"Now we're killing I suppose.
So close was I, and maybe others to Salvation.
Now I watch from afar, and ask..."
How did you suddenly get Mines and a sniper rifle?

Line of Sight requirements could fix the building said array within a mmon, or could not be placed witthi na shield for any scientific reason
And as of the last point, yeah, but on the bright side, it means people can have "daily" quests to ear some cash I mean, in EVE we got missions for silly things that NPC give us that don't really affect the universe, in DU, not paying much for an Array maintenance job may be your faction's ndoing
Emergent Politics O_o
The specific wavelength the Comms tower uses to create both a local chat and a radar are nullified by the waves the shield uses to maintain an effective energy barrier. Comm Arrays in a shield have their range reduced by 50%, and the effective mass required for Radar detection increased by 25%. The shield's effective energy (health) is reduced by 20%.
Maybe? You could still put one in a shield, but it would decrease the effectiveness of both units. It would still be harder to destroy the Array, but it's offest by some negatives.

Doesn't seem like he won to me. Looks more like somebody replaced the P with an A.
Also, Didn't realize you weren't on the hill when I replied.

"Tut Tut. While some of the survivors were squabbling over the hill, I was busy.
Busy in the wreck, salvaging, looking, finding and fixing.
I now hold a repaired blaster pistol, small, but effective. With it, I can stun, kill.
I force you off the hill with threat of death, but I will not kill aimlessly.
This hill could save us all, could it not? Rude it would be for me to deny one their salvation.
And thus, I take my place as King of the Hill, ever alert, should one try and usurp me."

Crap, did he animate all of that opening? That's awesome! Really captured the spirit of the game, I think. My one nitpick is that I was expecting to see a ship leave Earth right at the last second. I think that would have made it even more epic!
What are these DU Discord servers you speak of?
Edit: Oh no, I see. Went to youtube to read the description. Still, really good editing.

We don't know how ship battles will work, aside from the same "lock-and-fire" mechanism that will be employed for ground battles. We also know that when a construct takes damage, it will be centered around an area, allowing the voxels and elements to take damage, meaning that with enough hits in the same spot, we will be quite literally able to blow a hole into another ship, possibly for boarding. Elements can also become broken with enough damage, and cease to function.

Read some of the devblogs, they've stated it before. One example, you will be able to build stargates.
-
They have stated that there shall be no destroying of planets. As far as specifically the death star, while they do like to say that players could build their own Death Star, they don't mean it in a sense of "They can make a ship that can blow up a planet." They mean it more so as "You can build something that looks like the Death Star, and is as big as the Death Star."
-
Well, All we know is that We all start on the same planet. We'll likely be able to see maybe a moon, or possibly another planet, but beyond that, until somebody makes space travel, no one will have any idea where anything else is. To get out of the system, we'll have to build the stargates.
Honestly, I find it really exciting to have absolutly no clue where any other planets are until we discover it. Imagine. You're one of the first ones to make a spaceship. Others have been looking for Planet #2, but nobody can find it. You're out exploring and stumble upon it. A whole new world, that thousands of others will colonize, mine, and fly to, all because you had the skills(luck?) to find it first. You'll be remembered forever, as the first person to set foot on a new planet. (Aside from whoever gets out of the inevitable rush to log in first and spawn on Alioth.)

Not to be rude... but the way you are posting these is a little spamy. Why not just make one topic and have that include all of the chapters? That way people don't have to search for them, and so it won't fill up the newest topic section.

I think what would be cool, that is something along the lines of a massive "Shield-Breaker Ship", is to have a smaller construct be able to pass through the shield, and land on the ground. Max crew size for a ship such as this would be small, maybe 5 people. The ship should have to be equipped with an expensive and power hungry device that "uses neutron waves to disrupt the shields cover, allowing it to pass through", or something similar. The device should use enough power that the construct can't support any weapons, so they have to sneak down to the surface.
Once the ship has landed on the planet (If they don't die), what I'm imagining from there would be the 5 man crew infiltrating the shield generator room (Because we all know, you don't leave the shield generator out in the open). Then, you covertly have your hacker bring down the shield from the inside! For balancing reasons, the "hack" should last around 30 minutes, before the shield re-engages in a non-attack-able mode. This allows for the attacking force to invade, but they know they're fighting the clock, to either get to and destroy the generator, or seize the territory before time runs out and they're locked out. It could also inspire some last stands, as the defenders rally in the last minutes. "Come on guys! We only have to hold for 5 more minutes! Let's drive these assholes out!"
Now, do we know if you can hack the protection bubbles at all? No. (If we do, post quote or link please) There also probably isn't a device that allows a small construct to pass through a shield, nor should there be at launch. It would be best for this feature to come in an expansion.

Oh. He messaged me too, asking if I wanted to join Solar Secure. He didn't even both to check to see if I was already in an org(I am). Now I know some backstory.

Introduction
All of the materials and resources are found in the same form on every planet. No Man's Sky offers lots and lots of the same thing; there are tons of planets, buildings, animals, NPCs, and space stations, but none of them really offer anything that another one doesn't.I just want to point out that they've already said that some planets (At leasts Alioth, the starting planet) won't have the resources you're looking for, so you'll have to venture out and find them. They've also said each biome on a planet contains a set of typical ores, so that should add some feeling that not every location has what you need.

From what i can tell Novaquark is a fairly new studio in the industry with no previous projects.
Taken straight from their crowdfunding video:
Alexandre Moufarek - Producer "During my years at Ubisoft, I had the chance of working with small and large teams, telling people working on game franchises as Watch Dogs and Ghost Recon, and was really an amazing experience and taking all of this with us, we're going to be building an amazing game in Dual Universe and today we will be telling you more about our game."
Etienne Baratte - Lead Network developer "I've been working for 10 years on large-scale distributed systems in MMO games as well as non-gaming applications. All the systems were pretty complex but Dual Universe is really on a different scale."
Sure, they might be new as a studio, but they've definitely got some experience behind them.

I don't think there's been any type of Official list so far, aside from the trailers. I could be wrong, only showed up during the kickstarter.

Upvoted and favorited. Nice work.

The only other Voxel Sandbox building game I know of right now is StoneHearth. It is currently in Alpha, I believe selling for $20, but they don't seem to be stuck in that Alpha/Early Access wormhole. They're constantly updating it (just released Alpha 18, actually) and are doing what Novaquark is with Transparency. They have weekly streams, and a "Desktop Tuesday" where they explain new mechanics, features, and other stuff.
As to what it is...
So this is the vision: Stonehearth is a townbuilding/ant farm sim set in an SNES style fantasy world
You control a group of "hearthlings", whom you command to build your town. They have quite a few jobs they can take on, such as a trapper, mason, herbalist, and more. You can use the building editor to place templates, or make your own templates to use and share. Enemies will start to show up, and you can fight them back with knights, clerics, archers, and footmen. For being in an Alpha state, there is a surprisingly large amount to do.
But, building has it's bugs. Some won't have all of their scaffolding taken down. Some won't finish. Some won't start at all. But those are the really big complicated, "Giant multi-level castle on a hill" builds that won't start. They've been steadily improving it, but it's slow going.
I'd recommend looking into it.
