Disconnected while over water, Speeder stuck on top of water me not so much

How do i recover my speeder and or get out from under a lake? How do I learn to swim when movement design  under water is same as above water...........?  Seems like a  game breaking lack of basic functionality or is there help on the way?

Try using build mode off of your speeder and fly on top of it.

You can fetch your speeder if it’s within 4km using the F4 map and selecting constructs menu. You can only fetch once every 24 hours.
