  1. Each dynamic core should give the player the option, to select the desired engine sound for space and atmospheric engines from a list of available sounds.  From a "singing" high-pitch sound to motorcycle to tank, etc. ...

Maybe, optionally, the player can also alter the sound with pitch and bass adjustment, smoothness, volume, and whatever fancy settings more.

  2. It woulc ome very handy, if we could change honeycombs or elemnts of a blueprint to something we have in stock or prefer. This alterration would of course not remove any DRM if existing on that particular blueprint.

    Example:
The blueprint of a ship demands glossy gold honeycombs. Since I do not have it nor wish to use it, I want to exchange the glossy gold honeycombs with let's say glossy Yellow Plastic.
Or I want to exchange basic space engines S with advanced military space engines S.

Right now I wished for this feature because many of the library BPs I want to place call for many honeycombs I do not have and that are costly to produce. It would be no problem to replace them with honeycomb types I have in stock.

  3. The problem with DU is, that the atmosphere in DU appears absorbing illumination too much. Even the landing platform of markets can hardly be seen. And light sources are also set to not render when even in a small distance.

I am aware that light calculations are a burden for the game server, yet, in other gams, we do not have such illumination problems. There is really a need for NQ to do something about the lack of illumination range/strength. Screen is fully black until you are maybe 300m away from a landing platform in an arriving ship, that is just not realistic.

Just in addition, I too would support the terrain-detecting radar as mentioned by you. But fixing things that are not good enough, would come first.

you may wish to consider the fact that if they have a pvp only planet/system, then they are more likely to be there and less likely to be anywhere else you want to be.

I hope you are right. With all the postings of you in the past as responses to my suggestions, I got the picture that PVP guys not too delighted having PVP with other PVP players, that they would prefer easy prey with no risk for themselves. So, even if there was a PVP-only system, not much PVP would take place there, but they would still come to us normal players and look for easy prey. Doing PVP does truly not mean being brave...

  5. I think, the atmospheric attributes in regards to illumination outreach/range are comparable to the deep sea, and therefore I think, it is legitimate for my own example to refer to deep-sea vehicles (not the military submarines that cannot go that deep). Those deep-sea vehicles have lights almost all over, but certainly at their front. Very strong spotlights. Needed in unknow terrain.

If atmosphere and illumination in DU would be similar to how it is here on Earth, there wouldn't be much need for this posting. But having the fact that the screen is fully black at times when flying through the night, there is a need for spotlights. Even airplanes, which are the closest real-life thing to our DU ships, have very strong spotlights on their landing gear, and even on their wing roots.

We have no wheels in DU, and therefore no cars. I am not sure how you reference real-world cars to the airplanes and spaceships we build and use in DU. At least, your comparison is highly,, uhmmm, creative. I give you that point. ?

  6. My experience with MUs is, that they don't generate enough income to cover all costs. In my own case, the maximum amount of fully calibrated MUs generates just around 90% of my weekly needs, slowly bankrupting me. And on Facebook, I heard very similar from many other players. A few players seem to be fie, but I do not know, what they do to be in a better position than the rest of us. I actually envy those few players. I like the new mining system, but it needs some revamping. Same with tax. If cut in half, the system will begin to work for me.

Whatever system it is or will be, it needs to accomodate different playing styles.

  7. Everyone knows, new star systems will come eventually in the mid-term future.

Please use this thread to suggest your own star system and let NQ know, what we players want.
Each suggestion needs an image. Avoid long text explanations. Do not discuss other suggestions, just suggest your own system(s).

I go ahead and suggest my first own star system.

  8. I gave you a blue heart because I like your idea for what it is, but I do not believe it will ever be done that way again, even with elevators or similar elements.

For my part (but I am not everybody), I prever the new system though it needs an urgent revamp. But yes, I liked to see big ore nodes underground, though the mining ook too long and was a bit too cumbersome. I go for the new system, but tax needs to be halved, and players need to be able to run 16 to 32 more fully calibrated MUs as the current maximum allows.. Once a MU has achieved a 100% calibration, it sould remain on those 100%. Only if the calibration is below 100%, it should get worse by the hour and require eventually a recalibration. This is just my own opinion. At the moment, with the new system, I will get bankrupt as I do not make enough quanta each week.

  9. SUGGESTION
A fully transparent, absolutely thin layer that can accept a graphic. In opposition to a transparent screen, the stick is so transparent that its edges cannot be seen, however, where there is any color (from the graphic), that color takes the material properties from the honeycomb surface below the sticker, or from the element. A stick on a metal surface rsults in metallic colors. Als, like a thin paper, it wraps along (adapts to) curved surfaces below it.

  10. The recycler should, when provided with a regular honeycomb or element schematic, read it "backwards" and take the related honeycomb or element and outputs without loss, or with almost no loss, the things used in the production. Example: when a plastic honeycomb schematic is in its bank, it takes that particular plastic honeycomb and disassembles it back into plastic product. Or if a plastic product schematic is in its bank, the output would be carbon and hydrogen. Same with elements.

This will really change up game mechanics and a lot of play style for people on the planets out of the safe zone bubble.

Even better make it a little more than 500su from the closest planet so people have to make a little range before they can warp.

