  1. I disagree a bit about the idea of Dual Universe being that close to Second Life. Even less regarding money. Dual Universe is using the same model as EVE online.

DACs are PLEX, and work the very same way.

Economy will be driven by market orders, asked and fullfilled by players. Therefore their value will change depending on  demand/offer.

DACs, like PLEX in EVE, are a special item. Subject to the same market rules, but these are different in that they have a fixed value in real money, and they can't be crafted. These properties give some stability to the item value and provide a reference for all the market.

Being suscription model and with DACs, NQ doesn't really have much to figure out. It is a very well tested scenario, and they do well in my opinion to follow something that works. I wouldn't change it. You want to make profit from an item crafted in game? Have your profit in game.

  2. Players have to realize that an online game needs a way to pay for the online feature overtime.

F2P can simply not exist by itself. A F2P is only free because either you have to see intrusive commercials or someone else is paying for premium content, therefore limiting the 'free' user to play half the game. Not to talk about the P2W odds this allows.

Full price for an online game means that the money is raised for the game itself. But what happens in the long term? Expansions? I prefer to be certain of the monthly fee I'll be paying than unsure of when will a full-priced expansion will come, unless I want to continue playing half a game if I choose not to expand.

  3. Star Citizen has cleared that up. People will be spending real money on newer models of ships in-game. Same deal with people who buy iPhone 6, then the next year they buy iPhone 6S, next year they buy iPhone 6XXL and so on.

Make what you wish out of it.

I thought that once live, you could not buy ships with real money. In fact, people in the forums seem so possitive about it, that I keep giving credit.

Anyway, I want SC to succeed as much as I want for Dual Universe, whatever SC model is. And I keep my point: EVE is proof that, provided people enjoy it, the subscription model works.

  4. Thanks NQ for having cleared the model. Backers have received an e-mail explaining what has been said a few times, but some of us, or maybe only me, am a slow learner :)

So a price ranging from 10 to 13 euros per month is a good price for me.

Moreover, I don't know what's the long term plan of games like Elite or Star Citizen. Not saying those will fall at all, but maintaining a shingle shard universe must cost money, and this ensures it is supported indefinitely. I would be concerned if there was no subscription model, as I am for the other games I've mentioned.

  5. KickStarter only accepts VISA/Master/AmericanE,

Is there a way to participate via paypal or bank transfer? since i m living in a country foreign as my native one that doesnt allow foreigners to hold any of those cards...

    Have you checked 'Paysafecard'?

Not sure if that is available for you, and if you can somehow skip the limitation by having a card delivered to you by this alternative other than asking the bank for a card...
