How to start new tutorial(game)

Anyone know how to start a new game?  I got through the tutorial partially, then quit.  It's been several months and I can't remember how to play. I want to follow the tutorial guide on the site this time.  My current character is outside in the middle of what appears to be know where, and I have no idea what I'm suppose to do, how to build, craft, etc.

 

Any guidance for newbs is appreciated.  Like, is there a way ti modify a config file to increase the resolution, or to get Ultrawide, or adjust any other settings manually?