So release a new planet, we can then have a long time to workout what the issues will be, and iron them out before all non bubble planets go that way

If you really implement such a one-side proposal, all you achieve for your love to PVP is to cut off many players from their mining on such planets and ultimatively lose their fun and quit playing DU. We already lost many of the player-base in the past.

But if you limit your suggestion to just one new planet, a planet with only T1 ore (similar to Alioth), then this would be okay. You get your wishes coming true, while all DU players can still visit and manage their mining on other planets.

But I seriously doubt that there will be a new planet inside the exiting star system. What NQ however announced for the future is, that there will be more star systems.  But those additional star systems make absolutely no sense, if the players cannot reach their tiles there, if your suggestion would be implemented for those new systems.  If you like PVP so much, why not you pick fights, epic galactic battles, against other PVP players here inside our existing star system? Just make appointments for big battles, and have your PVP action. YOu could even make them to streamed or even live-streamed events.

  12. "Miles" are not needed, but I assume, this was just symbolic and stands for the more realistic "few hundreds meters". Which leads us to the questio: which actually is a good distance (range) that allows safe night landing but not too much more server-burden? Would it be 500m, or a maximum of 1,000m? I believe, these two are the minimum and maximums of what is needed especially for landings by night. What distances do you all suggest?

the pvp lobby is just a bunch of short sighted people who only wanna make others suffer by shooting them.

as for your 'self-destruct' option, that alone is dumb. a better option will be a 'scuttling' idea. where you build a ship with 'scuttle' charges. think of it as planted C4 elements that allow you to blow up your ship for you. the purpose would be more useful if they re-enabled the element restore life. where the scuttled elements lose 2 uses over the 1 from being broken from combat.

however you can still currently just delete all your cargo, and remove element on big things like AGG, warp drives, weapons, engines etc mid combat. the issue pvp players have is because what they do is mostly pointless in a game where it should have meaning. so they are a bit angry when their only 'income' for said activity is easily deleted by another player when they feel they earned it.

Hi. No, you did not understand what my suggestion is about: It is about adding more risk for pirates to attack unarmed ships. It is unfair if only one side has guns and knows how to use them with their fast ships, when the other side in slow ship, unarmed or without experience in aggression bears all the risk and frustration alone. A SDD is not an offensive weapon, yet it triggers our PVP lobby to make one after the other comment saying they do not want it. The more they post against it, the more it shows me that a SDD would indeed distribute the risks more evenly to both sies - something they absolutely don't want.   ? ? ?

  14. I agree with Taekessel, all these many thousands of tunnels and caves increased the data tremendously to levels where it became a problem for server and data transfer to the player computer.

But I would suggest that only when armed wth the haresting tol, the rocks show their ore-type indicating glow colors. Otherwise they should look like regular rocks. This suggestion may come halfway towards your own wishes, Trisbarl.

  15. If the taxes will be re-adjusted to 50% of what they are now, the situation becomes manageable for most players. Based on the complains and emergencies I heard from other payers (I am affected, too), 50% would be okay. We should not look to the few players who somehow can manage the new system, but to the majority of players. And there are others way to limit tile occupancy, but I am not going further into detail about that inside this thread.

I also suggested changes to the MUs.

  16. If a player has a very big ship, I do not understand why some players want to spendhours with outdated, old-style manual disassembling. In a future that sees spaceships, I am sure humamns wuld have implemented things to make life easier. Yes, a right-click menu option to automatically disassembling is a big need.

Imagine when building a base or ship, you could place only 10 voxels each hour. That compares to me to the restriction of not being able to safe time with auto-disassembling.

I also don't understand another players suggestion that all players of DU who need to disassemble a ship should give that ship to this player. Is he haing so much time at his hands that he will do the disasembling of each ship he receives and thn return all elements and honeycombs to each player? Why aplayer? Or is the player meaning, a GM has to do this? I am really not undertaning the logic behind that player's suggestion, I admit.

  17. So many honeycombs are not availble in all colors. Plastic has the wides color variety, and we need the same color variety for steel panels, painted steel, and so on, the same with all other honeycomb types.

Also wishing for shades of turquoise, lilacs, scarlets, purples.

leaps towards a more balanced pvp system with more fun for all parties.

Hmmmm, are you sure that it is fun for a ship owner to be attacked and losing everything or a lot? ?

I agree with you, the game needs a lot of error-removal and some more features in its general part, and crash prevention, so for now it seems ineed a god idea to put aside the PVP for a while and get the game a bit more stable. That is why I applauded you with my first posting, and still do of course.

Insurances we know from Eve Online. I cannot say at the moment if I agree or disagree on such a feature, much depends on how it would be implemented, if ever (in a not so close future it may).

Your 3G device that easily retrieves all loot for you reminds me in its easiness a lot for my self-destruction device, not in a way of similarity, but because they two have a certain impact to the balancing of the game. Yours would be a device used mostly by pirates, looters, while my device would be used on the side of unarmed ships.

Armor: does steel and gold not go into the direction of armor, at least to some extend? Your idea is interesting, though, but let's hear the feedback of other players.

For now, however, I want that the causes of crashes can be traced down and fixed, and bug removal. This would add a lot to the gameplay.
And then, when that is done, let's see what feedback other gamers have added by then to this thread. I will follow this thread.
