  3. Not sure about the terminology of a "canon" to spew out the build personally. Terms that sound more like "construct" may be better. Materials are being assembled into usable items. The third part of the landing story did start to sound a bit Minecraft orientated eh ;-)
  4. Good to see the planet surface and environment after all these years... I will never get tired of seeing two stars of different hues in the sky. Why is everyone wondering round the ship in a dazed state and hardly talking? My attempts at nodding at folks are not met with a response. I see the positive side of humanity too and look around for cooperation... but you know there is always someone out to spoil things... someone or something.. from Earth of whatever is on this planet already. I wonder if they will understand "we come in peace" especially if they know the history of our colonization efforts in previous millenia!
  5. This feature is what is most appealing about the dual universe design to me.. all in one world... not "instances" as in some RPGs. Great stuff.
  6. Please don't forget the role of the explorer alone or in a small team in a small ship perhaps with a small crew (including robots or NPCs)... think Millenium Falcon! Not everyone wants to build a mega corporation, own a planet, star system, empire or a death star... :-)
  7. By voxels here, are we talking about the specific primitive shapes listed or composing all item of little cubes in a lego/minecraft style. Some images would help to show what is planned and their likely resolution and "smoothness".
  8. Voxels... do they really work.. I hope so.. but it seems to me they need millions or billions to look good. Lego world and avatar will not be good eh? Maybe a thread on this exists somewhere I will look... but seeing some image would help.
  9. I am very much into Second Life and OpenSim and run an OpenSim grid and manage several Second Life educational regions. But I occasionally pop in to some of the role play areas in Second Life... think Pandora and the Na'vi people. I have tried Project Entropia a bit... but the boring mining and slow game play is not of interest.. though some folks taking me off world in their expensive ships was more like it. On a recent degree course I also tried World of Warcraft for the first time.. again the linear play involving simplistic challenges and quests and moving back and forth over the same ground as boring. But travel by griffon, dwarf underground trains, and long distance ships again was more like it. I do a bit of 3D modelling especially for sciece fiction related craft... Gerry Anderson Supercar and Fireball X!5 especially... which may date me. And have repurposed these models in Flight Simulators, Orbiter and Celestia space simulators, Second Life, OpenSim, and in upcoming virtual worlds like High Fidelity.
  10. All good, I must predate you a bit having has a PS1 as well as PS2 and PS3 but now prefer PC to moving on to PS4. I am a Gran Turismo fanatic on PS*... spending a bit too long on that according to my partner :-) But, hey, you just HAVE to have 1966 Gulf colours Ford GT40 eh?
  11. Hi everyone, looking forward to adventures and experiences in the dual universe. I like to try things, and especially at an early stage of development while ideas can still be input and change things. I use a range of simulation "games" and environments in my entertainment and professional worlds. SciFi and space themed worlds are of particular interest. And even more interesting the more open they are. I tend to like open ended exploration rather than battle and prefer cooperation rather than conflict. I am or have been alpha and beta tester in a range of environments some still not publicly available. I like very realistic rendering, and hope we don't get low quality lego style worlds. Peace and love in the (dual) universe to all :-)
