Copy game from PC to PC

Hi there

 

We are about 4 in this house that want to play DU, but the downside is that we have a single metered connection of 20gb per month.

The guy who got us all into DU to want to play downloaded it, and copied the folder to us, but if we launch dual-launcher.exe, it deletes entire 14gb Game folder and redownload from scratch

Why?

 

We cannot all download DU, out of bundle data is 14 US dollar per GB. How can I copy this game from my friend?

This is not a NQ supported answer:

You should install the game. And when the launcher starts downloading, you kill the process. 

Then copy the directory in program files and launch back the launcher.

Thank you for your response. I have done so, and the results are the same.

Upon launching launcher, Game folder is deleted, and download resumes where it left off. [Eg. 4/6087 MB]

 

It creates a Temp folder, with a long-named ZIP file inside, called Game-[Long Hex Code].zip

I have also copied all the Game folder files from my friend into this zip file. And when opening launcher, thought I had success. It was 'checking file integrity'!

But at 65%, the launcher closed with no error. And Temp folder was gone. Dual Universe folder was down to 15.7mb again. Frustrating.

 

I will keep trying.
