Lutris or Proton, make sure you're on the latest versions, and check their compatibility lists for any tips specific to Zorin. If you’re dual booting, it might be worth trying the Windows version directly to see if it runs smoother.

I used Lutris to install the launcher. I had to fudge the settings a bit to get the installer to finish with webview2, in Lutris's game configuration under runner options I had to switch the wine version to one that worked. I have a few versions of proton and a couple of different wine versions in there but I don't remember which one worked for me.  My problem now is all I get is a blank launcher screen. Anyone have any ideas?

Just dropping by to say that I'm playing on Linux (Mint).

The trick is to install the game on Windows first, then copy the installation to a Wine prefix (which I created using WineGUI) with the necessary dependencies installed (WebView2, Edge, .NET 4.7.8).

Link that prefix in Lutris by adding an "empty" game entry. Then copy and paste the folders from the Windows installation (after launching the game once, logging in, and exiting on Windows) into the Wine prefix.

The launcher doesn’t work under Linux, so you have to launch the game directly via the executable Dual.exe in /drive_c/ProgramData/My Dual Universe/Game/Bin

When an update is released, you’ll need to run the launcher on Windows to update the game, then copy and paste the updated files into the Linux game folder inside the prefix.

TY. I would have never thought to bring over the files from a windows install. I'll definitely try tonight and post if it works for me as well,...
