  1. Have they confirmed that i thought it was just a rumor? And thanks!
  2. Hope not but probably. Might work on designs and building during the down time though.
  3. This is kinda similar to my idea except with 1 or 2 friends. maybe not the taxi service though.
  4. yeah hurricanes were my go to for just about everything. shield tank got it, armor tank got it, sniper got it, brawler got it. That and thrashers.
  5. Maybe ccp seem to be kinda lax about this kinda stuff. then again its been some time since i have played and kept up with eve (before the collapse of test)
  6. Yeah they used to be pretty op, i remember one time i was in a c3 taking on a site in one and got dropped on by a broadsword, domi, and something else and tanked the hell out of them til they had to warp out cuz the dps was to much from me and the sleepers. Good times back then.
  7. LMAO you should make a drake!
  8. I need to make you my best friend lol. Though I do have some basic coding knowledge I am no where close to good at it and will rely on others heavily for most of my coding needs.
  9. Not necessarily, you sir should take off the tin foil hat and stop looking for the worst in every situation.
  10. That is why i created this thread so we could maybe get a few ideas going, and maybe the devs could help out a bit. I know its really far off but thought it might be a good break from some of the hardcore game mechanic discussions going on. There kinda has to be some sort of unified payment method. Though a barter system would be really cool. Maybe a hybrid system where both currency and bartering could take place. And captain please stop with all the toxicity no one wants that here. If you wish to be a bitter vet elitist go back to EVE or COD. You seem to be the only one here that refuses to conduct yourself in a civilized manner. Thank you in advanced "Good Sir"
  11. Hmm interesting, I was expecting for most people to be combat focused but 8 out of 10 this should be interesting.
  12. Just like the title says, what do you plan on doing? Personally i love to expolore so probably something along those lines. I also enjoy making things though i am horribad at it.
  13. So is there a name for the in game currency as of yet? If not any ideas?
  14. I know there are gonna have a closed alpha, but I thought I heard somewhere they may have alpha access for early adopters. That and you know they are gonna let some youtubers in.
  15. Once the alpha hits and people can see that the game can deliver then you will see the hype train pull in and in a big way. I know I have 10 or 11 people that are just waiting for me to buy before they even consider buying.
  16. Unlocking through research time is one of them but it's not sure it will be the one being kept in the end. Here are the pros & cons: - easiest and fastest way to implement research. - safe process to prevent automatically that all the tech are unlocked from day 1 or even from week 1. - on the other hand, it's probably not the funniest way to play it. Dear god please no! It was kinda a cool concept when I first started playing eve but after years it got really really old fast. Among others solution, we have: - RNG mechanics but relying on luck for research can be very frustrating as well. The RNG gods hate me so please no lol - Grinding significant amount of specific resources (supposed to be used for experiments to make a technological breakthrough) but this might not appear fun either to many players. This might be cool if it is not massive amounts of items (just the amount of raw materials to make the item plus 10% or something like that) and mixed with another system such as a little trial and error - Through "trials & errors" experimentation might be a problem as Alpha & Beta testers will get a huge advantage compared to new comers (and the risk that having a frenzy of technology breakthrough in the first days following official release). Moreover, there will be already "trials & errors" to design LUA scripts and test spaceship "flyability". So it might be too much to put several layers of "trials & errors". It can be discouraging for many players. Again on its own not the best but mixed with another type might work - Civilization-wide unlock: when a certain amount of player characters have learn a specific skillset in the game, then a technological breakthrough happens and a new tech is unlocked. This idea is interesting but it generates some risks: "what if this number of player characters learning this skill is not reached? what if it takes 3x or 4x the time the dev team expected?" This one I'm kinda torn on, it takes away from the new user experience a little so maybe an optional thing but not sure how viable this would be ( I'm one of those guys that likes to figure things out for them selfs). As for the issue with taking too long make it population percentage base and maybe make the percent adjustable so if it is taking too long you can adjust it down or it to quick adjust it up
  17. Yeah nor did I til a friend told me, modded Minecraft is where it is at so i don't blame them at all. Those poor kids not knowing the power of mods, that my friend is the power of PC master race. you may be able to build a console with decent performance (its a long shot but it might happen one day) but you will never have the modding community that PC does
  18. ah bsg = battlestar galactica got it thanks oh people will build them, i just can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. i am the worst builder of all time so i am gonna depend on lol Though i am awesome at exploring!
  19. im partial to minmatar and I love my rifter and hurricane. but you are correct it will happen in that order except the bsg thing no idea what your talking about there.
  20. I really hope so just wish i could play it already!
  21. Thanks more then happy to have found it!
  22. This is very true many games have been ported to console (and ark isn't just laggy on console lol). Ark is one there is also 7 days to die, Minecraft and many many more. Even though i am strongly bias against console (really don't like them no idea why just don't) i agree these games do ok on it but I'm not sure if this will be one of them as for controller support for pc i know many people that prefer controller over keyboard and mouse so as long as there are enough people that want it and it is possible I'm sure it will happen. As for the "haters" just ignore them and they will get bored and leave.
  23. Actually, you could build a decent gaming PC for just as much as a console would cost. but that is not the scope of this forum. I may be wrong in this assumption but from the scope of the game, it would seem to be very difficult to give it controller support as a controller most likely will not have enough buttons. Not to mention the player base for console would most likely so minuscule that it just would not be worth the effort. I am sorry to say but most games that are PC exclusive are that way for a reason. I would suggest next time you have the money look into getting or building a gaming rig. you can probably get a decent one for around $500 USD which is cheaper then the xbox one s and can far out perform it. The graphics card may be ok but most games use much more then just GPU's. As with most voxel games this one will most likely need good ram and a decent cpu as well as gpu.
