JIGGLE_CHI3F
So I need a new computer to be able to run DU. I was wondering if anyone had a good general idea as of how much gb of RAM I would need for my computer. I'm looking to buy one with 16gb of RAM, but if I can I'll get one with just 8gb. Haunty
I would get 16, or at least plan on upgrading to 16 later. On some games I do have more than 8GB in use.
FD3242
8GB is perfect for games right now. The gpu and the cpu are much more important then ram. I mean a lot of games will still run on 6 so I would recommend you spend that extra 30-40 dollars you where going to spend on ram to get a better gpu. 40 dollars is the difference between a gtx 1050 ti and a gtx 1060. Nobinis
mm told me 8GB or more is required. Nyzalter told him.
rmhenn
I suggest 16gb due to the fact that you probably will be running other applications as well as dual universe at the same time.

Even when running multiple applications 8gb would be enough. And spending that extra money on a gpu would give a much higher boost in gaming performance. Guest
If you plan to use this computer later, then definitely get 16gb. You might also want to invest in graphics card, that can help the game run better and look better.
Volkier
Ram is cheap. You can also always upgrade it. I would say that 8Gb is starting to become a stretch with modern games, depending on what you run in the background, but 16Gb is way more than plenty for the time being, and probably in a few years to come when it comes to gaming. If you do graphics design or video editing or whatnot, then yeah, more ram would definitely help, but for pure gaming, 16Gb is a good point. That said, I'm likely going to get 16Gb more to make 32Gb total, just because I want to experiment with installing software onto RAM for the sexy load times
