It is with some amount of deep regret that I say goodbye to DU.

I have tried to support the game, beyond ArchHUD, but NQ's attitude to blatant griefing is just too much.

This is not how you help a game grow.  We all know there are lots of issues, but I was hoping that the wipe and release would be a nice fresh start.

I want to thank everyone who has supported ArchHUD (and ButtonHud before that) and who have provided support and kind words over the 2 years.

I hated the fact we have T1 bots buying ore injecting unlimited quanta into the economy (why should coal be worth anything if no player willing to pay for it).

I hated there are bots selling elements (takes way player market niche setting ceiling prices)

I hated the fact that there is no decay of elements (life count is bugged, nothing on my ship goes below 2 lives left, and of course static elements never run out).

I hated that we didnt get Territory Warfare (original promise)

I hated that their solution to pvp problems was a stupid floor max speed no matter mass of ship.  (And floor burn speed no matter size of ship).

I was willing to overlook it, and hope they would make the game better, but ....

I cannot continue supporting a game where the dev's ignore blatant griefing and refuse to enforce their own rules.  (see below post).

So I am done.  I wish you all well, and will see you around the pond.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

(Regarding ArchHUD - I will leave it up for the time being.  I will not be providing support for it though going forward.  There are many who will, and someone might pick up the mantel).

I refuse to let you quit! Seriously bud - this is not the hill to die on. The game needs people like you. WE need people like you. I respect your decision but politely and respectfully request that you ignore the lack of enforcement of their own rules and carry on playing with us, the people with whom you have grown friendships with over the last 2+ years!

Also - there are many other ways we can tackle this problem at its heart. How about a server wide embargo on trading at this market.

Message me on my discord if you want to chat. Don't let this be your swansong though. For those of us who enjoy having you around!

  2. Another update. Due to the futility of the Air challenge (1 success out of 5 attempts) I swapped to the space challenge. Sadly currently starting attempt 3 - have collected and delivered all items but it stuck telling me I haven't delivered the large assemblies - which I have. Went back and checked the containers to make sure. About to start attempt number 3 on space missions but this makes currently 1 success out of 7 attempts (about to start number 8 (space) and about 5 hours invested so far.

Please give a little more detail about the situation.  Does Aphelia tell you to exit but the door isn't open?  Is one or more of your deliveries not counted?

The delivery count can be broken if you move or stack items inside the delivery container, so don't touch anything in that box after putting it there.

Sure - the entire mission runs as it should. All deliveries made. All lights extinguished. All Aphelia voice lines run as they should and all waypoints working as usual. Its just the exit that won't activate.

Incidentally I just ran this on my alt and it worked but the teleporter was flashing orange on and off while trying to activate it

I can see this being an issue for me, as I am not a war like individual nor am I big on being part of a huge organization. Kind of the little guy if you will. I could see the little guy getting pushed to join or else or even constantly harassed by "pirates" until they either have to join or just quite. anyone that has played EVE knows this is how Goonswarn started, now they are a huge problem. something has to keep the solar system from being lawless.

I have always been like this. I enjoy crafting and exploring and would much rather have a pvp toggle so I can enjoy the elements of the game I want to without potentially hugely impactful negtaive affects from other players.

Sadly that is not the game DU is - and I think we all have to take a balanced look at the game and decide whether the positives outweight the negatives. In this case, for me, they do. Finding and joining an org, or starting your own, is really the only viable option to improve your safety and reduce the likelihood of a griefer attack. Its not ideal and, when faced with similar feedback for New World Amazon Game Studio's introduced pvp as a toggle and saw their pre-orders rocket as a result. I think we all know that won't happen with NQ so we all just have to suck it up and try and be as safe as possible so we can enjoy those elements of the game we love in relative safety!
