  1. So i apologize if this has been asked, i tried to go through the forums beforehand. Will there be numerous ways to get out into the outer reaches of the universe? The best i could find was that the Devs are considering a few different possobilities. If i may throw in my 2 cents, i like the idea of FTL drives that can push you forward x amount of distance or two a certain spot within a range based off your ships fuel and FTL drives capabilities. This type of propulsion seems to me to fit the explorer role the best the other type that would benefit colonization and industrialists groups would be to build and maintain point to point jump gates making it possible to quickly travel a route consistently without the need for FTL jump drives. The last Form of travel that i like the idea of would be something along the lines of wormholes, allowing players to make essentially blind jumps in a wormhole that has a lifespan. For example maybe it will only last a month, maybe it will only last a week. Either waay at some point that wormhole will close and if your on the other side you may be out a very long way. On the same token these may be useful for players who want to get a long way away from the start point and start thier lives in the distant reaches far removed from others. I hope that the devs are looking at more than one type of travel, i think that a variety would make the game more engaging over the long run. Again sorry if this has been hammered out, if it has disregard my post, if it hasnt leave your thoughts and lets get some good discussion going on it.
  2. reading through this im noticing two different types of stealth tech being talked about. We have Visual Stealth designed to keep you from being seen by the nkaed eve, and electronic stealth designed to keep you from being seen by radar and sensors. I believe that the two should be seperate in a sense, for instance if you build a ship that has a cloaking device, then the ability to be seen on scanners for things like power use, engine plumes, and radio trx etc should be seperated. Likewise if your ship is masked for sensor stealth to where sensors on other ships not operated by you or your clan can not detect you, or it is more difficult to detect you, then it should be seperated from the visual side of it. I am also a fan of covert ops, so maybe make it possible to mask from both, but make it very very expensive. Real life for instance, the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber which costs nearly 3.2 billion vs a normal bomber like the B-52 costing 36 million. In game make the modules extremely expensive and there still needs to be an advanced equally expensive way to counter it. Long story short i believe that Covert ops setups are a valuable part of the game as long as they are implemented well, personally i think they should be hard to get and even harder to afford.

Vicomt, you know ive noticed a few of us EVE players in the forums, we should think about banding together in game since in my opinion we have a very small advantage, we have played and some still play the only true Space MMO that is currently out there. We understand the communication, and theories that make a great corporation, im sure we could do the same in Dual Univers.
  4. lol i agree overhype kills games, but i can say that i am excited for a fresh take on a game genre that has not had any major breakthrough games in a lot of years. I am hopeful that DU will be a fresh creation in a genre that deserves attention.
  5. I prefer the private side. Public servers, because the solar system is still relatively small tend to get crowded a bit toof much for my liking. But It is definitely a great game. Took space engineers ideas and in my opinion branched off into a more viable survival game.

Just Checking in to this, I am extremely excited for this game, even if it means the end of my social life I am a HUGE fan of the space genre, and have more hours than i can count between EVE, Space Engineers, Empyrion, Elite Dangerous and Rebel Galaxy. I love the Genre and for a game to combine pretty much all of it into a living MMO universe is extremely exciting. So that being said.... When can i start to throw my hard earned money at the developers Looking forward to creating new friends both in forums and in the game once we can play and test it.
  7. From another EVE veteran as well a few others like Elite dangerous, Empyrion, and space engineers, i like to play among the stars. Like Vicomt Im sure that this will consume a good portion of my free time lol and am excited to see it coming along. I would love to throw money at it as soon as possible this seems like a great game opportunity. Would love to throw money to start playing and testing ASAP
