Game does not start from Desktop Icon/Launcher

As of the latest patch, my game will not run from the launcher. I have completely uninstalled, downloaded the installer and began the first few steps on installation. When i run the game from the Desktop icon, it pops up a grey box and sits there. No play button, no news feed, nothing. also, in task manager, it is not using any resources. just sitting there.

Uninstalled,
Reinstalled from webpage download (but does not actually get to the point it can download the files)
disabled IP v6
Disabled firewall/antivirus

Rolled back windows to previous version

Copied files from working PC

Rebooted computer

Ran as administrator

ran in compatibility mode

 

Anything else to try?

Update... I have downloaded the Demo on Steam and ran the game from there. It says my steam account is not linked to a DU account. I then just went to the file location and ran equ8-launch-dual.exe and it allowed me to run dual universe that way and log in. It lets me play just fine now. The website installer still has issues.

Apologies, I did not see this thread and ended up responding here. I am glad to hear that you got it working by bypassing the launcher on the demo version but I suspect you will want to play on the main persistent server at some point. Please try following the advice I provided in that link and see if that helps restore launcher functionality. Wishing you the best of luck.

Hello! Bypassing the launcher on the steam version allowed me to log into all my accounts on that Pc i was having issues with. it appears that way at least. I am thinking this is the case, since i can log in on one account on one PC and anther account from the other PC and see them both in game and im able to interact with everything as normal. if thats NOT how things should be working... then well... maybe i found another thing to look into lol. Ill take a look at your response now. thanks for the reply.

I have went and collected all the files that were created during installation and added them to my ticket number #70967. It does not appear to have even made it far enough along to create a log file. Only 2 files were created.

In the Novaquark\dual-launcher.exe_Url_gorer01nmg0dpjf1eq0aahi1d1gxzlvp\2.18.0.0 folder there is one file.
