  1. NQ needs to find a way to save the game. With other titles coming out in the near future I really think DU is going to suffer.  I really feel like NQ is focused in the wrong direction.  The hunt for ship wrecks is great but, who is doing it. Large Orgs. I did one but all I did was VR in pick up some stuff hand it off and VR out. Super fun. 

     

    I came to this game with 30 people, we are down to 3. Maybe this is just our group but I doubt it. 

     

    My ideas.

     

    1) Mining, make mining more of an industrial action.  Players plant a claim.  Then similar to a factory but with a new core something like a Mining core.  These have a buid zone like any other core but are linked to the claim beacon. You add things like automated Mining units(mine ore), scanning units(find ore), containers, scavenger units(search for and pick up top soil ore rocks,transfer units(robots that move ore from mining units). All automated robots.

     

    Maybe the player needs to build the path or something but it needs to change.

     

    This would free up miners to play the game. 

     

    2) PVP.  I have posted here before on PVP.  Warp should be cheap, 10% of the current cost.  Interdiction fields to pull ships out of warp.  

     

    Biggest note from PVP is make it fun for both parties. Best thing I can do is say Elite Dangerous does it best. Slow things down.  Give the defender a chance. 

     

    3) Voxel editor. Needs to be done and fast, some of the other titles coming out this year seem to have watch NQ fumble and are far more advanced in Voxel tools then NQ. 

     

    4) cores,. Allow for cores build area to be modified. Option-

     

    A- preset grids, set up 5 (random number) of presets per core that allow ship to have the same build area but are more useful. I don't want to build a cube. Maybe I want to build a long ship. 

     

    B- make each core have a 10³m cubes that players can move around to build the shape they want to build in. 

     

    C- get rid of cores altogether players build and the core grows as the build gets larger. Once the player is ready to place the core they feed the core something like core units.  

     

    5) voxels as elements. This is not my idea but it is still a good one. Having to build a ship based on element constraints is ridiculous.  So add something along the lines of engine voxels, 12 voxels make the same output as a small engine or something.   

     

    6) clean up the districts and markets, 48 hours and the ship is moved to an impound yard somewhere.  I am guessing 90% are players that quit the game.

     

    I really like DU but it is losing players, and I hope it is not too late to save it.  Most players will not give games a second chance as there are often more options.

    Idea of ranges

    GWG S - 50km bubble

    GWG M - 200km bubble

    GWG L - 800k bubble

     

    This could allow pirates or whoever to set up nets.  Forcing warping players create there own non direct routes. 

     

    I think this would add alot of tactics for both PVPers and warping ships.  As Orgs would try to create there own secret routes. 

     

    Also on a side note, it would be a cool thing to get a element that can detect heavy warped areas so pirate or opposing factions can find the hidden jump routes.

    To be honest they are more of a hazard they anything else.  My Org has a 1.4k Platform, and it is easy to see but I have been in orbit of alioth traveling at 6000kph and hit one of these screwing my day over.  And all because of a 1 voxel thick tower.

  5. Well in any case I would join an org as a token legate for about 10 to 20 mil a month really not that much in the grand scheme of things. And if I needed to vote on something it would be up to that orgs super legate on how I vote. I have my own org and I don't think you would ever see me minus payday. Don't make the payment I leave.  That would be the biggest issue the org.  As they would be instantly over these core limit. 

  6. Way off topic. Anyhow ED as a MMO, flight sim, adventure game, empire-builder, trading and mining game is still far superior to DU. And with space legs coming with what looks like a good shooter DU is going to take a hit. DU in my eyes and I am sure for meny of yours as you are still playing has huge potential and we are all hoping for the good game. Also ED is a released game that is in direct competition with Star Citizen not DU.

     

    As for the 30kph.  Fine that may be a engine limit. 

     

    My wish list.

    1) Make warping far cheaper. Maybe something like 10 to 25% of current cost

     

    2) Add something like a interdiction ED style or Star Wars style.  For the SW style, which I think would be best add an element(or a secondary fuction to the near useless AGG) that would create a gravity field. Maybe 50 km for s and 100 km (1su) for m and 500km(5su) L.  When entering the gravity field the warp drive shuts down. And piracy can ensue or whatever you are doing.  May be taxing common trade lanes. Who knows. 

     

    3) With cheaper warp allow players to create warp routes to attempt to avoid interdiction. Something that would allow you to make 5, 10, 100 warp jumps before arriving at your target.  This could also make warp beacon more useful. 

     

    I could go on and on about this but those are the 3 things I would like to see to fix the slow boating...  Just get rid of it. Make it something only for when in a gravity well. 

     

  7. I guess I find it odd then.  Ore, unlike 99% of products takes personal or player time, hours upon hours.  Product that is made from the ore takes very little player.  Maybe you needed to wait for the skill or wait for the industry unit to be crafted but that is not your time.  You can do what ever you want but the miner needs to sit on his node and mine.  Now you can say that they need to build the factory, place all the parts, link all the items, and transport goods around to markets........   But the time in that is short, long flights you can go watch a movie.  but the miner has to sit there and mine. And to add insult to injury they are going to make mining even more "fun" by adding a logistical element making what I can assume will make mining take even longer.  So you are selling your time and it should be worth more.

     

  8. AGG have the ability to remove the need for thrust at 1k, so hover at high altitude.  You can then set your height from 1k to high orbit.  The AGG would move at about a speed of 800KPH depending on your LUA.  Before .23 when you turn on the AGG the height was set at your current height.  Now it is set at your last used height with a change rate of 6 meters per sec.  so now the ship moves up and down at 6 meters per sec, also for some reason your AGG is set at 7k and you want to set it for 1k you need to wait for the agg to reset at 6 meter per second, and it is only about 15 minutes.  but this is a game.  and if i am tabing out to play other games or watch youtube  while waiting to play this game more then i play, why play.

     

     

  9. Third is the best immersion you can get, i think this game is set 10000 years in the future.  My 2018 car has a cameras pointing is every directions.  We have a VR helmet permanently strapped to our heads.  I am sure in 10000 year we can have a system that makes it show us flying in third person.

  10. Hi, here are a few things making me not play as much, as the game kind of lost something(and now regretting my alpha patron).  I maybe the only one that cares about these things....  SO a poll.  

     

    1) To me AGGs made the game feel more like a sci fi game, something a space ship would use to lower itself to the planet, and yes it was a bit fast, but now completely worthless.  Also I saw this as an end game item, spent weeks working to get one(limited play time).  Guess that was a waste of time now.

     

    2) I ran a multi crew carrier with an agg, so the carrier would never land unless needed, we would send down smaller ships to do missions(mining, trading, whatever), but that is now gone.  We have to now land a ship that was never meant to land unless at its dock, to recover our craft.

     

    3) As a group of miners I don't see the reason in selling to bots, or selling at all while bots are in the game.  Bots are making artificial caps on prices this is not a player driven economy.  IMO this is a complete fail on the devs part.

  11. I am pretty late on this, I would like to know if ship docking is gone from the game for good. I think it is ridiculuce that I need to land my carrier to recover craft.   I get it as a stop gap from players passing ships in to agg or orbit. But please allow ships to dock to other ships. Make landing gear a requirement. Make it if there gear is not in contact then it falls. I don't know I am not a game designer. 

     

    I really hope this game makes it.
