  1. "If I had to take hell, I would use the Australians to take it and the New Zealanders to hold it." ~ Erwin Rommel. The oldest Australiasian group in the game, the Anzaki are a casual social (for now - strange things can happen once you get a bunch of us in a room...) group for finding other Aussies and Kiwi players. The Anzaki is a cultural organisation for Australian and New Zealand players, or for those rare players with characters from an Australian / New Zealand background that the AU/NZ player base adopts as a blow in. In the Dual Universe setting, the Anzaki are the heterogeneous (that's multi-cultural) descendents of Australian and New Zealand military forces who were genetically altered to become effectively fearless super soldiers after the fall of those two countries to passive invaders. There is in game background if you like to RP, but really it's about giving a non-org/non-political place for Australian, Kiwi and ANZ fanz (or RP character types) to hang out, find temporary groups, some recruitment and all that. (There will be an in-game pub as well.) It doesn't matter if you're in another group or not - this is like automatic membership at your local RSL. Just apply in game (search the [anza] tag) , let us know roughly where you are from etc, and it's that simple - you'll be added to the group. The only rule - don't be a s#$%c^%t. 2. Hi guys, Just wondering if there is any information about Australian servers coming to the game as i know from experience that playing with high lag just doesn't make for a fun in game experience. Knowing what i hope this game will become i cant imagine playing and enjoying myself with high lag. Anyways in advance thanks for the help. P.S. are there many Australians looking into playing duel universe, just wondering.
  3. EXCALIBUR Mission Statement Excalibur is a hard-core organization focused the creation and marketing of high performance weapons, vehicles and space crafts. We aim to create the most advance, elastically pleasing and versatile constructions for every situation. These will be sold as patterns on to private entities or on the free market. The profits will be used to pay for in-game subscription. Structure The organization is divided into three main departments; Programming and Integration, Design and Construction and finally Research and Development. When entering you will need to choose one of the departments to join. Depending on the department head, you might need to complete a practical test to be granted entry into a department. If you distinguish yourself you might be offered the opportunity to become an Administrator or a Director. To become the head of a department you will need to be voted in or appointed. Heads of departments distribute earnings as well set objectives/tasks for their departments. For more information see the below: Programming and Integration This branch focuses on creating scripts and smart systems. We set ourselves apart by not only creating powerful and elegant designs, but by also integrating awesome functionality into it, giving our products an edge in combat. Entry requirements for this branch involves a small programming test in the language of your choice. Design and Construction For those that love to build beautiful creations this department is for you. You will define the look, feel, practicality and durability of all our products. Your work will tell the universe who Excalibur is. Are you ready to bare open your mind and heart into your designs? Are you ready for the fame of having your product sold across the universe? [No entry requirements yet] Research and Development Your role will be to test, develop and come up with new and crazy ideas. Ultimately the success of Excalibur will be places in you outsmarting everyone else. This branch is definitely not for everyone - only the smartest, most original, inventive somewhat bonkers will join research and development. You will be expected to perform, coming with new and interesting ideas for given problems - and have fun blowing things up along the way. [No entry requirements yet] Requirements Due to the hard-code nature of this organization there will be a few requirements ~ Must be 17+ ~ ~ Must Invest at least 2 hours a week into organization activities ~ ~ Must be willing to work towards an assigned goal. These differ from department to department ~ Click to join our discord below: DISCORD
  4. Good day to all Duel Universe Community members! First off I am very excited for this game, and I cant wait to see where the Community can take it. However that being said I have a few questions in regards to where the Dev's plan to take DU... Water I should start on the note, that I am a huge fan of Stargate, (Atlantis, SG-1, and Universe) and in Stargate Atlantis an entire city sized ship is built. I have no doubt in my mind that building it will be possible in Du, if not a little bit difficult, however Atlantis rested on the surface of the ocean. This is just one example I can think of, but I would someday hope to be able to build a city on, or under the water. But I cannot find any information regarding to what the water will look like in game, how it will behave, and how will the oceans be formed on a planet through procedural generation? Will players and vessels be able to enter water, be able to have floating structures built upon the surface? How deep will water be? Will water be able to limit the impact an energy weapon has on a structure completely submerged (Like in Stargate Atlantis, The Wraith would open fire from space and the shots would partially dissipate in the water as Atlantis was submerged, etc.) If it is possible to build underwater, will you be able to drain areas of water and perhaps build habitats on the ocean floor? (Thinking of Bioshock here...) (My interest in water in this topic is not purely based off of other games, or Sci-fi shows, but more or less as I have designed a real life model of an underwater city and the difficulties in sustaining life in an enclosed environment underwater.) Pledges and Connectivity Moving on to pledges. I am currently at a Gold Level Pledge, not so much for the rewards, but because of my interest and love for what this game could become! It already looks amazing! And the only thing stopping me from backing this game further is the fact that I live in Australia, and I am worried about how well connectivity to a European server will be. So once we have had a chance to try out the Alpha (Gold pledge and upwards I believe?), will we still be able to further upgrade our pledges? I ask because if I find the game to work with minimal connectivity issues and limited server lag etc, I would very much like to be able to pledge more to the development of the game. Furthering on this topic even more, I am currently a test guinea pig for my friends and I. If I find that the connectivity is working well enough, I could easily bring 5 or more people to this game! Which in my opinion would be awesome for me and for the community! Painting Elements So my last topic of interest that I have on my mind is in regards to the painting and how it will tie into the elements system. So as we have all seen in the videos, various voxels are painted and can be changed colour. So how about Elements? If I place down a Control Unit, or an Engine, or even a Decorative element like a wing, will I be able to use the same painting system to change the Elements colour? Quite a simple question I believe. Anyway, Thank you for reading my mess of words and poor punctuation, and I hope to see you all in the Universe! - Sullos of the Sullosian Empire
