  1. Hey folks! I brought this up with the community folks in beta but it appears that things never got moved up the food chain. Anyway. we have a problem with the mass of elements, and it looks a little something like this: A square light XS has a mass of... 70kg. That is three times the weight of the boiler that's currently idle, but will provide your central heating. And it's about the size of a human hand. Meanwhile, the Long Light L, something twice as wide and sixteen times as long, weighs in at a very similar 79KG. I think all elements could do with a look at their mass, as it's not just lights - the Window L comes in at 379KG (about ten times the weight of a real window of similar size), while the Hatch S clicks in at a smidge over 98KG.
  2. In the 80's, people would hit their televisions when they went on the fritz. Then they acted surprised when the TV broke. Please, NQ, try a little harder, eh?
  3. Thank you for your holier-than-thou review of my post. My favourite parts were: "...frankly a cheap shot..." Ignorance of subjective language "...an attempt at firefighting..." If you would like to put words (or anything else) in my mouth in future, please let me know 48 hours in advance. I'm a dinner and flowers kinda guy.
  4. Aight, I'm gonna start off by saing that Pann and I are TIGHT! We're besties. She comes into my stream and we talk about boys and hairstyles, and sometimes she even replies in one word answers. I gotta friendzone her though because I'm married. Anyway: We were discussing the video on-stream and my band of brainy chums and I came up with three conclusions that could be used to improve videos like this. They are as follows: 1) Show, don't tell. I know certain things weren't ready for the video, but showing interfaces for mining units, etc... would help with putting across information to the players. 2) Language used. Saying something is 'expensive' makes people think of money (something I've seen in previous replies). If developers mean expensive in development terms (uses a lot of server-based resources to calculate and feed back to a player) then this could be clarified. The vid is pretty much developers talking development language. This hurts my primitive streamer-brain. 3) Players are all about ME ME ME! While it is indeed important to tell us WHY changes are being implemented, it is equally important to emphasise and summarise (again, with bullet points) how this will effect HOW people play the game (or as I call it, changes the value of the product and how much time a player is willing to devote to it because of now having to do XYZ). Basically, an explain-like-I'm-five-with-pretty-pictures approach would really help and potentially cut down on speculation. And remember: NQPann: Forums. Peace.
