  1. TL/DR: we need some manner of minimum-voxel-budget for ships so that pvp players (and soon everyoneelse) stop flying around disjointed element-only bundles. The up-coming Athena patch will quite handily destroy the nano-M/L-core meta with the speed cap. Unfortunately it will also provide players even more encouragement than they already have to have no voxel at all on their ships in order to keep them as light as possible for speed-cap reasons. As such I would propose the introduction of a minimum voxel/decoration budget, where by an amount of voxel below a certain threshold (based on core size) does not increase a ship's weight, CCS, or cross-section, as this would encourage players to have an actual decorative hull on their ships without substantially altering the game's balance. Any thoughts?

    CORES

Hello all. I am writing this thread to see if we can have the Devs change some core(s) mechanics within the game. We know that there are 4 different cores and that each core is doubled as we move from XS to L (512^3, 256^3, 128^3, 64^3 L M S XS). As a builder, I would like to see the ability to change the core shape without intruding on the order of the cores. Let me explain this. The smallest core (XS) is 64x64x64 but due to it being a cube, it has a downside. The downside is the building potential within that cube. If we were allowed to change the core to let say 64h 84l and 44w we would open up the ability to use and shape the way we please. The small core will no longer be useless for refining and other actions. Furthermore, it will allow builders build around it so it is pleasant to the eye. It should be noted that I understand that this may break voxelmancy but I am sure someone can figure this out. Please leave your thoughts and any other ideas reference the core that I may have missed.
  3. In the beginning, there were functional elements that make constructs fulfill their various functions. But what about purely decorative elements? I am not talking about player made elements that were previously alluded to (like a pretty staircase etc) I mean naturally occurring elements such as plants, flowers, small trees and shrubberies. Things that occur naturally on planets that could be placed in a construct to make it look... pretty. And while we are on elements that players cannot create, how about a water spray element so that players can create fountains How about electronic displays, flags, and pennants flying your orgs (static) logo? Lets set aside the technical difficulties and whether NQ has the time to implement any of these for now. What other decorative elements would you like to see in the game?
