I am looking for partners to help lay the foundation for a new civilization.

     I'm very new to this type of game.  I have played mmorpg games before, however, I have never really had an opportunity to get involved with larger aspects of them.  I am excited at this opportunity, but also fearful in so many ways at the prospects of failure and the many challenges that this game poses.  In the end, I just want to have fun, build things and make friends.

     I have created a few topics in the forum and from them learned a great deal about the game and the community.  During these past few days, as I have been engaged in discussions and arguments, I have come to hope there are people who can relate to where I am coming from.  Over and again, I was told that if I wanted an organization whos principles could share my own, I should create one, however, this again poses and even greater challenge.

     Now, the challenge posed to me was to create that organization.  First, I considered, why?  There are lots of orgs.  I have done some digging, which confirmed that there are many orgs, however, many are small and unlikely to compete with the "Elite" orgs that have risen to the top.  Second, I thought, what would be the point, how can I make a difference?  Although I have an idea I believe strongly in, there truly is no way that I feel I can, on my own, make a difference in DU through the creation of an org based on the ideas of democracy, equality, freedom, justice and security.  Plenty offer these in their own way, but how many org makers are willing to give an org, which they have created, to the citizens and people?  I do not know.

     Then, I thought, it could be possible, if a partnership of people who could share and shape this vision joined together in the creation of an org unique to what we have ever seen in a game.  On org created for the players, with open and free citizenship, who's power arises from inspiration.  A place where every voice is equal, a place where leaders are chosen by the people, not the administrator.  A place where justice would focus on life, liberty and property.  Where security and freedom mean a balance for peace and liberty for all players, where everyone can be a citizen, where anyone can belong.

     Finally, I thought, maybe there is someone out there, who shares in this vision and ambition to transform DU for the betterment of all.  So I am asking for partners, who will shape their hopes and dreams to life, together.  Partners who are willing and able to work for the cause of something greater than ego and personal power.  Partners, knowing full well that when a new Nation of freedom is created, it will not belong to us few, but to all.  Knowing that we will not dictate the direction of it, but only lay it's foundation.
