  1. they said they want to make DU realistic so gravity should be a factor to be considered.
  2. do different planets have different gravity? because humans can only survive on planets with 0.8 - 1.2 G. or do the suits that players wear even it out artificially?

    Why not using an open "engine" like opengl for your game? That way you have way better and broader options creating the game how you want without being limited to the constrains of a pre-existing engine? Also your website doesnt work on mobile. U cant reach other directories.

So i thought i would open a thread opening the gates for new members. as of right now we are 2 people. we have not yet decided on a name but plan to once we have more members. we will craft a flag based on the name once we have it. we would vote for it with our new members. if you are interested in joining our soon-to-be empire, shoot me a message. we aim to colonize a planet and build fortresses and other installations on it. we aim to become the biggest or one of the biggest empires in the game. hop on board if you want to participate in our quest to colonizing and conquering the stars. all names of the empire's locations are up for discussion and will be voted on. but our homeworld will be called Titania I am part of the first wave alpha teamers so i will get a bit of experience and a head-start from others. shoot me a message if you want to meet up with me ingame. We are looking for builders/miners, crafters and military personal eg. soldiers/marines for spaceships. TS will be available soon.

How do you intend to go about the colonization process in DU? how can there be enaugh players to increase your empire in size and have all the worlds inhabitated by players? if an empire has 100 players, it can merely fill out the capitol of the empire on the homeworld. all other "cities" would be ghost towns. are you planning to include NPCs? also how will the server structure work? will all servers be located in europe? if so that would be a lag issue for american players. and also: unrelated but still important; if you can program machines via LUA, can you create self-replicating machines and build-bots?

  9. @Nyzaltar firstup in the backstory tab there is a part that says "swallow an entire planet system" it would be if correct "an entire planetary system" right after that you should put "United Nations" with an s. then you should remove the dash off "waking-up" and also write "hammered itself INTO the ground" So there will be only ?First Person? view available in Dual Universe? you should put "thus it is absolutely neccessary to have" Will you develop Apps for the game? Will you allow players to make their own Apps? you should write "but we will keep the accessibility regarding potential apps in mind." Who are you? you wrote "developping" and still says you are 20 people, too. (you are 16 now right? or is it the other way round?) What about those who like to produce and trade, but have no interest in PvP? you have to write "it will quickly become obvious" and not "it will become quickly obvious" There are also people who want to build things, beautiful buildings and ships, without being interrupted by sudden PvP action? you should remove the first questionmark. it doesnt sound good.   10. the beginning was the same like yours, i googled space MMO and found a compilation which included this one. then i checked this website out and found it to be appealing due to the fact that it has a voxel based build engine and beautiful graphics both at once. then i read they aim for maximum player freedom, and i thought this must be the game i waited for. then i read it will be oculus compatible and that sealed the deal for me. i am a former player of SoH so thats why i like the aspects of this game.
  11. sh... looks awesome! however i want to add that alien worlds have alien fauna aswell. maybe novaquark should add whole new fauna to their procedually-generator to make it a bit more realistic of you get my drift haha
  12. i've found some errors on the website. as example there are some typing errors in the FAQ and dev blog, but what is more important is that at every tab on the site, you can scroll down and you will see the same text multiple times. PS; where is the pro-gen forest that astrophil mentioned in his "video?" thread? i was unable to find it on twitter. PPS; the music maxime ferrieu makes is really beautiful! keep it up! edit: the repeating descriptions bug seems to be fixed now.

  14. I dont know why everyone immediately attacks me when i appear somewhere. Maybe its my name? my idea of the game was that each EMPIRE gets its own planet. Not each new player. Maybe i should delete my forum account again and forget about the game seeing as the people here seem very mean to me. Goodbye i guess.
  15. I read the devblogs and they say that there will be 2 kinds of travel between stars. Warp gates and FTL travel. Just that ftl travel will be tricky. I dont know what made you believe the opposite?

Maybe novaquark should extrapolate on how they imagine this to be In reality there are billions of empty planets in the galaxy my friend. I thought the storyline of the game was that many arkships were send to many different planets.
  17. Why? In shores of hazeron that system works. Each new player has the option to either join an existing empire or make an own empire. In the later case you would spawn at a empty world. And each world is 10000-20000 meters large.
  18. So do i get this right that new players wont get a new arkship on a new planet? How do you expect people to start out? Will they all start at the same planet and then go out into the open space and then find a new planet and make an empire there? In that case i have no problem at all with a single arkship at the starting area. I just thought that each new empire gets a new planet with a new arkship as per what i have read in your posted information. I am trying to understand how you plan to go about this game.
  19. So i am kinda on the fence about the arkship protection area I have though to myself: if the arkship protection area never shuts down, you can never defeat an empire. I have also read the post about the noob protection idea in mind. My idea would be to shut the shield down after a certain amount of time (because its energy reserves are depleted or something) So you are able to fully defeat an empire in a war situation. It would be a really stupid thing having to have your ships blockade the last remaining planet of an enemy empire all the time. The defeated player has two options at this point: he could accept the subjugation of his enemy or take a ship, find a new planet and make a new empire there (without the arkship protection of course)

  21. Hi, i am TheSlaxx. I am a huge fan of space strategy games and MMORPGs. I come from the game shores of hazeron in hopes dual universe will fulfill my dreams and offer everything i am looking for in a space game. I like to build empires and huge structures in space. I have brought with me a group of 5 people whom i invited to play dual universe with me and create my empire. I found DU around the time the new forum opened. I also brought some questions with me which i will post in the appropriate sections.
