  1. Instituting this as a rule doesnt seem like a good idea. As Johnny said, RM covers a lot of this.

Although honestly, I see the opportunity for a private business in this idea.

A reputation list of sorts seems like something a private org could operate and run - keep tabs on other players actions somehow and, in exchange for a fee, players can access someones reputation or said list. Obviously there's a lot of problems to be solved here (information exchange with other orgs?), but it's something.

  2. Update!

We currently have some vacancies in the management/executive branch of our business!

    We are looking for:

    - Mining Operations Manager

    - Manufacturing Operations Manager

    - Logistics/Transportation Operations Manager

    - Financial Services Manager

    - Marketing Manager

    - PMC General

In these positions, you would be responsible for managing and operating your respective sector of the business as well as potentially performing some of the tasks relevant to your sector. Our employees in their respective sectors would be answerable to you!

If you think you would be suitable in any of the above roles, apply today!

We are also always looking for employees under other roles, so if you think you would fit in any of the roles within the umbrella of all our operations, feel free to contact ExtendedBacon or apply.

A Corp with RP elements and a bit of cliché? If I wasn't "taken" (help, they abducted me years ago and still force me to work for them!) I think I'd almost sign up!

I love (and sometimes hate) that corporate buzzword bullsh... I mean buzzword bingo, too.

Ahaha thanks, that's exactly what I was going for!

    ----

We don't require or expect singular allegiance to the company as long as you're able to contribute - we are a business after all, not a nation!

If at any point you change your mind, we'll always have space for enterprising individuals to join an innovative, expanding company!

If you're looking for buisness partners hit me up. I'm slowly trying to form a network of likelyminded corps, so that we can interact a bit socialy and buisness wise.

The Iridium Cartel is always open for good buisness, as long as you don't antagonize the empire that is.

We would love an opportunity to synergize with other like-minded partners!

We are constantly improving and aiming to create paradigm-shifting change, and I think our cooperation could help achieve a disruptive impact on the industry!

The only facet of EVE that I see translating 100% to DU is the political intrigue...

Which, let's be honest, is the best part of EVE ahahah

  6. Honestly Lethys got a point this feels like totally valid gameplay - honestly even if it is aggressive or not 'moral' isn't that part of what makes a player-driven game what it is?

  7. Even if the travel takes ages I'm sure there are things you could do on the ship while you're on the way, depending on the ship amenities, that could make the trip productive.. Could go as far with socialising with other passengers to managing org business, designing ships, lua writing (though i'm unsure how this would work in-game), designing ships, the list goes on

  8. So I pledged during the kickstarter, and I want to upgrade the pledge, but the crowdfunding page doesn't seem to work for me at all when I'm logged in. I click on the pledge tiers and nothing happens.

How do I upgrade? I feel like this is probably something obvious I'm missing but I honestly don't know.

  9. On the one hand... the organization of player government and politics requires people be in multiple organizations...

On the other... corporate competition... pirate groups... PvP in general needs some level of separation between foes...

But then... IRL people usually are members of several organizations... Working at say Microsoft doesn't prevent you from being a Mountain climber... or being a Storm Trooper in 501st...

I like the idea that the organization can set internal policy on if it's members can join other groups...  I think it should be more robust than just ON/OFF.  Being able to set it for each internal Rank would be good.  So you can have your org officers... people with responsibilities... not be in other orgs but your entry level people don't necessarily have to be exclusive.

I think this is probably a good basis for the system. If they were to implement, it would have to be robust and detailed, for example setting categories for each organisation, and preventing joining other organisations of the same type, or based on rank within the organisation, etc. There would be a whole bunch of details that would ideally be in the system to make it works as optimally as possible.

  10. I feel like this system wouldn't even be necessary and that the idea of reverse-engineering suggested above is probably the best way to go, at least for constructs. Even just owning one of the products and being able to replicate it through analysis and observation would probably make do for that.

Scripts are probably another story entirely though, as I'm not really sure how those would work.

  11. I know that NQ have been very informative on how markets will work, and how products are bought and sold, however, has there been any thought or information thrown around about the actual financial system? How will the financial system run - similarly to real life? What would be the role of banks (if they even existed as the game mechanics allowed)? What about loans, or investments, to people who don't have the funds to undertake large projects. Could banks store people's money (or would that even be necessary)? What about groups or companies that could go public, and have people buy stakes in them in order to raise funds, just as in real life?

I just figured this was all food for thought as it doesn't seem to be something that's been explored yet.
