No issues with color change as long as the contrast stays the same.

All i want is to be able to. Clearly notice objects against the background texture.

And i want a darker looking space, that i can also still "see".  Anything to be honest should be better than what we have now.  You can have a darker space without it being "BLACK AND OMG CANT SEE".  we will see what nq comes up with

Is there still a possibility for the main star system to be replaced with the new planet tech? It's a shame it hasn't happened yet, and I can 100% confirm it'd be a major PR boost for the game if done properly.

I always assumed they would make a new solar system with that, and probably most people would move over there, it sorta be like a soft wipe in that regard.  but who knows. population still low for how big they made the solar system.  If they made a new one probably only need like 6 planets and moons.

Then, @NQ please add a "nice to have" task for your todo list adding a settings option to replace the nebula.

Has it became clear this has very low priority.

I made my own skybox before with less than 10 hours of UE4 experience.  And i dont think its of the highest priorities, but i think having a cool immersive looking space game can help to attrack new players.  Yes having a solid new player experience is what will keep them, but we need both.

Thank you for confirming this has nothing to do with "immersive gameplay" and all the other BS. Just about taste.

I never said anything otherwise.  But you just argue to argue.  Said it was about immersion from the beginning.  And you think that a few tweaks to a sky box insta crashes people, which proved to you didnt.  Also proved how NQ deals with any ships crashing and are told to use ingame tools like radar.  And people crash more now than back in A1 into space elevators, so thus proving nebula isnt some crazy gameplay mechanic.  Once again you lack reading comprehension.

Still trying to offend ppl with the prejorative verb "crying"?

But i can do the same:

Still crying about the nebula? Saying its about immersive gameplay when DU has immersion issues orders of magnitude more serious than this?

Its just a matter of taste, yours is not more important than mine.

pot meet kettle, thats what u started.   And no one said anything was more important that anything else.  God you dont read very well do you?  But proof is there, majority of people dont like the nebula and want it removed, and some sort of change.  You are in the minority.  And you are crazy if you think skybox tweaks are high level development.

Yea. Ppl like are the core problem of our society.

Because in the old days ppl knew they were ignorant.

Now ppl think they are informed and informing others with no factual data.

Statistical data is a magic trick that ppl like me present to you to convince you of what you know to be a lie.

You still crying over something that isnt real? lol wow good lord man.

At least let players choose which aesthetic to use in settings. There's no gameplay reason to lock everyone to the same thing.

I could definitely get on board with that.  and lets be honest, a few skybox tweaks are not high level development.  Ive played around with Unreal Engine 4 and made my own skybox in 30min before and thats someone who has less than 10 hours total in UE4.

Personally, I'd like tree collision to be a thing again. It was part of the challenge of the game and NQ removed it to not have to deal with the many crybabies who can't fly.

Thats NQ's m.o.  And i suspect thats how the nebula change came about.  As people crashed into the moon non stop, but they were new.  People crashed equally on the light and dark side.  Alpha 1 discord full of people who were like "im in space how do i stop my ship?"   They had no brakes and didnt know to reverse burn, lol.  Lessons we all learned.  But a few claimed their crashes were due to not seeing when they were just bad/new pilots like we all were in alpha, with little or no talent points.

And it is a problem with NQ always trying to dial up ANY effects to 12.  they dont understand less is more.  Like they could have a dark skybox, but maybe see some galaxies in the distance, or see ONE nebula in one area of space, but NQ just blankets the whole area and was like "done".  Big problem with them.

I tink that for the sake of emergence and a gameplay experience, it is fine if the sky box is not "real" (and pitch black). But the Light Emitting Skybox NQ thought would solve their lighting problems really is just one more of the over the top effects which the context of the game really detract from it.

Well no one is claiming to want "real" thats absurd, its a video game. but STYLE matters, and the constant green hue and the nebula looks terrible to most people, along with the rocks.  Something could be done to make it better.  Immersion doesnt mean real, its about feeling and style when you playing.   The old skybox had a 100x better feel for a space game.  And any lighting issues needed to be done with the elements, not plastering some over done nebula skybox.

    Havr numbers? No right?..

    Your opinion.

look at all the threads and discussions about the space elevators.  Its not opinion.  People crash into those things a lot.  NQ came out and said "use a radar" when people wanted to nerf how high up you could build on your tile.

Speed and render range, and the short range of atmo radar are the major causes of crashes.  Not being able to see (if its rendered) is not one of them.

What was the color change in all channels RGB in numerical values?

    Same for all voxels?

Where is your statistic about the reasons ppl crash into stations?

Its not a fact.. Its your uninformed opinion. You just dont know the difference because you think the world rotates around you.

What about all the structures that people crashed into during beta WITH the nebula.. Its proven fact more crashes happen with the nebula then when it wasnt there.  And NQ said "use a radar"  thats from the game developers. BOOM mic drop.  owned again.  You make it too easy.

  12. Just now, joaocordeiro said:

    Then laugh.

But your laugh is caused because of your lack of empathy towards new players.

And hopefully NQ will disregard you suggestion to remove the nebula.

Its already been proven.  Why you clutching at this makes no sense.  You act like with the old skybox you were flying with your monitor turned off.  Look at JCs old alpha video when they flew into space. you could see perfectly.  You got some real problems if think an alteration of the skybox would suddenly make every "noob" in the game instantly crash and uninstall.

All hail the great master of comprehension. A hail the great @VandelayIndustries.

The guy that says that you should not be saying your opinio because you were not from his time.

The guy that says who the game is for.

But does not want you do swallow it without replying of how self-centric he his.

You done crying yet about crashing your speeder?
