Its way to early to say anything about requirements, some stuff in the game might radicly change before the alpha so we really cant say how demanding the game will be.

A dictatorship can be good for the country if the leader is rational and not egocentric, those people dont become dictators tho

Planets shouldnt regenerate, it would make the unvierse fell less alive. Also some people mentioned that abandoned mining planets would make freat shady hideouts and i agree *points at signature*
The Players should be able to MAJORLY influence the game world to nearly any extend and regeneration mechanics would work against that. -
Without reading the other replies: Mount and Blade style combat, fists and everything above from sticks to super ultra mega power swords

I've always wondered... will there be mechs?
Mechs SHOULD be possible with the currently planned buidling tools and there are no plans or current features that would block this.
It is NOT known how advance or IF mech designs are possible though

I can see the game being blocked by GEMA (the German Royalty Collecting Company), they have already struck youtube and we are not able to watch certain music videos or watch certain videos with certain music in it. (Of course there's a way to circumvent that, but that's not the topic)
They cant, they only recently started blocking livestreams and, if the novaquark teams makes it correct, they cant sue or even touch the game/team for something the users do

I myself will most likely try to add triggers for explosives on critical parts, that means if the voxel covering it is removed, as long as thats possible.
Sell that to your enemies with it triggering when the ships starts flying

AH yes i forgot that EVE has only 1000 players... DU will have economy and eveyrthing you mentioned... WITH PVP stop saying that its unnecessary and shouldnt be in the game (not talking to you @Kirtis)
And i NEVER mentioned only PVP, ffs READ dont assume. I said that disabling PVP would limit the playerbase because PVP is ESSENTIAL for this kind of game

I will be a builder/coder in game. And I intend to protect my creations. If people decide to copy my work and sell it to others, I will be willing to pay large sums to any mercenary who can prove they have terminated said copycat and destroyed everything they've built.
Ruthless? Yes. But it should be a sufficient deterrent.
I would happily do that job.
I think that a system where tag creation, simiriality of designs and players protecting their own designs themselves would probably do the trick

Why does nobody like my playstyle
Open World PVP is necessary for a Space MMO,
tell me what is the first thing you think of when you hear Sci-FI or Space? Usually its Star Wars or Star Trek
And of what do you think then? The freaking awesome space battles. Sci-Fi games and combat are deeply connected and leaving open PVP out would do more harm than good (for the game)

Thank you all for your welcome and the more or less open challenges from some of you.
This challenges were enough to trigger my ambitions and i'm currently working hard on my faction to face this "threats".
Edit 1: And once again, I have to remember that I'm totally insane. Currently i'm working on an organization chart for a mature nation, including ministers, departments, military structure, legislative, judicial, executive and many more. I've already said that I am mad?
Edit 2: should someone have name suggestions for my faction please let me know, at the moment is my brain just too full with the entire organizational stuff and in general the names i choose tend to be slightly shitty. ^^
For a Faction name just take the are where you want to be and take the initials, for me it was outer Belt, simply put what you are (Empire of/Alliance) and you get, in my case, Unified Systems of the outer Belt

I recently found out about this game and I must say it is more or less exactly what I have always wanted! There are however some questions I am wondering about. I have been lurking a bit on the forums, and I am currently trying to read the devlogs.
1. How large ships, stations, buildings and structures is it possible to make?
2. Will it be possible to couple and decouple different parts of ships? Example: Lucrehulk Coreship attaching to the half ring in orbit. Or a jedi starfighter attaching and decoupling to a hyperdrive ring.
3. By using AI and self made AI scripts, or any other ways, can you be able to make your own civilization without the need of other players?
4. Will there be AI civilizations?
5. Will there be newtonian laws in the game? Example: Planets in orbit, day/night cycle etc.
Not as important questions:
6. Will there be underwater stuff, like swimming, submarines, underwater buildings etc?
7. Will there be animals in the game?
8. Is planet destructions possible?
9. If newtonian laws are a thing, is it possible to change the orbit of planets/moons?
10. Will the AI you create look like Humans or will it only be like AI systems onboard etc?
11. Will AI spawn if a city is created?
So many questions, but these are those that I could come up with right now.

Basiclly as large as you want, but the devs are aiming for automatic blancing, meaning that the larger a ship gets the slower it is needing more reactors/thrusters making ships just scale in cost making large constructs virtualy impossible because of the high production cost.

Carriers have been confirmed but we have no details on how they will work

You can automate prodcution and ship flying but it has been confirmed that completly automatic civilization will be impossible because of limitations

We have no information if Ai Civs will be in the game, probably no though

The game is confirmed to have newtonian mechanics but we have no information to which extend

Water/liquids and Underwater building have been confirmed

I cant remeber but i think that animals have been confirmed DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT

Planets can be completly deformed (they are made out of voxels see space engineers) but we have no informations on complete destruction

No information but it is certainly a NO because applying the math for that to a MMO is impossible and so unecessary that we can certainly say that it wont be possible

I (!!) have no information on that, i think there where npc mentioned on the fourms but i have no information

IF we can create NPC you can create them yourself but the game aims for player interaction meaning that self spawning NPCS are probably a no

I will probably try to be a rather irational syndicate/pirate company leader establishing a iron rule over my space and spreading through and infiltratingother empires trying to spread criminal activities (black markets, illegal fighting clubs) and making my money through piracy and then smugling the pirated goods to the black markets.
I think that the word peaceless describes me best
